Trials fusion is pretty much the same as its predecessors. The great gameplay is still there, in a shinier outfit. The expanded Track Editor and extra challenges give the game a lot of replay value, and tricks make for extra variety. Trials Fusion is a great Trials-game.

    Fez
Fez belongs in everyone’s collections. It’s one of the most stylish games of recent years and doesn’t lose its grip of you after your first step in the world. Playing with the 3D block world is still surprising and entertaining, even though the game is two years old by now.

Although the ending is far from perfect, Burial at Sea Episode 2 finishes the whole series neatly. From open questions to small plotholes from the previous games: nearly everything gets an answer. Episode 2 doesn’t just tell an amazing story, but it also enriches your experiences with infinite and even the Original BioShock. This is how a series like this should be concluded.

Reaper of souls is the perfect addition to Diablo 3 with loot 2.0. Loot feels less crappy, the Crusader is an interesting class – aside from the story – Act V is a pleasant experience. The strongest addition is the Adventure Mode though, that offers a whole new way to play.

It might not be Layton's or Wright's best game, but Professor Layton vs. Phoenix Wright is a fun and weird game that doesn't shy away from a lot of text, tough puzzles and an entertaining, but convoluted story.

Not only the best inFamous game yet, it's also one of the best PlayStation 4 games you can get right now. Newcomers won't miss a thing thanks to the introduction of hero Delsin Rowe, and they get four powers instead of one this time around. inFamous: Second Son is a joy to play.

Ground Zeroes isn't an unqualified success. The game is too short for its price and appears to be lacking a few Metal Gear-genes. It does, however, offer freedom in an open world, shows off the gameplay evolution the Metal Gear franchise so desperately needed, and shows off the graphical details that made you buy a next-gen console in the first place.

The final Inazuma Eleven with Mark Evans in the lead, manages to close out the series in style. The soccer matches remain a lot of fun to play, with the story as the main driving force. Newcomers will promptly be scared off by the story though, because it requires them to know previous installments.

A House Divided sees Clementine's new group finally developing a little bit. It does the episode some favors. It focuses more on what makes The Walking Dead so great: conversations and confrontations. After this second episode you'll have made enough choices to affect the rest of the season.

Titanfall is an excellent addition to the shooter market. It plays like a dream and the maps all feel like playgrounds. The contrast between playing as a pilot and a Titan is pleasant, and provides the necessary variety. It could’ve used more modes though.

Yoshi's New Island is a huge letdown. It doesn't understand anything of what made the original so special and the result is a profoundly boring game in which high points are merely recognizing many reused elements.

Dark Souls 2 is more and better. Enemies are smarter, and there's a wealth of bosses to find. Drangleic is an immense, beautiful world, amazing design, although it disappoints graphically. Fortunately there's so much content to discover that you'll hardly have time to occupy yourself with that.

Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare doesn’t know its own strengths. With a little bit more content this would’ve been an absolute hit. The PVZ-exterior is wrapping paper for a very entertaining shooter.

With a graphical style and humor that are exactly like what you’d expect from South Park, The Stick of Truth is the most successful South Park-game yet. That the gameplay isn’t as fun as the experience is was created for shouldn’t bother the diehard South Park fan.

Playing through Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 felt more like work than having fun. That has us seriously wondering who this game is meant for. The traditional Castlevania player might get a heart attack from the first enemy that jumps out at you with a laser gun. The Lords of Shadow fan will simply observe regression.

Thief isn't the game that most would've wanted. The core of the series still stands, but is also limited by strange uneven moments. Main character Garret controls nicely and the world looks great, but this story isn't as strong as it was in previous installments. This Thief is at its best, simply does what Garret does best: stealing everything he can.

Strider is a fun action platformer that's a decent homage to the original games from the eighties and nineties. The game could use a creative impulse when it comes to enemies and environments, but you won't want to let it go because of the variety in powers and tight action.

Two and a half hours Left Behind has you laughing, get scared, angry and possibly even cry. The story is touching and the ruthless world of The Last of Us comes through even better than in the original game, due to little nuances in the gameplay. Left Behind is the highest quality of DLC.

Retro does it again with Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freee. The better controls and new characters Disie and Cranky Tropical Freeze make the game a successor that feels completely new. The level design is so perfect that you can't blame the game for a single lost heart. Thanks to the great music and cheerful, detailed levels, even dying isn't a punishment.

Lightning Returns tries to restore the honor of the Final Fantasy franchise as well as being an RPG with modern design sensibilities. Unfortunately, it succeeds in neither. Final Fantasy gameplay elements drown in a mishmash of poor game design and forced choices. This third XIII does have its own charm though. Touching music and the still present FF-magic make Lightning Returns an acceptable RPG.

Fable Anniversary is a game with all the good and less attractive parts of Fable: The Lost Chapters. It concerns a big visual overhaul that doesn’t work as well as it should in every part of the game and should’ve gotten a bit more attention. The strength of this adventure game remains intact though.

Octodad: Dadliest Catch might just be the funniest game of the year. It’s not just the idiotic premise, but also the as insane gameplay with controls that don’t really give you control of anything. Octodad frustrates in the end with some sneaking elements, but by then you’ll have messed around, tripped and spilled so much, that Octodad is without a doubt father of the year.

Carnivores: Dinosaur Hunter HD goes far on the scale of Bear Grylis, but doesn’t go far enough when it comes to survival techniques. It’s cool how the ground shakes and paw prints stay visible, but with a wind, sound and sight meter it’s all too simple. The dinosaurs animations are also laughably bad.

OlliOlli is about a flow; a balance between fun and challenge, in which rhythm and skills are crucial. The game does this in such a convincing manner, that you’ll gladly return for daily grinds, even if it is just to reach that top 100.

Doki-Doki Universe is unexpectedly confronting. With short psychological tests it gets you thinking about the nature of humanity. As a game it doesn't score as well though. The pace is simply too low and the puzzles aren't very challenging.

Bravery Default is mostly built on a strong foundation that Square Enix built up over the last several years with RPGs. It does do a few unique things though. The Brave & Default system is well thought out and the 3DS-functionalities are put to good use during this enormous adventure. Too bad the story is a letdown and it starts of too slowly.

Despite the interesting combo system, Killer Instinct offers too little at the moment. There isn't enough of anything, let alone characters, even though it is a blast from the past to rediscover those. If Killer Instinct ever gets 'more', it might find its way back to the top of the fighting game ranks.
