Being fans of LEGO and puzzle games, we wanted to love LEGO Bricktales. We’ve found it very hard to do so, however. Crashes are one thing, but when the gameplay itself is hampered by fiddly controls and the feeling of repetition, there’s not a great deal of fun to be had.- GameSpew

If you’ve got a lot of patience and don’t mind games that are very slow-paced, Destiny Connect: Tick-Tock Travelers might be worth a look. After all, thanks to its short playing time, it doesn’t require too much investment. Most JRPG fans will find it not entirely fulfilling though. It should be applauded for trying something a bit different, but at the end of the day a dull game is a dull game. And that’s what Destiny Connect: Tick-Tock Travelers is: a dull, but beautiful, game.- GameSpew

If What Comes After can help those dealing with mental health struggles, then that’s a wonderful thing. But it doesn’t cover these topics delicately; its messages aren’t hidden anywhere, they’re in-your-face, front and centre. However, it’s all the other issues What Comes After tries to deal with – deforestation, animal abuse and more – that ruin the experience. As important as all of those issues are, What Comes After doesn’t give enough time for them to have any real purpose or meaning. Had it been more focused, it could have had much more impact.- GameSpew

Siralim wears its many inspirations on its sleeve but unfortunately brings too few new ideas to an already populated genre to stand on its own two feet. Some may be tempted by its obvious Pokemon-inspired roots, and some enjoyment may be found in its creature-collecting and castle building, but most will likely find themselves disappointed with the blandness of it all.- GameSpew

Despite its problems, if you’re a keen online gamer and haven’t grown tired of the zombie epidemic as of yet, Dead Alliance may be worth a shot. Just try to forgive its less than stellar presentation. Oh, and forget about the single player add-on; it’s really not worth your time or money.- GameSpew

It’s not a game without merit, but unfortunately while Overpass 2 does improve on its predecessor in multiple ways it’s still ultimately disappointing. Key to any racing game is the actual feel of driving its vehicles, and it’s in this regard that Overpass 2 is lacking. Add in the unconvincing physics and limited modes, and you have a game that might be worth a try at a discounted price, but should otherwise perhaps be avoided.- GameSpew

It certainly lacks the punch and awe of the more inspired RPGs of late, and it shows the more you play.- GameSpew

With its generic gameplay, drab visuals and lack of modes, Sonic Wings Reunion is a real disappointment. This isn't a bad game by any means, but it does nothing to excite, besides having a wealth of pilots to choose from.- GameSpew

Ultimately, Milky Way Prince – The Vampire Star is too outlandish for its own good and doesn’t make for a satisfying game in its current form. Its audiovisual design is commendable, but with awkward dialogue, peculiar scenes and a hard to follow story, it’s very hard to recommend.- GameSpew

The gameplay is easy to learn, but it doesn’t do much to keep gameplay new and exciting. Its unpalatable themes, even though clearly put there on purpose, could do with being toned down a few notches.- GameSpew

Close to the Sun is a game that’s only remarkable for its scenery. And it’s a shame, really, as the Helios could have carried a great tale. As it is though, while there’s nothing about Close to the Sun that’s broken, there’s nothing compelling enough to make it worth your while, especially with its short run time and lack of replayability.- GameSpew

Even with its frustrations, there’s something alluring about The Plane Effect. Its art style, its eerie and slightly unsettling soundtrack, its dystopian sci-fi vibe; it all leaves you with questions that you’ll be desperate to get answers for. It’s just a shame that the gameplay you’ll need to endure in an attempt to uncover those answers isn’t as enjoyable as it could be.- GameSpew

If you love loot-based games and like the idea of wielding four weapons at once, you can get some enjoyment out of Babylon’s Fall. You’ve got to look past the drab visuals though, and have plenty of patience to get through its opening hours and lack of direction. Ultimately, there are some good ideas here, and some fun moments to be had, but they’re wrapped up in a package that feels rough around the edges and not up to the usual standard that you’d expect from PlatinumGames.- GameSpew

The game has its moments, and just roaming around is good for a couple of minutes of watery entertainment. But its clunky combat and repetitive, tedious gameplay means that, despite its toothy protagonist, Maneater lacks any bite.- GameSpew

It’s quite the comprehensive package. Powering through it all will be a test for many, though. Daemon X Machina has many of the ingredients of a great mech combat game but the end result isn’t wholesome. It’s flat, lacking in flavour, and gets stale all too quickly.- GameSpew

Sure, it’s beautiful — and after the end credits have rolled and you’re free to explore the world, bereft of annoying puzzles, there’s beauty and secrets to be found at every corner — but as an overall experience the unnecessarily obtuse world design and repetitiveness makes Fe stand out only for its frustrations, not its successes.- GameSpew

If you're really into Macross, chances are you'll get more enjoyment out of Macross Shooting Insight than others. Ultimately, though, while it has some good ideas and unique features, this is a mediocre arcade shooter, outclassed by many others in the genre.- GameSpew

As an action game, Feist succeeds on numerous fronts. Its visuals are gorgeous, and cleverly incorporating environmental elements into combat adds an interesting layer of complexity. However, inconsistent difficulty balancing and frame rate problems are glaring issues that belittle the game’s strengths.- GameSpew

Final Vendetta isn’t a bad game, but in trying to ape the classics it loses sight of the true goal post: the games that currently rule the roost. Even then, we’d still rather play the original Final Fight or Streets of Rage than this middling effort that just simply doesn’t feel as welcoming or enjoyable. Ultimately, if you’re a huge fan of the genre and have a great deal of patience you might get some fun out if it, but it’s never going to be remembered as a classic.- GameSpew

Ultimately, it’s hard to recommend Firewall Ultra. Hardcore VR and tactical shooter enthusiasts might get some fun out of it, but for most there’ll simply be too much downtime and not enough variety. Throw in other issues such as the lack of interactivity, and you have a game that is a bit of a disappointment overall. Can things be turned around? Maybe, if developer First Contact Entertainment can act quickly. Already a patch has been released to speed up unlocks and improve matchmaking, but there needs to be more, like additional match types. Player retention is likely to prove the biggest hurdle here, though; it’s simply not fun waiting longer to get enough players to start a match than the length of a match itself.- GameSpew

Predator: Hunting Grounds isn’t a terrible game. Not at all. But it’s just not good enough. The core of the game is decent, but it needs more maps, more interesting objectives when playing as the Fireteam, and simply more polish. On top of that, while playing as the Predator can be fun, you’ve got to be prepared to spend nearly half your time waiting on matchmaking, and then you could just find yourself running around a jungle like a headless chicken if the opposing Fireteam has its collective head screwed on. With a little bit of work and some additional content, Predator: Hunting Grounds could definitely be worth a purchase, but until then, you’re probably best steering clear.- GameSpew

All in all, VEV: Viva Ex Vivo is quite a conflicted game. It gives the impression that it wants to be quite a laid back, almost zen-like experience, yet it’s frustratingly challenging. It’s also as clear as mud when it comes to explaining itself, revelling in throwing science jargon at you to the point where it overcomplicates matters; it’s essentially quite a simple survival game.- GameSpew
