It is quite clear that cel-shading has given this game a charm and grace lacking in other games. You would do yourself a grave injustice if you dismissed this game because of the use of cel-shading.

Without a doubt, BioShock is a shoe-in for hordes of Game of the Year nominations. It’s certainly among my favorite titles of the year, and I highly recommend it to all gamers, whether you’ve got an Xbox 360 or a gaming PC. If you haven’t played it yet, then I suggest you at least go out and give the demo a try.

The lasting appeal of Twilight Princess is one of its main selling points. It is immense. Averaging around 50 hours (only for the main quest), it will keep players busy for a long time.

There's no getting around it, God of War is definitely not for kids. The game features nudity, sex, and a whole lot of blood and gore that make it a no-brainer why it was branded with an M rating. God of War is one of the bloodiest games I've played in quite some time, but also one of the best.

My favorite character personality is an assassin droid who, in calm tones, always asks you if he can shoot the person you're talking to. Or the person around them. He just wants to kill something.

God of War II is an amazing game and has everything from great graphics and great sound, to fun combat and an exciting story that make this one of the most epic titles in a long time.

Although it is not quite up to par with Zelda, it certainly is in a category of its own. It has a true sense of art and unique style, will captivate many players, and will make a sequel a must.

One of the best games available for the original PlayStation. With all of the new features available, Symphony of the Night is very different from the previous games in the Castlevania series, but it also stands out as one of the best.

With a good story, great graphics, and the fact that it’s an all-around fun game, The Sands of Time is something that is highly recommended and definitely should not be missed by any gamer.

The gameplay is rock solid, the replay value is very high, and graphics and sound are very sharp and detailed.

What will keep you playing through all that time is not just all the neat moves or the excellent graphics but the well-crafted and humorous story.

Take the excellent formula to the original Pikmin and combine it with new Pikmin colors, a new character and a versus mode and you've obviously got a great game. Still, I found the sublevels and the limitations on being able to collect the white and purple Pikmin pretty tedious.

Great story, puzzles, adventure, Force powers – you know, it is difficult to find any weak spots in Jedi Outcast. One could say that it is a bit too linear – there is almost always only one way of progressing.

It's a huge, old-fashioned monster of a game, which both makes the game work and provides a fair bit of frustration. However, none of that can really deny how much fun the game can be when it's really on top of things.

While this version of Symphony of the Night may not be as original, innovative, or graphically modern as the original version was back in the day, it’s still a very solid game, with great enhancements and a price that you just can’t beat.

The game far surpassed my expectations. Even if you're not a huge Zelda fan, TMC is easy to pick up and has a way of enthralling you right from the get-go.

A spectacular experience, not an intellectual one. Do not search for subtleties here or in-depth plots here – this is not a game that will win awards for its storyline or richness of character.

To my surprise, Dawn of Sorrow struck all the right chords and never hit a sour note. It's deep, it's gorgeous, but most of all, it's a fun excuse to smack the tar out of stuff.

There is a bare minimum of interactable items, namely, computer screens and boxes you can push for absolutely no reason. While the computer screens are neat in the way they're used, it's just not enough.

Overall, Jeanne d’Arc is possibly the best strategy-RPG found on the PSP.

This time around the normal difficulty of the Special Edition version is equivalent to the easy difficulty of the original. Of course, this adds an even easier difficulty to the Special Edition version, which almost makes the game a little too easy.

While some players might not like the drastic change from the original Jak and Daxter, I found it to be very fun and absolutely loved it.

Emotional, delightful, amazing. Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door is a work of art no Mario fan will want to miss.

There are plenty of reasons to keep on playing Puzzle Quest even after you’ve beaten it the first time! Not only is Puzzle Quest a lengthy adventure, but you can play along with a friend on Live and battle it out, go for a quick fight with Instant Action, or play a customized battle and Choose Your Opponent. Not to mention gamers may want to toy with the various difficulty and time settings for the game if you want a new challenge.

