Supraland is a delight with a world that is brimming with secrets to discover. It is slightly too long and does have combat that feels largely superfluous, but the puzzles are consistently inventive and fun.

It might take itself far too seriously, but RIGS delivers where it matters: the gameplay. One of the best games in the PSVR launch lineup.

Not a Hero is a funny and frenzied game that will have you laughing out loud as you attempt to conquer its varied range of challenges, even if there are a few issues with its cover system and level structure.

Sonic Origins collects four great Sonic games and adds some quality of life improvements, but extra content does feel a little sparse.

Sandlot have crafted another ludicrously entertaining, utterly bonkers sci-fi romp. There are more enemies, more guns, more nutty speech, and more missions. It does have limitations. It isn’t going to trouble the best that your PS3 has got to offer in the aesthetic stakes, but I dare anyone – even the most staunch graphics-fan or gaming snob – not to get a kick out of EDF.

TopSpin 2K25 is light on modes, but the gameplay is excellent, leading to tense and exciting matches against the world's very best.

While not the definitive version, Darksiders: Warmastered Edition is no slouch on the Nintendo Switch. Whether played in graphics or performance mode, docked or handheld, it’s still an outstanding version of an already outstanding game.

It’s Animal Crossing, with Disney characters, action sequences and a better-defined “goal”. What’s not to like about that?

A great port of a nine year old PSP game, LocoRoco 2 Remastered is as fun as it has ever been. Colourful and downright adorable, it’s a game that everyone can (and should) play.

Yakuza 5 offers a different kind of open-world experience, giving you more of an immersive game than you may be expecting, even if it does suffer from repetitive combat and long cut scenes.

Battlefield 4′s multiplayer is as bombastic as ever, featuring that exceptional mix of infantry tactics, vehicular warfare and big-budget destruction, and the tweaks to the class system and character progression are welcome (but yet to be fully field-tested). The flipside of the coin is that the campaign is soulless and uninspired, the graphics take a knock in fidelity for the sake of prettiness and the overall package comes out as slightly imbalanced.

Even though the game doesn’t look any better from the previous instalment, Samurai Warriors 4-II’s gameplay is as fun as ever and the story is definitely worth your time.

There may not be any real new features to speak of in Etrian Odyssey Origins Collection, apart from a difficulty selection and a lick of paint, but there is still a huge amount of very enjoyable gameplay.

On paper, this seems like the definitive version because you get all interaction options but while the developers have done their best for the platform, I still think the best way to play this game is on iOS or Android on a phone. If you want an interesting experience on the Switch and don’t want to play on iOS or Android, this game is absolutely worth your time with its low asking price.

Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope is a brilliant sequel full of fun moreish combat and deep customisation that’s only let down by the speed of the battles and a heavy front-loading of ideas.

The asking price of 40$ for a port of 2 3DS games with DLC that cost 40$ on 3DS initially as a package might be a bit much for some but if you’re a fan of action platformers, these are great and this pack is the definitive version of the Gunvolt collection.
