While Tyranny doesn't revolutionize the isometric role playing genre, its story, characters and progression system certainly demands attention, and makes for a fun, dark and interesting game.

NBA 2K18 is an example of everything that is wrong with the modern game industry, and can only be recommended for people who love to give game companies all of their money. The game itself is good, but ruined by micro transactions.

Snipperclips is a couch co-op game you can play anywhere you want. The style, charm and puzzle solving elements, combined with the ease of handing one of your Joy-Con to a friend for a quick game, makes this a very appealing experience and the best showcase for the Nintendo Switch as a local multiplayer console.

The Banner Saga is one of the most engrossing games I've played in a long time. It drives you forward and is incredibly hard to put down. It's the kind of game that throws you a really unpleasant curveball when you least expect it, and I love it.

Assassin's Creed Valhalla is a massive game that really picks up steam and becomes an engaging adventuer after the first few hours.

Tanner is back! This reboot is surprisingly fresh and innovative thanks to the shift-function, but what ultimately makes it a great game is the superb handling, which is pretty much perfect for a game of this type.

If this can even be called a game, it's a highly unusual one. Instead of doing missions and killing enemies you construct landscapes and battle for control over the always unpredictable elements brought to life by impressive physics.

Clever writing, fun gameplay and a deeply charming cast of characters goes a long way, but Guardians of the Galaxy is otherwise a tad too long, too noisy and too unpolished.

Oxenfree sneaks up on you with its quirky charm, disarms you with a knowingly lame joke, before it pushes you heads first into a creepy, nightmarish tale made up of equal parts Twin Peaks and Are You Afraid of the Dark?

Teardown offers a unique toy box experience. The game will probably not appeal to everyone, but those who enjoy to tinker with systems and experiment with different solutions to problems will find a lot to like here.

The Darkness II is, above all, a fun experience. With an engaging story, fun gameplay mechanics and its original art-style it stands out from your everyday FPS. Despite it's far too short length, the experience itself is so unique and compelling you're likely to play through the single-player campaign over and over again, having a blast every time.

The eight generation of Pokémon games is far from the astounding leap one might hope for when transitioning to a full-blown home console, but it still offers a hell of a lot of engaging, colorful and charming fun.

Old school dogfighting that's best in short bursts. Luftrausers boasts easy controls and retro visuals, but lacks the range and depth to keep you up in the air for a long period of time.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is raw and intense, with a multiplayer that keeps you playing long after the short, but memorable campaign has ended.

Impostor Factory is another incredibly written and deeply emotional story from Freebird Games. The game is in some ways a victim of diminishing returns, but still delivers laughs and tears aplenty.

Gathering Storm offers a mixed bag. The ambition is clear, with climate change and the World Congress being major changes that sadly fails to fully live up to their potential. At the same time, the new resource mechanics are engaging, and the new leaders and other additions make for an expansion filled with content. Nevertheless, Gathering Storm does not live up to the standards set by last year's expansion, Rise and Fall.

The Sly Trilogy is as great as you remember it on the PlayStation Vita. The graphics are vibrant, the story engaging and the characters charming and fun.

Expeditions: Rome is probably developer Logic Artist's biggest and most impressive game, but not all aspects are equally rewarding, and when you're forced to do the same thing over and over again, the whole unfortunately becomes somewhat less than the sum of its parts.

Super Time Force is charming as all hell, as well as incredibly funny. The shooting is not as precise as you’d want, but the concept is nice, and who can actually say no to a trip through time and space?

Skate 3 may not be more than an evolution of the two first games, but it is a damned good evolution. Port Carverton is a skaters paradise, and the introduction of difficulty levels invites both new and veteran gamers to enjoy the fictional city on four wheels.

Admittedly, Puppeteer does resemble a somewhat traditional platformer at its core. However, the generic mechanics are nevertheless well executed, and coupled with wildly imaginative visuals and an enveloping atmosphere this is an undeniably memorable game that never runs out of surprises.

Avowed offers a strong atmosphere, colorful personalities, and a gameplay loop that is entirely serviceable. However, it fails to excel in any particular area, including the character-driven narratives that Obsidian are known for. And so, Avowed fails to fully deliver on its potential.