A very large game in every respect. A long narrative, huge worlds, more secrets than you can shake a giant evil-slaying key at, more characters, more moves, bigger explosions, enormous hordes of Heartless, it's all here.

Overall, Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 3 is one of the most impressive RPGs to be found on the PlayStation 2 console in quite some time.

In this, the game succeeds at being the Empire Strikes Back to its predecessor's New Hope. It's not easy to love, but it's worth playing.

A plot that is both epic and comical, a quirky and addictive battle system, beautiful graphics and music, and retro charm. Along with Meteos, this is a DS must-have.

With no big battles, mesmerizing graphics, or frustrating challenges, Animal Crossing plummets the player into a new, relaxed world, where your only concerns are to meet the animals, find all species of fish and bugs, excavate ancient fossils, and of course, pay your seemingly endless mortgage to Tom Nook.

The game will give you plenty to do. Not only are there lots of mini games, sidequests, and optional bosses but the whole adventure will be around 80 hours!

The download is pricey, but the content is varied, interesting, and most important, plentiful.

Two Thrones features everything that you would hope for in a finale, and definitely will not disappoint fans of the Prince of Persia series.

This is a game to be played for hours on end. And if you can find me a hack that allows me to save the game whenever I wish, I will recommend you for a Knighthood!

The result may be a shiny bauble of a new game, but under that thin veneer and Molyneuxite fan worship beats the heart of a truncated action title. Short on gameplay, long on flash. Short on true RPG depth and long on empty hype.

A lengthy, two-disc tale with all the sidequesting most people could ever want, Shadow Hearts: Covenant took me nearly 40 hours start to finish. And yet, after all that I still wanted to keep playing, yet another sign of greatness.

A great handheld game. Though it doesn't offer the sort of depth or complexity your typical RPG will, the game is perfect for the sort of places a handheld was made to go, entertaining without being overly taxing.

While it’s not without some flaws, Space Rangers 2 is a lengthy, innovative experience that offers gamers the freedom to play the game the way they want to play it.

With lots and lots of unlockable specials in the game, including interviews with the cast, still shots, and three extra characters, Return of the King can keep players going for longer than a normal hack-n-slash.

While some of the game exceeds that of the console counterparts, problems with load times, camera angles, and some unstable frame rates hold it back.

A solid RTS experience. With beautiful graphics and sound, balanced gameplay, and six different factions to play as, RTS fans won’t want to miss this one!

Even though the characters aren’t quite as interesting as those seen in the original, Disgaea 2 remains one of the best strategy-RPGs out there.

If you haven’t played either of the predecessors to Jak 3, it’s highly recommended that you do so before playing through this one, or at least Jak II that is.

While Sly 3: Honor Among Thieves is a great game, it still features a few things that could have been done better, such as the multiplayer or the 3-D, which probably should have just of been left out.

One of the most unique games to hit all the systems. Aside from not being very long, everything else in the game works wonders, whether it be the soundtrack, graphics, or controls.

While lacking a great storyline and a camera in the game that could have been so much better, these are things that can be easily overlooked when you consider all the fun gameplay options available to you.

Persona 2 is a large game. With a lengthy main quest, plenty of side quests, replay incentives, and even a bonus dungeon available from cleared data, there's no shortage of things to do and discover.

Rogue Galaxy features a great artistic style with bright colors and a lot of detail.

I thought this game was fantastic. It kept me entertained for many hours, and it is a game that I am sure I will revisit many times.

While "X-Men Legends: Rise of Apocalypse" might have some problems, the option to play as Magneto and the rest of the Brotherhood is an excellent addition to an already interesting game.

If you are looking for a radically new and innovative gaming experience, steer clear of Neverwinter Nights 2. This is very much like a second helping of Neverwinter Nights, albeit a tad longer and more complex. Which, come to think of it, ain’t such a bad thing after all.

