I would thoroughly recommend this game/s to anyone! You really don’t have to be a long time fan of Mario to enjoy this… it’s easy to get into, it’s not overly detailed in story (3D world you are basically trying to save fairy like creatures from Bowser, in Bowser’s Fury you are essentially trying to save Bowser). It’s bright, colourful and just full of fun and laughter. It’s what Nintendo are known for and what they do oh so well! An easy choice to add to your collection, or to start your collection with!

It's a game full of surprises, but perhaps most importantly, a game that exudes sheer joy.

Two games for the price of one is normally a decent deal… when the games are as engaging and polished as the ones in Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection it’s a fantastic deal. If you’ve loved the Uncharted series in the past then grab a copy. If you’ve always loved The Goonies or Indiana Jones (Naughty Dog doing an Indiana Jones game would be amazing!)… this is as close as you will get to playing that genre! Grab a copy!

It’s graphically amazing, boasts perfect in-game mechanics and overall, the single-player and multiplayer components work on all levels. Yes, it’s pretty much perfect with a great open-world illusion set in beautiful Australia and the only thing is missing, is that smell of rubber!

One of the best Zelda games to date and it’s also the perfect game for the Nintendo Switch due to its portability. It’s a very well-crafted game with some wonderful gaming mechanics and nothing feels contrived or limited but rather, it creates a very engaging open-world experience and one that feels real on so many levels.

Truly a contender for Game of the Year, Spider-Man 2 is a game that justifies the purchase of a PS5 if you don't already own one.

Love Eternal blends demanding gravity-based platforming with an unsettling, abstract horror narrative that lingers long after it ends. Its short runtime keeps the challenge intense while delivering a story that feels strange, emotional, and deliberately open to interpretation. It is the kind of experience that may frustrate you in the moment but rewards you with imagery and ideas that are hard to shake.

A masterclass in design, style, and connection, OlliOlli World perfects the formula and delivers a heartfelt world at the same time.

It gives faces and names to far more of your giant ship’s crew, it finally lets you explore it, it adds a great subplot and companion, and it even adds the best music track in the game– the bumping tech choir sung in the Astropathic Chapel. On the box, it says Void Shadows adds an extra 15 hours of content, but if you’ve beaten the game already, it’s more like an extra playthrough. And for everyone else, you’d be cheating yourself by not buying it from the get-go.

Not only would I recommend playing this game I would put it under the category of required playing especially as it is very competitively priced for a game that has obviously had a huge amount of work put it to perfecting it.

While a port to the PlayStation 5, Hades is still a masterclass in game design on this next-gen console. It flawlessly integrates its incredible story with its exceptional gameplay in ways that very few games have been able to achieve before it. The gameplay is tight, complex and addictively fun to engage with. The visuals are absolutely stunning and the music is phenomenal on the PS5 with none of the “issues” of the Nintendo Switch version. So if you’re seeking a compelling game to invest your time in, this Rogue-Lite game called Hades is absolutely worth it!

It offers a refreshing break from high-octane shooters and competitive multiplayer arenas, asking instead: “What will you build, and how will you get there?” Whether you’re a fan of simulation games, a lover of heavy machinery, or someone simply looking for a unique and immersive co-op experience, RoadCraft delivers in spades. It may not be flashy or fast-paced, but it’s thoughtful, deeply rewarding, and unlike anything else currently available on Xbox Series X.

A casual game that has the ability to appeal to so many gamers.

No longer soul of the lost, and withdrawn from its (PS3) vessel, Bluepoint has transformed a cult classic into a modern next-gen marvel.

With a strong starting point in terms of aircraft to use and the fact that you can fly to/from anywhere in the world and the promise of more content in the future (especially the teased VR update in the not too distant future), I really can’t recommend this enough to fans of flight! Visually stunning and a challenge if you want it to be, or a reasonably calm flight of fancy if you want that. Perhaps a little pricey, but some extreme flight simulators can go for much more, so it’s somewhat relative.

Fatal Fury is a classic franchise that still belongs with the greats of today, and it looks to definitively prove that this year to anyone that hasn’t figured that out yet. It’s already proven itself to me. Oh – and it has an amazing soundtrack as well.

An excellent upgrade to an already phenomenal game. The Switch 2 version of Tears of the Kingdom is the definitive way to play the game.

Absolutely highly recommend. If you were a fan of the originals… jump in without fear of being disappointed. If you are new to CRPGs, grab a copy and start here… it’s layered but you can explore at your own pace and learn as you go… easy to start, not too tricky to “master”… or at least manage.

Batman: Arkham Asylum is the ultimate Batman experience, hands down.

Now more than ever Rocksmith is the game to own when it comes to learning about guitar or Bass and having a blast doing it.

Overall, Deus Ex: Human Revolution lives up to the high expectations that the original Deus Ex set.

