These three innovative, ground-breaking Mario games aren’t something to scoff at. They’re only ports that probably didn’t take much effort at all, but still, they all belong to the Nintendo hall of fame. Hard to understand why they’re going to stop selling them in 6 months…

It’s bigger, richer, more story-driven, it’s simply better than Breath of the Wild. It would be a 10/10 game if it wasn’t for the technical issues caused by the aging Nintendo Switch. You simply must play the new Zelda anyway, though.

When a game's content goes hand in hand with its form, it's always a pleasure. Moreover, when the old times meet the modern-day, and it works great somehow, we may call it a miracle. Such is Mercenary Kings a shooter.

Evocative and creative, Indika is a clear testament to the engaging potential of a short narrative adventure. The game draws strength from interactivity, switches genres, and boldly tackles deep and dark themes. It stands out as one of this year's indie gems—a delightful oddity in the best sense of the word.

Currently the best form of the subgenre that Shin Megami Tensei represents. It offers thrilling turn-based battles that make you think about every move and reconsider your party lineup in case of failure. Vengeance brings numerous improvements over the original fifth game, is available on platforms beyond the Switch, and is technically superior.

Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster is proof that some games do not sink in years. The remastered edition brings along with its uncommon gaming experience solid audiovisuals that beautifully clear out pointed edges of the thirteen years old title.

This is simply a phenomenal game, a brilliant ballet of flawless design and gripping gameplay. The PC port has its flaws even though it’s by no means a catastrophe. Let’s hope repairs are on the way.

Making it impossible for colonists and their war of independence, or hoop rolling in the Schönbrunn Garden? The new Europa Universalis has the answer for everything. It has shown a new dimension of strategic gameplay.

A breath of fresh air into the stagnant genre and a big surprise. Lords of the Fallen is an example of a game into which a lot of love and carefully thought-out ideas have clearly poured. The result exceeded my expectations.

The successor to beloved Journey is larger and more courageous. Sky is innovative, magical, boasting a unique multiplayer system straining to make us courteous and… good. It is simply incomparable to any other mobile game.

Technically excellent port that shows the beauty of games we can experience today and makes you wish more studios would make use of the Decima engine.

A love letter to the 90s kids which doesn’t try to simply live off the nostalgia but is actually a good game in its own right. It’s very short but there are few better options to relive the good old arcade days.

Even four years after its original release, Insomniac's Spider-Man is a great action game with an ideal scope, a fun combat system and phenomenally mastered web swinging. On PC, the game arrives in great shape and, alongside Death Stranding, Horizon and God of War, it does honor to the original exclusives from Sony.

Hades II is a worthy successor to a modern legend – bigger, darker, and more complex than its predecessor. It may not reach the absolute flawlessness of the first game, but still stands as one of the most remarkable roguelites in recent years, once again cementing Supergiant Games’ place atop the gaming Olympus.

A card game in which you don’t actually play cards? This extremely original, creative adventure will fascinate you with its complex story interweaving history and politics, it will pull you in the shadowy world of professional hustlers and amaze you with its unique graphics. We certainly did not expect this story-driven, narratively focused game to be as good as it is. Its world is truly original, the characters inhabiting it feel lifelike and the whole game, with its book-like treatment, is simply marvellous to look at.

A candidate for the game of the year. This game is the most important title for all of you, Thief fans. A vengeance story becomes the gamer's freedom with countless choices how to deal with countless missions. I assure you that even after the credits roll you are going to return to Dunwall again and again.

An inventive action adventure that draws its inspiration from Slavic folk tales and legends. Its world is stunning and will draw you in to explore without using a million icons on a huge map. The story is also interesting and imaginative. The combat system, however, doesn’t quite reach those heights.

The new Hitman delivers what he promised. He's a worthy opponent to Corvo from Dishonored. There is no other stealth action game with such a fantastic presentation and a cinematographic approach. The gameplay is almost as good as in the previous instalments; however, it's a pity the story is weak, the ending is rushed, and the AI is not compelling.
