A nice idea for an adventure game, set in a very interesting world that is based on the great Spanish comic of the same name. Blacksad: Under the Skin has many good qualities, like its noir atmosphere and story, alongside some negatives like its pacing issues and a few technical problems.

New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe makes its debut to the Nintendo Switch, after almost 6 years of slumber on the Wii U. The game is, without a doubt, a thrilling platformer that manages to blend a cast of loving 3D characters into stunning 2D levels, yet fails to deliver enough additional content to justify the word “deluxe” in its name.

Romeo is a Dead Man is unmistakably a Suda51 game, bursting with creativity, absurdity, satire, and unapologetic eccentricity. The classic Shakespearean tragedy is reimagined as a surreal sci-fi adventure that may stumble at times with uneven pacing and repetitive enemies, but ultimately overcomes its flaws through bombastic, over-the-top action and sheer, unfiltered craziness.

A game designed by a retro lover for retro lovers. Castle in the Darkness will find it difficult to reach younger audiences, since it aims almost specifically those gamers that took their first gaming steps during the 8-bit era.

Rise of the Ronin is undeniably the largest project of Team Ninja, however, the transition from a linear structure to an open world design is not always for the best. Unfortunately, the element of exploration and discovery is lacking, but at the same time, its combat system is deep and incredibly satisfying. Overall, this marks a first step in a new territory for the company, which has the potential to evolve in something greater if they continue in this path.

Pokken Tournament is a worthy addition to Nintendo’s accessible fighters catalogue, alongside Super mash Bros. Even the more inexperienced players will have an easy time learning the controls. On the same time it provides enough depth for those of you who want to take a step further and master its nuances.

Princess Peach: Showtime! closely follows the footsteps of its predecessor, Super Princess Peach. While it provides a unique opportunity to play with a beloved Nintendo character, the entire adventure remains overshadowed by the more well crafted Mario games.

Νeocore uses all of its accumulated experience -gained from the Van Helsing franchise- and delivers a complete action/ RPG, faithful to the source material and accompanied by a tight storyline. Not all of the gameplay ideas were implemented successfully (i.e. the cover system), but genuinely tries to gust fresh air in an already over-saturated genre.

Super Bomberman R for the PlayStation 4 comes with all the available content that has been released to the other platforms, accompanied with an exclusive skin for the console and guarantees that players are going to have a blast while playing with the many available modes the game offers. Previous owners of the Switch version should be careful, though, as this version does not offer any new content, thus lacking the ability to give a re-purchase incentive to potential buyers.

Co-op may be a very fitting inclusion (albeit without supporting online co-op, rather disappointingly), but Unravel Two nevertheless feels more like an expansion rather than a true sequel. It is still a quite pretty experience, but there is a prevalent lack of variety in environmental riddles and platforming, most of which we already seen in the first part anyway.

While many of the problems found on Far Cry 2 are addressed here, Ubisoft's latest is not what we were hoping it would be. Far Cry 3 has superb gunplay and great characters, but the story never really builds up and the missions can get quite repetitive.

The original Syberia is, without question, a classic of the genre. This remastered edition, however, is oddly lacking in quality-of-life improvements. The audio suffers from mixing issues, and the visuals are inconsistent, with particularly underwhelming cinematics. While the reworked in-game graphics do help modernize the experience, they’re not enough to elevate this release into a truly definitive edition.

Fans of the series will be delighted by the significantly improved UI, which makes city-building as addictive as ever. The visuals are gorgeous, packed with detail and enhanced by excellent lighting effects. Still, one can’t help but wish for more coherence between the various gameplay systems, as some feel undercooked, suggesting the game may have been released a bit earlier than it should have been.

Battlefleet: Gothic Armada is as epic as its grandiose name in terms of design and gameplay scope. Be prepared for an especially challenging and rewarding RTS experience. Also be prepared for extreme micromanagement, an unfriendly UI and inconsistent difficulty spikes.

Children of Morta might be quite predictable and even a bit uninspired when it comes to battling the hordes of enemies, but it nevertheless succeeds in providing a fresh experience for the genre of roguelites. How it succeeds in that? By investing in developing its characters and creating actual bonding with the members of the Bergson’s family, not a mean feat for the genre.

When the short-sized, colorful creatures travel from a home console to a portable one, unexpected things can happen! It is a game that vastly differentiates from its predecessors, but still manages to keep the essence of the franchise intact! An overall fun addition on the go.

Lego Batman 3 doesn't bring something truly revolutionary to the Lego series, but is still offering a great time to anyone who will decide to spend some time with it. Especially if this time includes a friend in the co-op mode.

A quite interesting old-school FPS, that even though it is dated, it's so addictive and cleverly designed that every new try feels like you're playing a different game.

It's a decent action/ RPG game that emulates well the MMO philosophy and brings to the videogame realm the good times of the TV Series.

An exhilarating indie adventure which combines elements of the past and present of the genre into a wonderful, albeit short, horror story.

Trials of Mana seems to be a solid case in terms of its control system and the availability of characters, each one with its own beginning and ending point, but some anachronistic choices in design and presentation manage to overshadow its benefits. It remains an old classic, but is presented in a much better way.

No one would expect that an elephant would manage to be an ideal character for precision platforming but Game Freak manages to pull it off. If only there were more than 18 stages.

The "prequel" campaign is well written and gives some interesting feedback on the universe of Gears, but it's quite short and the protagonists are bland. It would be better to wait a "deal of the week" price drop before you get your hands on this.

Tails of Iron offers an unapologetically straightforward action platform that thrives in its simplicity, visceral combat system and nice-looking visuals.

9 Years of Shadows is a typical metroidvania which still manages to draw attention thanks to its interesting design and the somewhat eccentric elements of its world building.

Mixture is a charming little game, reminiscent of Moss, that unfortunately is dragged down by gameplay issues. Be that as it may, fans of platforms and VR will definitely have a good time.

Even though it had a less than flattery introduction, the second half changes the gear and managed to capture our interest. There is uneven quality among the actors and some cheesy dialogue, but it nevertheless narrates an interesting story that we would very well like to see how it unfolds. Let’s hope that it will prove to be True Detective season 1 and not season 2.

It’s a Capcom game so you know by definition that it will deliver great gameplay. Besides that, Marvel vs Capcom Infinite struggles to become Capcom’s Injustice, but fails due to its lack of content, poor graphics and overall low production values.