Whether you’re a comic book fan, RPG lover, or someone with a passion for multiplayer gaming, Marvel: Ultimate Alliance is exactly what you’re looking for.

When it comes down to it, Digital Devil Saga 2 really isn't that different from the original.

Highly recommended for a fan of the genre, someone who loves the gothic style of gaming or just anyone who wants to add another Dante-related game into their collection. Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne is a must have.

All in all, Puzzle Quest is an addictive experience that should easily please both the hardcore and casual gamer. The enjoyable puzzle-style gameplay and the easy learning curve also make it a great way to introduce newcomers to the RPG genre.

While the games co-op play is an excellent addition, the decrease in weaponry, platforming and overall use of Clank seems a little odd for the series.

It is amazing how many different stats go into the Phantom Brave.

Its adult themes might raise eyebrows amongst some players, but after the world of Temeria draws them in to its clutches they’ll find a riveting storyline in an immersive world that creates one of the most memorable RPG experiences of recent years.

All said, the nasty, evil puzzles gave me a terrible impression while struggling through the games mid-section, but the last chapter and the game's humor saved it from a dismal grade.

It is a rare thing in this age of sequels and franchises to see a new IP stand out so boldly, and although it was a calculated risk, Ubisoft should be applauded for blazing a new trail.

It’s not an adventure that’s going to blow gamers away, but for hardcore Oblivion lovers like myself, it gives us an excuse to keep on playing!

A little slow at times, and it's one of the harder Playstation games I can think of. Along with the linearity of the game, these features may turn a lot of gamers away from Parasite Eve before it's been given a fair chance...[But w]ith groundbreaking graphics and a great style of gameplay, Parasite Eve has become a classic that no RPG fan should be without.

The story is almost insulting until nearly the end, I didn’t like the characters, and combat was by and large pretty boring with all too many encounters.

With a few changes, an interesting story, and a great presentation, Soul Reaver 2 carries on much of the same greatness of the original.

I would have to say the single feature that most caught my attention would have to be the emotional points. Started in the original Star Ocean game, it has been honed and perfected in the sequel (I am told it's better in the next in the series).

Baten Kaitos has more than just a story. It features a strangely intuitive battle system built around decks of cards called Magnus.

A gameplay experience in the 20-60 hour range...That said, the debilitating single-player deficiencies, along with the outrageous hardware requirements for multiplayer caused my rating to take a significant hit downward.

An ambitious effort, and a definite success. Conveying an interesting story with beautiful graphics, great voice acting, a nice soundtrack, and a tight control scheme, very few flaws are to be found in SpellForce 2.

A fun game that takes a while to fully complete, one filled with conspiracies in the world of vampires, tales of Gehenna, the vampire apocalypse, mysterious plots, and more. On the other, we've got serious problems that incredibly interrupt the gameplay, long and frequent loading times, and mechanical errors that make me want to cry.

While Valkyrie Profile: Lenneth has a few minor flaws with save points, new additions and so on, it arguably could be the best RPG for the PSP.

The puzzles are challenging, the gameplay is deep, the environments are stunning, and the music is great. Still, after waiting so long for the game I couldn’t help but be at least a little bit disappointed, particularly when it comes to the game’s length.

The not-so-obvious story, sound and graphics take away from this excellent game. The game is definitely an experience worth trying, but don’t expect a long ride!

While neither storyline is particularly grand, they manage to still be pretty enjoyable.

While it does lend itself towards anime lovers, it is wonderfully done and I believe that everyone will find SOMETHING they enjoy about this game. You'll receive days, if not weeks, of pleasure from Ragnarok Online.

LDON revitalized Everquest. It has greatly increased ease of finding pickup groups, provides an alternative to areas overcamped in prime time and is just plain FUN.

What this game lacks in action-packed adventure and evil villains, it more than makes up in addictive gameplay, vibrant graphics, and longevity.
