The camera angles in the PSP version of the game are as frustrating as ever. Basically traditional or coach camera modes are the only ones remotely useful.

All in all, the idea of "The Life" mode is more interesting on paper than it is in actual execution.

It's just not executed as well as we've grown to expect. If you're familiar with the first Outbreak, you'll find File #2 to be very much an expansion of that game.

Even by taking the plots from two films, the game is somewhat short, and definitely on the easy side when played on the default difficulty. The multiplayer is fun in bursts, but it's not going to draw players away from the big guns that are currently popular, so I can't imagine it having much of a community past the first few months of release.

If the gameplay could match the quality of the plot or dialogue options then you'd have a real winner here, but as it stands Alpha Protocol isn't a title I'd want to revisit anytime soon.

Probably the biggest problem with Pokemon Stadium 2 is its longevity. The entire game is based around battles. There is no adventure or quest to go on like in the Game Boy games.

There’s a massive gulf between finding a game’s concept charming and actually wanted to play that game, and Bear and Breakfast never comes anywhere close to crossing that gaping chasm.

The first-person action/adventure title does a decent job of fist fights and immersing the player in a mysterious plot. But some of the first person aspects will leave you as frustrated as the protagonist.

Like a cowboy at a punk concert, it’s awkward and really doesn’t belong.

All together, Dynasty Warriors Gundam is a pretty fun diversion for a few hours or so. It definitely has a long shelf life in your collection, as long as you don't mind the very repetitive style of gameplay that these types of games often represent.

It's a simple game, from a simpler time in video game history. Maybe not the best there was, but definitely far from the worst. Would I spend $10 on it? No. Am I glad I got to play it to make sure? Yeah.

To be fair, if Redfall had come out from a different studio with a lesser track record, I could imagine enjoying it a little more. The town of Redfall is pretty and picturesque, and there’s enough of a story here, about trying to take the town back from the vampires and competing cultists, that you could see how it could be turned into a compelling experience. To get there, though, would’ve required a much different game than we have here. Ironically, that different, imaginary game is one that Arkane would’ve been well-suited to make if they’d just stuck with their strengths. Instead, they opted to make this version of Redfall – the one that doesn’t suit them at all – and we’re all the poorer for it.

While the options are bigger this year, I thought last year’s game felt more complete in overall game play.

To the game's credit, it retained one of the things that set Long Song apart: the combat. True, thee's a lot less flying involved, but much like the games before it, Hollow Realization is good at making fighting enemies nice and satisfying...It's just too bad that the same can't be said for anything else here. The first two games in the Sword Art Online franchise showed promise and then delivered, respectively. It's a shame that it's hard to view Hollow Realization as anything but a giant step backwards.

It’s unfortunate because, again, Aztech Forgotten Gods has such an interesting idea at its core. It could have been a great game that really stood out from the crowd, but instead, it’s one that’s not nearly as good as it could have been.

Even though the mini-games are too common and unnecessarily repetitive, and the random cartoon nudity isn't worth the effort, the wonderfully insane dialogue and characters are worth taking a trip to Larry's collegiate adventure.

There's no reason to knock a formula that works, but keeping too close to the formula through five editions is only going to satisfy those who have a truly insatiable thirst for more of the same.

Considering that Insane's graphics are fantastic and it has enough gameplay diversity in its numerous modes to keep people playing for hours on end, it's disappointing that the one of the most basic features of a racing game, its control, ultimately drags the game into the mud.

I'd love to say White Knight Chronicles was the RPG that we've all been waiting for. Unfortunately it's nothing like the RPG I've been waiting for since that first gameplay trailer.

So while Baja is technically impressive, it's also maddeningly difficult, and easily one of the more frustrating racers I've played recently. The controls are unforgiving, and the vehicle damage is definitely realistic but also provides a huge hurdle for actually enjoying the game.

Two Parsecs from Earth does have one mechanic that deserves mentioning: when you unlock a new skill, you have to choose between two, rather than simply getting one, and the skill you don’t pick is blocked off for the rest of the game. Consequently, different choices — say, choosing to dash rather than double-jump, or vice versa — will mean means the game plays out a little differently, which is an interesting wrinkle. Or it would be if the rest of Two Parsecs from Earth was that interesting. Unfortunately, it’s pretty dull beyond that, and only people who really like Metroidvanias need apply.

There are pieces of a great game in Ghostrunner, and again, I’m sure it’s a fantastic experience elsewhere, but on the Switch, it’s more an exercise in frustration than anything else.

Silent Hill: Shattered Memories is frankly, one of the better PSP games I've played. It's certainly not the best on the system, but it's certainly pretty and the sound design is through the roof with proper headphones.

To be fair, during the more traditional gameplay sections, the game performs mostly fine. But seeing as you spend the vast majority of your time here wandering through a hideous open world, the performance is an issue. If you can put up with that thanks to a deep and abiding love of all things Sonic, I wouldn’t fault you – but if you take one look at this ugly mess and decide you don’t want any part of it, I wouldn’t blame you for that either.

Visually, Little Nightmares III is just fine, with the opening two levels again falling somewhat flat while the final two manage to shine just a little more brightly. Overall, this game just feels somewhat rushed, which may be due to the new development team at Supermassive taking the reins to the series. All in all, while there is something to like here, most players will ultimately be let down by a disappointingly empty sequel to a great second title.

I can say that looking a little different than your usual Souls-like isn’t enough to make Stray Blade worth checking out. Unless you’ve always been keen to explore the genre but aren’t skilled enough to actually play the games – in which case, I guess, here’s your chance to try one with a much lower difficulty level – it’s hard to see who’d really enjoy it.
