Beyond Earth is Civilization V with a new souls. It delivers a bright, perhaps too optimistic view of the future, but its great design will set the goalpost for 4X in the years to come.

Skylanders Trap Team not only plays in a different league from other mobile games, but it’s probably a whole different game. This is the same game you can play on a home console, but here you just need your tablet, because Trap Team’s Starter Pack takes care of everything else. It’s a new way to approach the mobile market, and it’s a winning one.

This game represents a fun and fresh way to change the classic mechanics of the saga, and a cool way to waste your time. The free to pay policy is a little too constraining, but it's still worth playing.

If the fact that the star of this game is a crab with an hat is not enough, you should know that Mr. Crab is a clever platform game, with a smart level design and a lot of replay value.

Like an old time shoot ‘em up but without the shooting mechanics: Helix is an amazing arcade game in which you just have to circle your enemies in order to kill them. And this is surprisingly fun.

Part visual novel, part JRPG, it's a bit more interactive than usual for the genre, but it still lacks any significant innovation.

Surprising and versatile, Project Spark is a very nice videogame editor, with some issues due to its young age and a potentially bright future ahead.

A good remake, with some annoying issues, for one of the best graphical adventures of all time.

Legend of Grimrock II is a wonderful dungeon-crawler and it improves its predecessor in every single aspect. If you love this genre, you'll find a deep, rich, entertaining and satisfying experience.

Animal Crossing + Harvest Moon + Disney... it should be great, but it doesn't really work. There's a lot of content, though.

It's not a revolution but it's still the best you can get if you want a Formula 1 videogame.

12 months after NBA 2K14, Visual Concepts gives us another great basketball game, with the only flaw of being too dependent on online experience limited by 2K’s chronic connectivity issues.

The long awaited Mikami comeback to the survival horror is an interesting but ultimately flawed and frustrating experience. Great atmosphere, but it's not enough.

In this mobile’s version of FIFA 15 there are just a few things, but they are well crafted and engaging. Building your own dream formation is amazing just like the console version, and this is a big win for EA.

Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel tries to shake its gameplay with new, but not always good, elements. Luckily, the core is the same as always, and the game is still very good if played in a group of up to four friends, not that good if you're going to enjoy it solo.

Despite not being as fresh and surprising as the original (which probably remains a better game overall), Bayonetta 2 is a heavenly triumph of excess: not only a sublime action game, but also a true killer application. Simply put, do not miss this one hell of a ride.

Cannon Brawl is a fun and addictive game, a nice change of pace for the Worms formula. Sadly the online multiplayer is a missed opportunity, but it can be improved. Aside that, you'll get a lot a fun. It goes straight to the point and it works really well.

Under the fur of Schrödinger’s Cat And The Raiders Of The Lost Quark there's and old game, flawed by an unresponsive control scheme. Like the '90s, “it smells like teen spirits”: but the scent goes away quickly.
