RESTLESS SOUL takes nostalgic minimalism and runs with it. The game presents enjoyable challenges through a combination of simple and familiar gameplay elements that anyone can pick up and play. I'd say this is a must-play this Halloween 2022, and even beyond - especially if you're a scaredy cat, like me!- KeenGamer

Immortality is a story of art and authority and the humans responsible for all the best and worst aspects of moviemaking, and it's also a step forward in the way stories can be told through the interactive movie genre. A hidden mystery under the initial intrigue of trying to find out what happened to missing actress Marissa Marcel, and the way it's discovered, is the gem at the heart of this beautifully shot, acted, and scored production.- KeenGamer

Video Game Fables does a fantastic job telling a light-hearted story that deconstructs the RPG genre. You can’t help but laugh when something ridiculous is pointed out or a character tries something unexpected. Gameplay is solid for an RPG, while the visuals and audio work well to contribute to the light-hearted atmosphere. Camera angles can be a problem, and combat can feel repetitive without large character differences. Despite those minor shortcomings, you will still have lots of fun reversing roles and poking fun at the RPG genre.- KeenGamer

Hillbilly Doomsday is a fine indie shooter with a solid gameplay loop, imaginative baddies, and an enjoyable soundtrack. Fans of the genre will find a lot to enjoy from this one. However it is rather rough around the edges, with frequent slow down in some areas and the platforming sequences feeling a tad imprecise at times.- KeenGamer

Rollerdrome is a ton of fun and is undoubtably worth the asking price at launch. To see Roll7 go from developing the more simplistic OlliOlli games to producing something on this level is amazing. The engaging mechanics and stunning visuals come together to create something truly special. It is just a real shame that there is no multiplayer functionality currently present in the game.- KeenGamer

Thymesia is a game plagued by its own potential and how high it could have soared. Even then, what we have left is a respectable Souls-like that, while not too difficult, provides an innovative spin on combat that captures a few flickers from games like Bloodborne and Sekiro. If you can tolerate the lack of enemy variety and samey level design, Thymesia may make you a little lovesick.- KeenGamer

Cartel Tycoon provides a complex business simulator with many moving parts. It is a challenge to learn, but the game provides everything you need to know in an easily digestible way. There are enough obstacles that you can constantly challenge yourself and be entertained by your success in the narcotics trade. Unfortunately, some mechanics are too complex for their own good and the game isn’t always clear on what some things can do. It’s a good survival simulator, but dragged down by its own preventable flaws.- KeenGamer

Azure Striker Gunvolt 3 forgets all about the past to create a new path for itself, which was risky, but it paid off. Kirin is the best protagonist the series ever had, with a playstyle that encourages proactively setting up defenses while attacking relentlessly. Even if the story left a bit to be desired, Gunvolt 3 is a step up from an already strong franchise.- KeenGamer

The whole point of The Sims 4 High School Years Expansion is to expand your teen Sims' lives - and it does not fail in that mission at all. Before this Expansion came along, teen Sims felt a little overlooked, but High School Years ensures that will never happen again. It's not perfect, there's always room for improvement, but this is certainly an Expansion worth investing in if you want to expand your gameplay, plus the new clothes, objects and world are a great addition.- KeenGamer

Franken is a brilliantly written and designed Indie JRPG and in all honesty, is possibly one of the best written games of 2022. With a sharp and well-written script, there is bound to be something you'll find funny along the way. However, the title might be too short and lacking in gameplay nuance for some.- KeenGamer

Monster Sanctuary doesn’t tread much new ground when it comes to either platforming or monster training. At the same time, it perfectly combines both concepts together to create an experience that is not only fun, but creative. Players can create monster teams however they like without worrying that they are making a terrible mistake, and can come up with their own strategies. While everything else is normal, it’s a good sign that the game sticks to the fundamentals of what makes a game enjoyable.- KeenGamer

All-in-all, Time on Frog Island isn't a bad game, but there is room for improvement. The story, location, and characters are certainly intriguing, but you're not really given much detail behind them to make you feel more invested, which feels like a missed opportunity. The gameplay concept is also good, but has flaws, such as the lack of mini map or task list to help you when you become lost. There's not much to complain about in the graphics and sound department; they match the game's theme well and are useful to the gameplay. In summary, if you like exploring and trading and meeting frog people, you should spend some Time on Frog Island.- KeenGamer

More than a lot of games I’ve played, this one is not for everyone. It is very important to stress that if you are hoping for exciting, varied content, then this is absolutely not the title for you; you’ll end up bored within the first hour. However, if you’re interested in a little creativity and experimentation, or perhaps just have a genuine flair for city planning, then a lot of work has gone into making Urbek City Builder something really special. The constant shifting of the buildings never stopped being exciting for me in hours of play. The staggering variety of possible buildings and city structures promise near endless content if you’re the type of person who enjoys that laid-back, Sunday morning project atmosphere. If you are, then you’ll have a lot of fun with this game.- KeenGamer

Blade Runner: Enhanced Edition, for the most part, is an excellent remaster of the fantastic original 1997 game. The story, writing, and voice acting still hold up today, and you will be hooked from start to finish. The gameplay, while basic, is exactly what it needs to be. The only core issues are the gameplay and audio bugs and some of the default options not being ideal. For only $9.99, it is an absolute steal considering the game's high replay value.- KeenGamer

Shotgun King: The Final Checkmate is a lot of fun. It combines a host of different gameplay styles and traits into a single title in a way that doesn't feel like it clashes with itself. This creates a game that is great to pick up and play for a short break or something longer. But be warned, this game can be hard as nails at the best of times.- KeenGamer

