Trek to Yomi is a game with great promise that, unfortunately, fails to live up to expectations. Despite this, it also succeeds in areas where most games fail. Few games can lay claim to this level of stylistic fidelity. However, its shortcomings are too vast and all-encompassing to ignore. It feels like a game that tries desperately to be more than it is, to have more nuance, more to say. Unfortunately, it's not just the color scheme that's black and white.

I walked away from Raven's Hike with a bitter taste in my mouth. It didn't feel like a challenge at the end, but a waste of time. However, looking back at it, Raven's Hike doesn't deserve to be called a bad game. The controls are smooth, and while it could explain things better, it is a very fair experience. Personally, I wouldn't recommend it to anyone I know, but use your discretion. If you're looking for a tough, but fair, puzzle-platformer then you could certainly do worse. For me, I found the game to be mediocre at best, and exhausting at worst. Still, the creativity on display is pretty cool.

Godlike Burger is a challenging simulation game that requires you to learn from your failures. You will have to find a way to make money from customers and use them as a viable meat source. With many planets to explore, you will have a lot of content to play through. Unfortunately, awkward controls and odd interface choices hold this game back, but not enough to take away from its powerful strengths.

The biggest problem with trying to score a good game is figuring out what it deserves. Eastward has its issues, and as I've been saying, I don't think everyone would enjoy it as much as I have. However, I believe the best way to determine if a piece of art is good or not is based on how it engages you. I couldn't put Eastward down for three days straight. Nearly everyone I talked to about it commented on how they haven't seen me this excited about something in a long time. Maybe it was just in the right place at the right time, but I loved it! Give it a try! Maybe you'll love it as much as I do!

Dinosaur Fossil Hunter makes you feel like a paleontologist who wants to succeed in their dream career, immersing you in a relatable story that resembles real-life career struggles. The paleontology work is as accurate as possible, and the graphics really make you feel the gravity of a discovery or completed exhibit. While the charm can quickly wear off with repetitive activities that only avid paleontologists could continue to enjoy, it is a solid simulation experience that shows you a day in the life of a paleontologist.

As the fourth game in a series, We Were Here Forever is a title that knows what it’s about. The gameplay isn’t particularly flashy, and the story doesn’t feature a series of dramatic set pieces to get your adrenaline up. Instead, the developers have stuck to what they know: building unique and interesting puzzles that demand a kind of teamwork very rarely seen in other games. The game improves on its predecessors in every way, without losing the magic that made the series unique in the first place. If you’re not interested in puzzle solving, then this game is going to be an extremely dull experience; alternatively, if you are, then I cannot recommend it highly enough.

Postal 4 doesn’t do anything better than its counterparts. The gameplay is a mix of bad and mediocre and almost all the attempts at humour fell flat. Perhaps there's some guilty pleasure to be had if you're a die-hard Postal fan, however you're better off going back to Postal 2 or Postal Redux as you will likely find this too tame. When the game has been optimized and fixed it may have some entertainment, but for now this is a hard miss.

Brigandine: The Legend of Runersia does a great job at combining empire management with turn-based combat, making you feel like you are responsible for your nation’s performance during the war. Smooth gameplay makes the game feel seamless, providing a comfortable experience. While the story feels like a missed opportunity and the game’s mechanics aren’t the best for aggressive players, it is still a solid turn-based strategy experience that will put your tactical skills to the test.

At the end of the day, despite all of its flaws, B.I.O.T.A. is a game about vibes. It's about that feeling of playing games as a kid, those cozy times when everything was so simple. Sure, it's not the most complicated game ever, but I don't think it's trying to be. Above all, this game has heart. It's far from perfect, but what game is? In spite of a multitude of issues, there's a certain charm to the whole project that I can't help but feel enamored by. I look forward to seeing what Small Bros works on in the future.

All in all In My Shadow is a really fun game with a very good, interesting premise that has not been polished. There are a lot of aspects of the game which have been left unfinished, and that most times overshadow its greatness. This could be fixed with some big updates or even a remake, but it will take time and time's a luxury. The game is not one that will be stuck with you forever, nor it will change your life with a rich story, but it is decent. Its gameplay is pretty good and fun, even challenging at times with a lot of interesting, changing characteristics. It feels like some other, more complete and worked out game could be created from In My Shadow; and it could be quite unforgettable, but the game is not there yet.

JANITOR BLEEDS provides a great first-person horror experience where you balance puzzle-solving with hiding from a pursuer who relentlessly hunts you down. The simple graphics and well-timed audio enhance the horror experience, making you dread the pursuit. However, the lack of a story is a missed opportunity that could have immersed the player in the game. Slow loading times and a few gameplay quirks also prevent Janitor Bleeds from becoming the masterpiece it could be.

The House Of The Dead Remake is a lot of fun, especially if you can get a two player co-op/competition going. Even if you can only play the single player mode, you get to experience the classic arcade shooter with achievements, new weapons, various difficulties and a new mode to keep things fresh. Unfortunately, the controls leave a lot to be desired, while getting all the unlockables and achievements in the game will test the patience of even the most hardcore fans. It has its moments, but the flaws stand out just as much as the strengths.

Ogre Kingdoms is a fine DLC to open with for Total War: Warhammer III. It features a faction that is fun to play as with some great characters and some decently powerful units to use. However some elements of the game are poorly explained to the player and the faction doesn't really fit into the Realms Of Chaos campaign as well as they should.

