Final Fantasy XVI leaves its RPG roots behind and focuses on action gameplay… And it’s a gamble that works out very well. This is a spectacular, breathtaking game, even if it sometimes buries the good under the average.

Both games this remaster aims to upgrade haven’t really aged at all, at least gameplay-wise. They are still epic, still a bit silly, still beautiful and still charming thanks to their characters. Now everything is just a bit more stunning, sharper, smoother and overall more enjoyable owing to the amazing DualSense.

Gran Turismo 7 keeps to old habits and doesn’t change very much, including graphics. Its automotive love will, however, send you careening back towards your childhood – you won’t stop until you collect every single beautiful car this game has to offer. And race with them, of course, because the driving model is joyous.

An exceptionally well-made action roguelite that builds on the foundations of Returnal, but further develops and improves it in almost every way. Saros excels in particular in its ambiguous, engaging story, top-notch bullet hell action, and addictive gameplay with thoughtful progression. Although it is somewhat detracted from by a lower level of innovation, a sometimes repetitive environment, and a few frustrating moments, it is an extraordinary game that brings the action to near perfection.

Puzzle platformers have discovered a new direction. Swapper philosophizes, pines over, drools, but the main thing is hidden in its gameplay. Swapper is able to clone people. And that is fun.

Super Mario Galaxy 1+2 serve as proof that true classics never age, while the gameplay, creativity and charm of both titles remain fully intact. The port runs smoothly, benefits greatly from 4K resolution and the controls translate surprisingly well. However, it is ultimately just a visual polish without any meaningful improvements, which makes the steep price feel a bit too self-assured.

Undoubtedly one of the prettiest remakes of all time. The original game, rather surprisingly, works great even today (with a few welcome upgrades, of course). The only thing bugging me is the weirdly inconsistent performance.

After their magnificent debut in the form of Mini Metro, Dinosaur Polo Club managed to accomplish something extremely difficult - clear their own raised bar. Mini Motorways is a better game in every department, more beautiful, more relaxing, more complex.

The attempt to diversify Batman's universe by using a controllable Batmobile paradoxically hurts the game by adding too exaggerated arcade action in it. In addition, the creators failed to find a sufficiently strong duo of bad guys after the Joker's death. Nevertheless, Arkham Knight is a dignified farewell to Gotham and an almost perfect action-adventure.

How do you even critique this? The actors are brilliant, the production quality as well, but the game feels random at times and offers very poor gameplay.

Basically, still the same game for twenty years, yet terribly catchy and entertaining – that’s the new Pokémon game. It is however a pity that the authors removed any challenge from story campaign, and that while some minor updates are welcome, other are rather annoying.

Not as ambitious and revolutionary as its predecessor, but still a fantastic game. It boasts several brilliant innovations and is very welcoming towards newer players. I can’t get enough!

Hollow Knight is a charming arcade that will not only inspire Metroid/vania fans. You will never be bored in the enormous and magical environments thanks to the colorful RPG elements, interesting story and unique visuals.

A well-made DLC bringing fights with ground/air machines on large maps for all the fans. Here and there you may get into infantry encounters, but that is not the point. Battlefield 3 successfully expands its possibilities and gaming styles portfolio.

Bigger, better and more challenging, just the way sequels should look like. After slightly weaker previous part we have now an unspoiled experience, which expands, fixes and above all motivates to better performance.

A love letter to the 90s kids which doesn’t try to simply live off the nostalgia but is actually a good game in its own right. It’s very short but there are few better options to relive the good old arcade days.

The Witness is an excellent trainer of a wit and logical thinking. Just don’t expect anything more from this game. Puzzles miss any ideas, they are served without a feeling and -oddly enough- quite illogically.

A hurricane of ideas, both gaming and visual, chained into a small gadget, and maybe a short game, sort of. At least there is not a chance it would start to bore you.

Psychonauts 2 managed to restore my faith in the genre of 3D platformers. This is a creative volcano spewing ideas left and right - it can make you laugh, it can make you cry, it can make you think. And it will definitely make you have fun.

Reaper of Souls is to be evaluated only with superlatives. The expansion pack fixes plenty of the original game's flaws, and it adds tons of new content, showing how a proper action RPG should look like.

The second part continues in the footsteps of its predecessor and does not bring any major changes. However, it brings a hectic, explosive action accompanied by an excellent, though sometimes too exaggerative story.

A traditionally fair RPG that uses the classic RPGs' mechanics, but actually it does nothing new with them. However, it connects them perfectly to a sophisticated, detailed and well-functioning whole in a charming isometric world, which honours the RPG genre, and is the king because of the game's entertainment.

A traditional point-and-click adventure with a stunning story and characters straight out of golden-era BioWare games. But puzzle enthusiasts, beware - you won’t find any complicated brain twisters in demon-plagued New York.

An addicting platform game that brings a fresh air of the olden days proving how much the gaming environment and the video game industry are constantly changing when compared to genres of the other rival companies. An imaginative and beautiful and witty and dynamical game… what more do we want? Just, for god's sake, can somebody explain to me why there is no internet multiplayer?

A brilliant point-and-click adventure infused with nostalgia. Not everyone’s going to love the heavily stylized art but we’d be very surprised if you didn’t enjoy the warm, fuzzy story and innocent humour. There’s a lot of callbacks to older titles to satisfy hungry veterans but also enough new things to bring the game up to speed with the rest of the genre.

The third Stories entry finally lives up to its name, driven by a strong narrative that keeps it engaging throughout. Giving the protagonist a voice and clear motivation proves beneficial, as do the stronger bonds within the party. Combat is more varied and enjoyable, and the restored ecosystems make hunting for the ultimate monster especially rewarding. The open world and side quests may feel underwhelming, but they represent only a small portion of the overall content.

This is a perfect 2D platformer that offers never-ending singleplayer and even multiplayer adventure. Don't get fooled by its retro style - Spelunky is truly modern essence, addicting, full of colours. It is an experience that should get your attention.
