Turning Point's minimalist approach to everything - from its stale levels and sticky controls to its thin plot and absent character development - killed what could've been a really unique and engaging shooter and will disappoint hardcore fans of the genre across the board.

There's still not enough here to keep a kid, a parent playing with their kid, or childish adults engaged for very long, especially since there's so many better (read: deeper) games out there for parents to play with their kids: the Rabbids games, those various dance contests, or any of Nintendo's minigame collections. Sometimes, keeping it simple can be stupid.

Kids who liked "Buzz! Junior: Jungle Party" will surely like this as well because it's almost the same game in a different wrapper. But older gamers will most likley want to let this one pass.

Newcomers to the game will enjoy better introductions elsewhere despite the handy suggest-a-move trappings, and veterans don't get any chess puzzles to tickle their fancy, but at least you won't have to worry about losing pieces in the depths of your carry-on luggage.

While walking in the shoes of a Templar sounds promising, Assassin's Creed Rogue's dull story, uninspired characters, and largely recycled visuals offer little the franchise hasn't already done better.

You'll get at least some satisfaction from seeing your gradual progress over time... until you remember that it just means you're getting better at playing so-so minigames.

The game follows a simple beat 'em up formula that will keep you entertained for awhile, but it lacks so much of the depth and creativity that we expect from the comics and movies.

Unfortunately, in a genre where players expect the newest games to completely blow them away (pun intended), Coded Arms: Contagion's run-of-the-mill FPS action just doesn't impress.

For $19.99, it's a fun, easy to play game that demands nothing of its players other than pointing and shooting...at the aliens.

For fifteen bucks we wanted a lot more game than Madden Arcade delivers. A bland on-field experience coupled with no single-player season/tournament/anything translates into another failed attempt at “extreme” football. Please, just give us our NFL Blitz back!

Eco-Creatures has a good core theme, cute characters, an interesting level editor and an hour or two of fun in it. Otherwise, its muddled approach to real-time strategy and mixed messages make it a gimmicky game that doesn’t quite succeed the way it was intended.

Worthy in its (assumed) intent, and visually spellbinding, The Order’s archaic, player-detached approaches to interaction and narrative nonetheless make it a dated and instantly forgettable experience.

At its core, Virtua Tennis 4 remains a game that can be casually enjoyed by anyone, but for the more serious tennis crowd, it feels outdated and even unresponsive at times.

Fire Emblem Engage resurrects the weapon triangle to great effect, making the turn-based combat feel like a game of death and dares, while an unmemorable cast of characters and an unexplored world sadly drag behind it.

Minecraft Legends has good ideas, but it's ultimately held back by the decision to root its strategy action around a central hero. With a limited field of view, few command inputs, and uninteresting AI, Legends fails to generate compelling combat cycles or opportunities for creative thinking.

In small doses, Little Deviants is an enjoyable experience and a great way to become familiar with the PS Vita's new tech. But beneath all that charm and googly-eyed cuteness, there isn't much to offer beyond the 30 minigames, with a chunk of them repeated on a various maps. It seems like Little Deviants would have been better suited as a tech demo, and should have come bundled with the system.

If you have a modicum of gaming ability, the challenge is simply non-existent for dozens of levels. You’ll simply be going through the motions. Even casual gamers may find TiQal a bit too forgiving for a bit too long. It’s almost too casual.

The actors (not from the film cast) sound utterly bored throughout their lengthy speeches; the only thing that trumps the highly questionable French accents is a guy who actually says "woof woof" on behalf of a virtual dog.

Stronghold 3 is a bizarre third outlier, clinging to an aging formula but making changes that actually feel like a step back. The real crime here isn't that Stronghold 3 is a bad game, it's the disservice done to a series that has provided so much joy in the past, ruining our nostalgia. Somewhere, a child in a tree fort is weeping.

Batman: The Telltale Series squanders its potential with a messy story obsessed with retreading older Batman tales.

Over the course of playing, we weren’t thinking "God this is terrible." We actually weren't thinking much at all because the game flowed along at an unnoticeable level of entertainment delivery. It was just sort of "there" and then it was "gone."

If you're looking for some mindless monster mashing stick with the versus fight-focused PS2 or Wii versions or, better yet, revisit the arcade classic Rampage.

While a few of these games may have some value when played with friends, fans of board games may as well stick to actually playing board games.

Hyrule Warriors has brilliant Zelda fan-service, but is ruined by unimaginative combat and brain-dead enemies.

It's disappointing: you'd think that a game about baking would know a little more about when it's necessary to substitute ingredients.

So the mechanics, narrative, and modes are poorly executed, but the very concept of a mobster strategy/tactics game can’t be denied. It’s a fantastic idea, and the novelty of feeling sort-of-almost-not-really like a mob boss will make the game enjoyable on occasion. Unfortunately, there’s not much here beyond a concept that you can only hope someone, someday will make a great game out of.

It's so dumbed down that it might actually be more appropriate for children if it weren't for the T rating on the package. Just play the 360 version. Actually, scratch that, just go play Spider-Man 2 instead. It's worlds better than this. There are actually parts of this that look like they're right out of the original PlayStation game from 2000.
