While somewhat faithful to the cartoon, Avatar: The Last Airbender for the PS2 fails to capture the true essence of the show’s characters in a game that’s short and uninspiring.

It's an average title that could have been a bit better with a multiplayer option and longer storyline, still, any fan of the show will probably enjoy it once they have gotten over the fact that Aang can't leap around and kick butt like he does on the cartoon.

Avatar: The Last Airbender is worth renting if you're a diehard fan of the show (assuming you can find it. Few rentailers offer DS games). But you're better off with the GBA version – a game that spends more time on action and puzzles, and less time trying to re-tell a story the fans are already familiar with.

I expected the same level of quality from Spyro's new beginning – the game that would reinvent the series. But all we got was a rehash – a mistake I hope does not lead to the series' retirement.

RPG lovers take note: Avatar is one of the few original (read: not a port) action/RPGs made for the system.

Accessible, with an easy-to-learn control scheme, this game should appeal to younger players while still providing a minor challenge for slightly older players.
