As its name implies this is an insane arcade racer that offers a kind of gameplay not so common these days. Flatout 4 is fun, crazy and enjoyable, albeit a bit repetitive in areas.

Nier has some of the shortcomings of the previous Nier game like lazy open world design and side quests without a meaning. But the collaboration with PlatinumGames sends the fighting experience sky-high and overall the story and some characters are not forgettable at all. On the contrary, a rich battle system, some really inspired RPG features and secret endings which prolong the game to 40 hours give Nier the little push it needed to leave the mediocre league and set sails for the glorious ball rooms of the industry

It is not quite clear to whom this game and its strange subject is targeted towards. In any case we find it flawed, repetitive and rather uninspired.

Hollow Knight is simply one of the best metroidvania games we’ve played and one that shouldn’t be missed by any fan of the genre. From its elaborate and enormous map to its beautiful visuals and large variety of unique enemies and bosses this game is one of the better examples of what the indie scene can achieve.

Snipperclips does everything a launch title ought to do correctly, but as much as you enjoyed it you can’t overlook that a few years back this game would have come free with a console bundle.

By combining the best gameplay elements from monumental futuristic racing franchises such as F-Zero and Wipeout, Fast RMX delivers a solid, technical impressive and absolutely rich experience.

Wildlands offers a vast and beautiful open world but not much other than that. The map is filled with endlessly repeatable missions and objectives, the especially problematic cover-system creates frustrating stealth situations and the socio-political infused scenario could very well be considered as blatant propaganda. Coop may make the game just a bit more enjoyable, but it doesn’t alleviate the critical issues in the slightest.

If you want your western RPG games full of text and lots of reading, Tides of Numenera will deliver. It has a very well written script, interesting quests and a rich world to explore, but lacks in the battle system and its technology.

343 and Creative Assembly build the new chapter of the Halo Wars Saga on a stable basis and the multiplayer is enjoyable. However the short main campaign and the confined scope of the story don't let the game breath.

Malicious Fallen is a game that inherits all the negative elements from its predecessors, which means that what we get is a game that is repetitive, shallow and all-around lukewarm.

Sniper Elite returns to glory with an episode full of well designed levels, a gorgeous X-ray cam, interesting multiplayer modes and solid gameplay.

It is a magical trip to a brave new world for the franchise. There are some issues and possibly a few flaws, but they are not capable of leaving even a smudge on the beautiful face of this masterpiece.

A fast paced football game, aiming solely for fun, that despite its simplicity has some very interesting and original cards under its sleeve. Placed and curved shots, cool super powers combined with the old school arcade gameplay create a blend of unadulterated and genuine entertainment.

Poorly designed maps, a Zombies update that gets repetitive pretty fast and -overall- too little content to justify its price tag. That’s -in a nutshell- what the “Sabotage” DLC has to offer.

Detention is an especially engaging and well-made thriller, one that builds the sense of isolation and fear through its sombre design and oppressive themes it explores rather than relying on cheap scares.

For Honor truly captures the cinematic feeling of clashes between heavy armored medieval warriors. Especially in “Duels" we took part in spectacularly tense fights as if choreographed for an epically uncut movie scene. It’s a bit of disappointment then that microtransactions show one of their ugliest faces in Ubisoft’s game.

By borrowing many ideas from other games (the reboot of Tomb Raider and Far Cry Primal to be more specific) Guerilla’s maiden voyage into the “open-world” genre is quite successful, engaging and charming, but not without its flaws.

Even though it feels like (and in some ways is) a cut-down version of the Wii U game, Wooly World on the 3DS retains most of the qualities of the original, thus delivering a great platforming experience.

Saying that Nioh is a “Souls clone” not only doesn’t do justice to a superb game, but can be quite misleading. Nioh stands on its own as a masterpiece from Team Ninja that reminds us the Ninja Gaiden glory days of the studio.

If you ever wondered what an episode of Scooby Doo written by Tommy Wiseau would be like, Knee Deep gives you the chance to play it. Besides the bad writing though, a theatrical visual novel sounds like a good idea for a videogame.

It does nothing more than to remind us that the NES version of Double Dragon wasn’t anything more than a seriously downgraded version of the arcade one. It doesn’t help that this tedious sequel reuses most of the old assets without even trying to bring something new.

Alwa’s Awakening may have some shortcomings, mainly the low enemy variety and relentless backtracking, but it is nevertheless a game with challenging and clever platforming that is an easy choice for anyone who is fond of platformers from the 8-bit era.

In a different era we would gladly pay some quarters to play for a couple of times in an arcade machine. In this era though Rise & Shine is quite forgettable. It may have one interesting gimmick, found in the manipulation of bullets, but it’s seriously underused and is combined with mediocre action, save for two well-crafter boss fights.

Thumper manages to offer quite a fresh gameplay experience for the rhythm games genre, something that is no small feat. On the other hand its electronic music is an acquired taste in our opinion, and the repetition of tracks in its 9 levels doesn’t help.
