Hot Brain is a nice departure from the usual reflex games that you'd most likely be playing on your PSP. Although the puzzle tests are timed, the game's presentation is light-hearted and not intimidating to play.
-
Hot Brain is a fun little game but can start to feel repetitive after a while. The inclusion of unlockables and infrastructure wireless multiplayer would have been nice.
-
What I'm really saying is, Fred Willard is in this game. He's the best thing about this game. That isn't a huge knock, actually -- Fred Willard is pretty much the greatest ever. But this game really relies, knowingly, on Fred Willard. The experience is Fred Willard. Without Fred Willard, this is a slightly subpar game.
-
There is an addicting quality to Hot Brain to try to do better, in a similar way to Brain Age. However, Hot Brain also suffered in the same way that Brain Age did, in that I lost interest in it.
-
Hot Brain's biggest disappointment is the way it squanders an opportunity to treat with IQ-themed mini-game genre with Wario Ware-style irreverence.
-
While there are worse things to do on your morning commute, there are other, potentially more viable ways, of getting what Hot Brain has to offer.
-
You'll get at least some satisfaction from seeing your gradual progress over time... until you remember that it just means you're getting better at playing so-so minigames.