Final view… maybe wait for a special as the price tag is pretty high… but if you love the idea of web slinging your way around a large cityscape and thwarting crime definitely grab a copy… it’s a lot of fun!!!

With all the video game movies being made these days (some good some bad)… it is not surprising that God Of War is joining their ranks. The best thing is whether the movie is a success or not… you can play God Of War Ragnarok and feel like you are playing a movie right now! If you’ve enjoyed the previous games or want to see what it’s all about… grab a copy. It’s a brilliant game on many levels and there’s plenty of lore to get caught up in.

If you like the general style of first person shooters but feel they need a bit of a fresh change… this will likely be just what you are looking for. A lot of fun and a beautiful spectacle to take in. Highly recommended!

Just imagine every bad Hollywood car movie slammed into one game and that game is Split/Second. With thoroughly entertaining driving mechanics, the highlight of Split/Second are the power plays or environmental triggers that truly make this game bigger than Ben Herr when it comes to huge Hollywood style explosions and stunts.

Despite the vastly improved graphics, sound and additional tweaks, which do not require knowledge of the original release to be appreciated, It is simply an absolute pleasure playing Sam and Max.

The gameplay is flawless as are the graphics which creates one of the finest games of 2013 and will be a contender for Game of the Year. It's easy to see why this is the most expensive game ever created and will be the most psychological game that you have ever played!

Mario Kart 8 is a return of one of Nintendo’s most beloved franchises, and is just as chaotic as ever.

One of the most unique experiences of this genre in 2016 which includes exceptional gameplay, a fantastic story and truly riveting multiplayer. It’s definitely my favourite Call of Duty to date.

A brilliantly written story and outstanding voice acting. Perfect for a casual weekend play on the XBOX One.

Beautifully presented, slick gameplay and a storyline that in my books is better than the recent films, Batman Arkham Knight is a fitting way to end this franchise.

Hades is a masterclass in game design. It flawlessly integrates its incredible story with its exceptional gameplay in ways that very few games have been able to achieve before it. The gameplay is tight, complex and addictively fun to engage with. The visuals are absolutely stunning and the music is phenomenal. I racked my brain trying to come up with some form of criticism, but the only thing that comes to mind is the rare framerate drops that can occur when the combat arenas overflow with enemies, but this only happened on two or three occasions over the course of my time with the game. Hades has raised the bar for Rogue-lites and is absolutely worth your time.

Watch Dogs: Legion has an enormous amount of replay value and a very compelling storyline with unexpected twists along the way, especially for those who want something thought provoking and gritty.

Gears Tactics makes an odd choice turning away from the main genre that the Gears of War series is well known for but still captures that vital essence that fans have come to love. Playing this game on the Xbox Series X in 4k resolution is an amazing experience for any Gears fans or lovers of strategy games. The gameplay feels incredibly natural running on console and offers a really immersive experience for anyone. I’m especially fond of how much of the lore and content from the Gears series has been used in this game, especially the cinematic aspects that occur when executing a downed enemy. I would highly recommend this game to anyone who has ever played a Gears of War game or is looking for a challenging strategy game.

In total, Shadow of the Erdtree is up there with the best add-ons FromSoftware has released (yes, including Bloodborne: The Old Hunters). A must play for hardcore fans and new players who (wisely) waited for the full package, and highly recommended overall.

Speaking of some of the things Batman does in the game, there are new emphasis on Batman's sleuthing abilities and gadgets to assist in crime scene analysis. This is in addition to the detective mode from the first game. Which is pretty awesome since there are so many new and different things in this game it breaks it up and makes it that much more interesting.

Microsoft Flight Simulator on the XBox Series X is a truly amazing and engaging title on this next-gen console and successfully recreates a flight simulator experience that can be played by novices and experts.

Ratchet & Clank Rift Apart is a wow experience on the PlayStation 5 that boasts next-gen graphics and gameplay to match with multiverse mayhem thrown into the mix!

With perfect gameplay that can be played by all levels of gamers, it also often veterans of the series something sturdy, challenging and difficult but for the average gamer, it makes racing fun.

Freedom Fall is an absolute joy to play. Gamer involving enough to get interested, though past time designed so that a gamer could turn to it for a bit of get away from the real world relief.

Play Assault Android Cactus and revel in its satisfying action, adorable characters, and somehow exciting-yet-calming soundtrack.

If you enjoyed the Kings Quest games and similar titles, you will enjoy Trüberbrook. Hands down, this is a surprising slam dunk. It’s a great story, with twists, humour, problem solving, adventure and mystery. There is also a choice you make at the end, which I suspect provides two endings, so it’s likely to warrant a second play through for this, but you would want to wait a bit between, to appreciate it again.

The single player game is spectacular; now add on some multiplayer mayhem and that make this game skyrocket to the top of our favorites list.