Dragon Forge has the makings of a solid base management game, providing a solid foundation for getting you started. However, having to wait for mana generation and awkward construction elements make base building harder than it needs to be. You are also thrown into the deep end when it comes to learning other parts of the game, such as combat or flight. The game has potential, but it seems to stop itself from being fun without realizing it.- KeenGamer

Although Rogues Heroes is another Zelda-esque dungeon crawler, it sets itself apart with its numerous class options, captivating environments, and addictive gameplay! The game has bugs and glitches, which can be annoying, especially in co-op mode. Nonetheless, it offers an entertaining adventure you won’t want to miss!- KeenGamer

Stray is a true ode to both adventure games and cats. The game is expertly crafted with satisfying gameplay, a brilliant art style, and an even better story. A strong contender for indie game of the year, Stray will dig it’s claws into you from the very beginning and it wont let go.- KeenGamer

MADiSON is an excellent psychological horror title bolstered by clever puzzles and a constant atmosphere of dread. It's well-paced giving players just enough of a breath to then take on the next challenge. Some quality of life updates, such as increasing the number of options in the settings and removing the safe could benefit the game. Ultimately however, those are only small issues in an otherwise fantastic game.- KeenGamer

Tunic is truly a masterpiece of game design: a modern day Zelda with all the complexity it needs to thrive with gamers today. If you like running around a beautiful fantasy land, sword fighting fantasy baddies, or translating ancient languages, Tunic will have something for you to sink your teeth into. If you haven't already, I'd highly recommend picking this foxy little gem up.- KeenGamer

Hitman 3 is a worthy end to a fantastic trilogy which does justice to this legendary franchise. Its willingness to put the power into the gamer's hand gives a sense of freedom which few other games can rival. A must-buy for fans of the stealth genre.- KeenGamer

Smilemo is primarily a game about challenging yourself to get past difficult obstacles. You will spend hours trying to complete stages, making small steps of progress. Your work can easily be undone by a few mistakes, and this will be frustrating for casual players. If you are looking for a challenging 2D platformer that will test the limits of your patience, this is the game for you. If you are a casual player looking for a fun game to relax, it would be better to look elsewhere.- KeenGamer

This Game Pack introduces werewolves to The Sims 4, and they've honestly done a really good job with this supernatural occult. Werewolves are fun to play as and bring a new challenge to the game. The new world Moonwood Mill is a great place to live if you want to play as a werewolf, and there's plenty of great new clothing and objects as well. Some things could be better, with rampage mode not being as impactful as it could have been, plus you can only really make the most of being a werewolf in Moonwood Mill, but otherwise The Sims 4 Werewolves doesn't disappoint.- KeenGamer

DNF Duel is the one. It's the game that the hardcore fighting game community has been waiting for years to come and successfully merges casual appeal with hardcore potential. It may be more skewed to beginners than Guilty Gear Strive, but that only makes it more attractive for the new audience. The only apparent downsides reside in the lack of depth in the single-player content and some balancing quirks that can get fixed as time goes on. Looking at its reduced price point in comparison to other AAA fighters, it also offers a lot of bang for your buck if you're willing to play the online ladder.- KeenGamer

Eternal Threads does a great job at combining narratives together to tell an engaging and interesting story. Being able to affect different events and change outcomes also provides another level of story enjoyment, especially when changing the past doesn’t always have an optimal outcome. While the graphical issues and voice acting could have been better, Eternal Threads is still a great narrative game that will have you thinking about it long after you finish playing.- KeenGamer

The Quarry's narrative easily surpasses previous The Dark Pictures Anthology entries with an engaging cast of characters and interesting mystery. Unfortunately, The Quarry plays better as a film rather than a video game as there aren't a whole lot of opportunities for players to explore or interact with the world. Still, with a fun story, difficult decisions, and an all-start cast, The Quarry is nonetheless a step in the right direction for developer Supermassive.- KeenGamer

Very Very Valet hits its mark as a family-friendly co-op game in the style of Overcooked, but doesn't quite deliver when it comes to the variety and amount of levels on offer. It's still fun to play whether solo or with friiends, but it only takes a couple of hours to complete. However, upping the difficulty with the Expert Rulebook, and playing the minigames adds a bit more longevity to the impressive indie.- KeenGamer

I don't know what it is with me and towers, but Tokoyo is the third game in a row with a tower in it that I've reviewed. Alright, fine, down to business. Should you buy Tokoyo? Maybe. What will decide it is how important story is to you and your tolerance level for pandering. From a gameplay perspective, Tokoyo is solid, even fun sometimes. There's some interesting ideas and I really liked the design. But, I'm not going to keep playing it now that the review is done. If you do decide to buy it, I suggest getting the Steam version. The Switch release is only available in certain countries, and the Steam one has a bunch of extra features.- KeenGamer

Rune Factory 5 certainly has its flaws. But don't we all? At the end of the day, the FPS drops and asset pop-ins were easy enough to ignore, and don't prevent the charm of Rune Factory 5 from shining through. It is still a very solid title on the Switch, and one that I would recommend to any lover of the farming sim genre.- KeenGamer

If Dwerve is what a tower defense dungeon-crawling hybrid looks like, sign me up for the genre. With its fun and dynamic gameplay, the game managed to quickly dispel any reservations I had about this type of game prior to playing it. Although sometimes a bit too straightforward for my tastes lore-wise, the game is a fun journey through a fascinating world. And the feeling of winning a 1 v infinite, eventually triumphing against seemingly impossible odds, is one beyond compare.- KeenGamer
