This war of the vampires is rapid and entertaining, inviting you to a few matches in an atmospheric setting. Even without dice!

Broken Arrow manages a brilliant tightrope walk between strategic depth and action-packed presentation, but struggles with unnecessary difficulty owing to the lack of a save function, among other things.

Did you spend countless hours with tower defense games? Anomaly: Warzone Earth turns the tables and offers tower offense. Presentation, controls and mission design are well done, so it's well worth the money.

Lots of weapnon, fast action, huge explosions and impressive sounds, but no automatic healing or taking cover. Hard Reset was supposed to be old school and it is. It could have been more than just a five-hour-game, though.

The game can be quite challenging, especially in the round-bases game mode, but after one week you've seen all the game has to offer. Nonetheless it's the perfect game for small tournaments from time to time and to give elves a good thrashing.

It doesn't really manage to combine brains and entertainment. That's a pity because it could be a great game.

Clever gameplay with changing worlds drives the action role-playing game, but long-term motivation fails to appear.

Neat shooter remake, which despite its plot weaknesses entertains just as well as back then. Without multiplayer, it is, however, a rather thin package.

Exceptional action spectacle with grandiose drawings and environments, extremely bizarre monsters and teen drama.

An unshakeable gameplay core and some minor innovations save this technically completely outdated game from being a complete letdown.

Atmospheric adaptation of the story as interactive visual novel. Overall a bit too lengthy and static with little gameplay variety.

If you prefer creating things instead of destroying them, please forgo Mercenaries 2: World in Flames. Playing a mercenary in Venezuela you blow up multi-story buildings, restaurants, hotels, factories, cars and boats in several missions. The controls could have been better, but it's still fun, and instead of complaining about the shortfalls of the game you could always just go and blow up something else.

Co-op buccaneers will have fun with Sea of Thieves, but without a character development and more variety regarding missions the hunt for treasures gets boring quickly.

Thymesia offers a fantastic combat system, which, however, can hardly unfold due to the short play time.

An atmospherically dense, but narratively weak tactical game that can't hold a candle to its outstanding predecessor, Mutant Year Zero.

World War Z is a third-person mix of Left 4 Dead and Killing Floor 2 with the biggest enemy hordes I've ever seen in a game. This is really impressive, but at some point you get fed up with it and what's left is a zombie shooter like many others - mind you not a bad one, but not one that absolutely must be played.

Vessel annoyed me at first with the more sub-optimal control, but the more I've played, the more fun but I had it.

Hero shooter for solo players. Despite gameplay flaws it convinces with a diverse heroic war, great campaign and plenty of self-irony.

If you like pure action, just add another 10 to 15 points because of the atmosphere. Everybody else should prepare for a extremely linear action game, but it's still a lot of fun.