Fast, fierce, and fantastically bloody, Bloodthief outshines its peers with replayability, soundtrack and rewarding exploration!

If you are sensitive to political correctness, easily triggered, uncomfortable with coarse language, or some political and racial overtones as was common at the time, you may want to give this one a miss. But for everyone else, give it a play, it’s actually really fun.

Shadow of the Tomb Raider is a great example of how to do a sequel with an amazing story, great protagonist and gameplay mechanics that just work.

If you're a Halo fan, you've probably already pre-ordered and purchased this game and thankfully the game more than lived up to its hype. Even if you have never played a Halo game before, it's still one of the best first person shooters on any console.

Inside is a masterclass in minimalist design. Enthralling and enjoyable.

Even ‘spoiling’ the game would fail to accurately capture the full extent of what Inside has to offer, and what playing it is like. These might seem like unusual, high-concept ideas for a simple 2D puzzle-platformer, but Inside is a particularly special case.

Pikmin 4 is, to put it simply, Pikmin at its best.

It’s great that Playground Games have not rested on their laurels but have created a game that not only looks amazing but more importantly plays well on the Xbox One/X. The gameplay mechanics work well and whether you’re playing this online or offline, there’s plenty to do and see. Given how much fun I’ve had with Forza Horizon 4, it will definitely become my go to game in the months to come, especially with its online component. So if you’re looking for some racing fun that packs a punch, Forza Horizon 4 is definitely that game!

Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception is not just a game but a true masterpiece in the gaming world which is a must have title for all owners of the PS3.

Metal Gear Solid V Phantom Pain is an interactive piece of art that truly pays homage to the original game and successfully expands the franchise into an open-world game.

The Last of Us Remastered Edition enhances an already perfect game on the PlayStation 3 to something even more powerful on the PS4.

The original Dead Rising shows its age these days but it’s still a fantastic experience for those who can adapt to it. Deluxe Remaster addresses this, adding a whole host of small additions, quality of life improvements and a beautiful graphical overhaul that keeps the core of the game intact. As much as I did miss the original voice cast, Deluxe Remaster cements itself as the way to play Dead Rising.

Bayonetta 2 is perfect on all levels that supports a flawless gaming engine, exceptional graphics and kick-ass female protagonist.

The visuals take full advantage of the PS5’s hardware, with ray tracing delivering breathtaking lighting and realistic detail. And if you’re playing on the PlayStation 5 Pro? Prepare for stunning native 4K resolution and buttery-smooth frame rates that make this an adventure for the ages. This also includes lightning-fast load times to the seamless SSD optimization, every aspect of the game is designed to keep you in the action.

The perfect follow-up to this amazing series.

The game is a bit pricey (when I just checked it was around $114AU) but it is a fantastic story that draws you in and drives you on. If you are a fan of The X-Files or similar genre shows, material… I have no doubt you will enjoy this. An exceptional job from the whole team!

I do believe that new players will not only enjoy Borderlands 3 but will want to go back and play previous titles in the series. Borderlands 3 has only pushed the bar higher and I can only commend the entire development team on creating yet another fantastic game.

A beautiful, emotional, minimalist journey full of wonder and heartbreak.

There’s a lot to enjoy here and the banter between Colt and Julianna is entertaining in and of itself… Colt starting out being very unsure of himself (not even knowing who he is to start with) to (re)gaining his confidence and going on the offensive. There’s a lot of swearing and a lot of blood shed so this clearly isn’t for the younger gamers or those who are sensitive to such things… but for the rest of us this is a lot of fun!

Sackboy: A Big Adventure is a perfect game through and through. The level design is amazing, the story is charming, and the score is fantastic. I know I mentioned this before in the intro, but even though this is a rerelease, I'd say this is my game of the year so far. Genuinely perfect in every way.

The game is exactly what so many fans of the zombie horror films have longed for, for so so long.

Tomb Raider Definitive Edition is a must have game on the PS4!

This is VR done exceptionally well! The visuals are crisp and high quality which draws you into the world to start with. The audio compliments those visuals perfectly by giving you a great mix of atmospheric noises along with fantastic voice acting and compelling music. The puzzles are challenging enough to make you think but not so obscure that you get frustrated. You can actually feel empathy for the spirits you save and seeing their stories play out in front of you is quite moving at times. An absolute must buy if you like a bit of paranormal puzzling.

A wonderfully difficult beat-'em-up that puts the player at the forefront of their very own martial arts epic.

Kena: Bridge of Spirits should take most gamers around 10 to 12 hours to complete, depending on the amount of exploring and the level of difficulty. While the blockbusters games of 2021 continue to deliver the same ho-hum experience of 2021, Kena is a much needed ray of sunshine to the current choices of titles available and more importantly, looks fantastic on the PlayStation 5.

As Dusk Falls exceeds all expectations and is a thoroughly enjoyable and entertaining experience for single and multiplayer alike.