Every once in a while, a game comes around that takes the world by storm, becoming an instant classic. Not only is Elden Ring one such game, it is also one of the most profound among them. FromSoftware’s first foray into the open world genre is nothing short of breathtaking. It effortlessly balances exploration and tough-as-nails action gameplay in a way that has seldom been seen before. While not entirely flawless, it manages to instill a sense of wonder that will make even the most hardened of players feel like a kid again. Although it stumbles, Elden Ring is still leaps and bounds ahead of the competition.

Forgive me Father delivers well on its premise. There’s a real sense of passion and identity to this game. From the story to the visuals to the level design, you can tell the developers have a lot of love for the genres they are working with. There creativity pays off with a great game that pays homage to retro games and films alike. Other than some minor issues that can be ironed out in an update, the game is a fantastic shooter horror that old and new gamers will get a kick out of.

Weird West’s combination of the Wild West mythos with dark fantasy elements brings together an enjoyable RPG experience. Being able to forge your own path through the world with your actions and combat is a fun and enjoyable experience. While there are some noticeable flaws, Weird West does a great job of giving you the tools you make to create your own legend in the West.

This title just doesn't bring enough to the indie market for the price it's being sold at. If at all possible, my final suggestion would be trying to get a mobile version up and running. I really think Eggcelerate! would crush it on the IOS and Android markets. However, as it stands now, the Winter Expansion doesn't really add enough to justify paying $8 for it, the base game feels more like trial-and-error than a test of skill, and there's little to no reason for me to beat the allotted time in this time trial racer. Pick it up if it seems fun, but I would recommend waiting for improvements.

I rarely fall in love with games at first sight, but The Cruel King and The Great Hero captured my heart from the very first time I laid eyes on this fantasy RPG. Mind you, it does have its flaws (and quite the frustrating ones), but they can be forgiven. Just focus on the enchanting melody and the aesthetically pleasing visuals and you’ll be golden! Now, if you’ll excuse me, I must get back to my bedtime story.

This game is the definition of a mixed bag for me. This game is what you get when you mix amazing talent (music, art) with a rushed timetable and an unremarkable story and writing style. There are a lot of aspects that made me feel I was playing an Early Access or Beta game, but this has been indeed released, and it's selling for 30 bucks. Considering the amount of content and the quality of the experience, the score suffers, because it does not live up to a $30 game. The bads are not terrible and luckily the goods are really good, so I can go slightly above 5 with this one. If you don't mind about bland story and bad dialogues and are itching for a short and sweet colossus fighter with aerial combat, then pick this one up. Although, maybe when it goes on sale.

I really enjoyed playing Strange Horticulture. Although at times the puzzles were a little too challenging, it’s certainly a game I would—one—play again, and—two—absolutely recommend to others. It’s not simply filled with puzzles, but the educational aspect is really entertaining, as you learn useful facts about the many different plants. I may not have a green thumb, but this game certainly makes me want to get one—even if only virtual!

Total War: Warhammer III is a fantastic game, with some great factions, brilliant production value, and some much welcome quality of life improvements. However, the game at launch is rather buggy and the main campaign might be too narrative heavy for some.

Overall, Battle Cry of Freedom provides a fun and immersive Civil War experience that I hope to see grow further with future updates. For Civil War buffs, the game offers a good amount of historic immersion through the character creator, the available classes and combat roles, and the background music. The war simulator fan can enjoy combat that strikes a solid balance between historical accuracy and enjoyability. The game makes some ambitious promises, with massive maps and large amounts of people playing simultaneously, combined with a user-friendly gameplay. In this goal, it seems to have largely succeeded.

A Musical Story is honestly a fantastic entry in the rhythm game genre. Combining storytelling and rhythm gameplay makes it very original. What's special is that it almost teaches you how to listen to music because of the way that you have to play the game, challenging you without making it impossible, creating a rewarding experience that you can take away from. The songs themselves are so good to listen to and play that you'll probably find yourself wanting to play them again. The story itself certainly makes the game worth playing from start to finish, with great characters and settings. The 70s backdrop gives it that extra edge. The central character Gabriel, while with his own flaws and personal battles, is very endearing. The love interest Amelia also makes a great addition to the cast, her presence and the romance not feeling too forced. All in all, A Musical Story takes you on a special journey, and it would be great to see more games like this.

Overall, this pack isn't perfect, but weddings are now more of a special affair with more options given, which was the aim. Hopefully, the bugs and issues can be ironed out with patches.

Martha Is Dead intrigued me throughout its short seven hour runtime. I was surprised by how much I enjoyed this title despite the constant amount of stability issues I encountered. This game plays more like a mystery with a couple of disturbing revelations. Martha Is Dead is certainly not for the faint of heart but those that embark on this journey will have an engrossing narrative that is bolstered by its gameplay and audio elements.

Atelier Sophie 2 is a lighthearted yet engaging experience that is well balanced. Sporting first-class character design, music, visuals and combat. There is potential to get lost in this dreamworld, with most of the grind being trimmed allowing the player to simply engage. It does have it's rough edges, but depending on your interpretation and expectations of the story. Not for the hard of heart, it's plain to see that the team behind Atelier has a deep love for their craft.

Sucker for Love: First Date is a perfect experience for anyone unfamiliar with dating simulators who want something with a bit more substance. This title is amusing for anyone who plays it and doesn't focus on the dating element to the point where it's uncomfortable. It's got a good few hours of gameplay and despite it's lack of story it's still got several mechanics which will no doubt keep you coming back until you've seen every possible ending.

Birds With Guns is a fast-paced and fun action game with a great arcade flavour, a little roguelike spice, with a garnish of a great soundtrack thrown in. However, as fun as it is, the gamepad controls feel undercooked, and the overall game might feel too short for gamers hoping more a longer experience.
