In fact, that line pretty much sums up the whole game: it's easy to appreciate Metrico on an intellectual level and it's easy to admire what the game is doing on a technical level. But there's a world of difference between admiring a game and loving it, and, unfortunately, Metrico falls very clearly on one side of that divide.

While Scribblenauts Unmasked has all the elements of a Scribblenauts title, it doesn't have the same room for creativity — and that's probably what makes the whole thing feel a little off. Without room for imagination, all that's left is a game that tells you what to do. Admittedly, it's frequently superheroes doing the telling (and that may be more than enough for some people), but that doesn't make it any more fun.

All in all, though, what you see is exactly what you get. You're still trying to get all your mice from Point A to Point B, and you have to do that over and over again.

As a title that doesn't stand out in any particular category other than nostalgia, 1942 still holds up well as the shooter it is.

The gameplay is solid, but there is very little supporting it, and oh so very much holding it at bay.

Gamers with an open mind and a block of time to set aside will find Unison to be something new, something fresh and definitely something different.

With a wide variety of options, fish, lures, modes, and lakes, Sega has done it again by producing a fun and addicting title for fans and non-fans alike.

There are definitely some hurdles you'll have to get over to enjoy this game, but there is certainly fun to be had. For me it was the strategic, puzzle-like single player mode, but for others it may be the ability to alter decks and play against online opponents.

It’s short length (only 5 to 8 hours) and it’s repetitive and sometimes lacking gamplay really hurt it. There’s definitely some good fun to have, but it would be better done through a rental.

For an expansion pack, there is plenty to do and see and it adds a completely new level of variety to your Sims' already busy life.

A solid, if standard platformer if you have some appreciation for Scooby-Doo or if you're looking for a game for the kids.

It's not that you die a lot (I mean, you do, but that's not the problem), it's that the gameplay is essentially pattern recognition and memorization, which doesn't float my boat like it used to.

Overall, the game may be simplistic on the surface, and lack some of the real in depth creating tools that many PC gamers have come to love, but it could also be that the game is also meant to get the controls into the hands of little ones as well.

I think you’ll still need a pre-existing enjoyment of Mobile Suit Gundam going into Gundam Versus to really, really enjoy it, but the framework is definitely here for a unique fighting game. There are so many Mobile Suits to pick from, and a fair amount of unlockable content, so you can easily spend dozens of hours playing. And, thankfully, the online community is present to support those hours of playing, which is certainly a plus. I’d definitely suggest checking it out, whether you’re a fan of Gundam specifically, or giant robot anime in general. There’s a lot of fun to be had with Gundam Versus.

All in all, I found Bubble Bobble 4 Friends to be a really fun take on the old Taito franchise, and a great experience for old and new players alike. It makes for a really solid family game that’s appropriate for all ages, but one with a difficulty curve that won’t make the game a bore for parents or older siblings. So check it out now on the Nintendo Switch, I don’t think you’ll be disappointed.

If soccer is your gig, if you found FIFA too light, Winning Eleven too intense, you should pick up World Tour Soccer.

Arietta of Spirits won’t wow you like some of the best Zelda-inspired games, but it’s still got some niceness at its core. That may not make it a classic, but it’s enough to make it fun enough while it lasts.

Combat has seen some minor improvements, but the missions you're required to play and the side-quest stuff in the city are still pretty bland encounters for the most part, and it's those areas that really need to see the most improvement for the next Spider-Man installment down the line.

For the most part it is a hidden gem, and shows a lot of care put into the inside game jokes and attention to detail in the story.

If you want a game that is fast, gritty, and fun as hell to play with commentary by Madden himself (actually it's the hilarious Frank Caliendo doing his Madden impersonation) then Blitz may be that "shot in the arm" you are looking for.

I am passionate about the Star Wars product and want it to be a great experience top to bottom, so don’t get the wrong idea with my criticisms. I very much like Battlefront 2, it improves on everything from 2015’s game, but it still definitely needs work. Over time this could become the definitive Star Wars multiplayer experience but it’s not there yet; content over the next six to twelve months will be key and how EA treats consumers will also be important on the success of this game. The bigger question I have is; will all these problems at launch doom the title before it really gets going. As DLC was released for 2015’s Battlefront, I saw less and less people playing and had a much harder time getting into match ups. Hopefully that isn’t the case here and we can see this community thrive off what is really a great game that just stumbled out of hyperspace.

Narnia makes for a decent adventure title on both systems, but it fails to do anything new or astounding. The game is also on the short and easy side, even with some of the unlockable extras.

The controls are a bit sluggish and sometimes unresponsive.

I'd say that Brink still has some promise if the lag can get ironed out soon enough; I certainly enjoy the online matches that run smoothly. If I can get into a match with a full 16 players and have it run smoothly, I could easily get months of enjoyment out of Brink.

It’s a nice alternative to a play style that some feel is getting a bit stale already, and if you were a fan of the old school, it’s worth checking out for the free month at least.

The PSP version seems more forgiving than the PS2 version when it comes to collisions with other drivers.

Yes, the game manages to do some things right, as Tati and Griz provide a fast alternative to Rau and Bamusu's cumbersome combat, and yes, there are some enjoyable moments, but these are easily overshadowed by the frustration associated with the AI and overall lack of polish.

The season mode will provide a good amount of playtime, as will multiplayer competition, just do not expect anything beyond these two features as this year’s Madden on the DS is as bare-boned as it gets.
