    Dynasty Warriors: Origins
    Dynasty Warriors: Origins is the revolution long-time fans have been waiting for, but it doesn’t come without compromises. The new entry in the musou series serves as a perfect starting point for newcomers, while still offering enjoyment to veterans and genre enthusiasts thanks to an updated combat system, a level of graphical fidelty finally in line with modern standards, and a solid amount of content. The story is told with a maturity unseen in the series, and despite the protagonist’s lack of charisma, it remains engaging for most of its duration. The absence of co-op mode and the removal of the large playable cast are tough pills to swallow, but Omega Force and Koei Tecmo have clearly made an effort to innovate. While it doesn’t quite shake off some fundamental issues of the genre, Dynasty Warriors: Origins marks a significant step forward for the series and provides a great foundation for its future.

    John Wick Hex
    Fun and entertaining, John Wick Hex hits the target and successfully transforms the hectic action of the movie saga in a brilliant boardgame-like strategic game with a great level design and an intriguing twist. The time management mechanic is crucial, intense and demanding, but quite fair and when dominated give a lot of satisfaction. Sometimes the difficulty curve is not well balanced and, overall, it lacks of the last touch to shine, but it's a solid good game, made with style and care.

    Celebrating 20 years of Mr. Driller with the remaster of its best chapter yet. Too bad there is not much new content, yet the game is very enjoyable both in single player and multiplayer.

    Ascension is exactly the God of War you'd expect: colossal in its scale, technically majestic, insanely gruesome and fun to play. A huge production that shows the brute horsepower of the PS3, while denoting the weaknesses of a series that has reached its peak and needs a breathe of fresh air.

    EA Sports FC 26
    FC 26 shakes off its laziness and pumps some blood into the veins of virtual soccer, putting gameplay back in the spotlight: more credible, more human, with enough heart to move PES nostalgics. The archetypes finally give the players soul, and the career modes regain depth. Of course, it's not all gold: there are flaws, licenses are lacking, cutscenes remain stiff, and there are many microtransactions. FC 26 doesn't revolutionize, but it respects those who play it. It's a step forward, not a quantum leap, and in today's digital soccer world, that's already a lot.

    F1 23
    It may not be remembered as one of the best titles in the series, but F1 23 has many arrows to its bow. From the driving model to the red flags, Codemasters has made an effort to make its simulation more accessible and fun without distorting its soul too much. The return of Braking Point mode is appreciable, while the addition of the F1 World hub is ideal for those looking for a quick challenge and who like to race online. Graphics, AI, and Career mode are aging badly and needing a refresh.

    Dead Rising 4 is the worthy heir of its predecessor. The return of Frank West does not change the gameplay introduced three years ago maintaining all the non-sense on which the saga has built its fame. The price, however, is a lowering of the difficulty far beyond an acceptable sense of challenge.

    To beat Teleglitch: Die More Edition you need a lot of patience and resilience, this game can be hard and cruel sometimes. Behind the lo-fi presentation, there's a wonderful shoot'em up, with a rogue like soul and a touch of horror. You'll get scared a lot. And you're gonna love it.

    Lums
    Lums is a fine physics-based puzzle that brings some light in a crowded genre. It's derivative for sure, but nevertheless it's funny to approach the "physics based puzzle game" in a new light. It's short, though: the 48 levels can last for just three hours, if you don't want to catch all the stars.