If you missed this game on the previous consoles, now is the perfect time to buy as it contains everything plus RTX and more importantly, it is a fantastic story that draws you in and drives you on. If you are a fan of The X-Files or similar genre shows, material… I have no doubt you will enjoy this. An exceptional job from the whole team!

The bottom line is this is a fully-featured, portable Super Smash Bros. game that looks fantastic, has a ridiculous amount of content and plays exactly like you want it to. This is the perfect place for newcomers to jump into the series and a fantastic title that veterans will absolutely devour.

Minishoot' Adventures is a standout that combines the best elements of two beloved genres into a cohesive and engaging experience.

Alan Wake II is the kind of cinematic, musical, meta-narrative experience that you cannot find anywhere else. Everything in this game is a narrative tool for this monstrous story. We have waited more than a decade to get this game, and the wait was worth it.

The Last of Part II is a very powerful and moving narrative that fully immerses you into the story of Ellie and the world around her. In terms of gameplay, it is a flawless experience on the PlayStation 4 and together, The Last of Us Part II is easily one of the best games in a long-time.

Sorry We’re Closed is a heavily stylized horror action adventure game that bleeds innovation. A bumping soundtrack and comfortable trepidation amalgamate to form a passionate and purposeful experience. An impressive narrative with a comical cast soaks in the exceptional and creative gameplay making this a trip into the demon world you don’t want to miss.

Maestro: The Masterclass is a must have game if you yearn for Guitar Hero but from a conductor perspective which is perfectly executed on the Meta Quest.

Give it a chance and let the world of gaming open up to something uniquely different.

Astro Bot Rescue Mission is not only the best PSVR title to date, but also arguably the best platformer of this generation so far.

A remarkable, captivating, highly enjoyable and unique experience and totally worth it.

Windbound might come across as repetitive in some ways due to the genre of the game, but the journey is well worth every second. I would have liked to have seen a larger map or more challenges to overcome but I still firmly believe that the current balance of elements within the game is already at a good pace that it doesn’t become over or under whelming. Having completed the game, I can see where there would be room for further updates down the track but right now, Windbound is a brilliantly thought out game with amazing execution. Perfect for gamers of all ages, skill levels, and interests.

I don’t have any criticisms for Final Fantasy Tactics – The Invalice Chronicles except the title. Sure, there are games with better stories, or pixel art, or strategic depth; or games with deeper and richer worlds to explore. But the longer I played Tactics the more I kept asking myself how they had managed to fit so much game into a small package. The balance of story, the intricate levelling system, the quaint pixel art and music, with the new addition of rich voice acting – all of it brought Final Fantasy Tactics to life for me in a way that I was not expecting (and I had high expectations). I reckon this Tactics remaster is one of the few games I’ll come back to each year just to refill my cup and remind myself how good this kind of gaming can be.

If you are a fan of point-and-click RPG, hilarious storytelling, or you would like to try a point and click for the first time, then you really can’t go past this game. It is brilliantly written, carefully designed and put together; and most of all, seriously brilliant satire.

College Football 2026 is sport gaming perfection, a marriage made in heaven on the PS5 Pro. Amazingly, EA improved in every way on an already outstanding title.

Luto is a masterful psychological horror experience that transforms grief into a living, breathing environment. Developed by Broken Bird Games, it delivers a deeply emotional and atmospheric journey that challenges players to confront loss through surreal landscapes, intricate puzzles, and haunting environmental storytelling. While it shares DNA with titles like P.T. and Visage, Luto carves out its own identity through bold narrative choices, exceptional audio-visual design, and a powerful sense of introspection. It is not only one of the most memorable horror games in recent years, but a standout achievement in how video games can explore emotional depth with intelligence and originality.

The South Park game we have been waiting for is at last here.

DRAGON BALL: Sparking! ZERO is the newest installment in the action fighting Tenkaichi series! Fight with Goku and friends to take down evil aliens, destroy androids, and win tournaments in the fastest and most impressive Dragon Ball game to date.

Offering a good weekend of binge play, or several days of casual pace, there are a lot of hours of genuine thrilling game play. The DLC is not intended to be the equivalent of the main story line, but it does offer a captivating story and purposeful gameplay, with genuine usable rewards. The ending felt a little predictable, but by no means less satisfying than expected. More precisely, it was so good that you actually are disappointed it finishes.

If there is only one game you buy all year than Oceanhorn should be it, especially if you love those classic Nintendo adventure games.

The Last of Us is truly what a game can aspire to. It’s a full interactive experience package.

Ultimately, Dragon’s Dogma 2 is an odd combination between Skyrim, Elden Ring, and Tears of the Kingdom that scratches a very unique itch. It might not be for everyone, but it’s certainly for someone, and it’ll be exciting to see what kind of DLC Capcom have planned for it.
