After an enormously long development cycle, the end result was worth the wait. The developers persevered through development hell to deliver a striking retro-futuristic setting enhanced by well-crafted horror elements. Across its 4–5 hour, mostly narrative-driven experience, the story and its deadly presences will keep you on edge.

With the use of the RE Engine Resident Evil 3 presents the horrors of Raccoon City in a spectacular way. And at the same time the remake of Jill's escape maintains the action and fast-paced style that the original title had, thus bringing the game to the modern era quite successfully.

The improvements and the conclusion of the White March expansion are so impressive that the realization we have to wait and pray for PoE2 is depressing.

Once Upon a Katamari returns as weird as ever and remains faithful to the previous games. While some serious repetition in its levels and a problematic camera hold it back, these flaws do little to diminish the relaxing and uniquely delightful experience that Katamari continues to offer.

One of the most clever and addictive games Wii U has to offer at the moment. If you've just bought Nintendo's new console this is one of the e-shop games that should be on the top of your wish list.

Driveclub is now in a fine state with all of its launch problems almost forgotten. And at this point comes "Bikes" which offers even more pleasing and well implemented racing gameplay.

Despite all the next gen fuzz and the well executed marketing plan, Dirt 5 can't be more than a mediocre racing title from an otherwise extremely talented team. A racing game with a problem at its core: an extremely dull and boring driving experience.

An excellent return for Kirby, delivering an utterly enjoyable adventure packed with a wealth of modes and a fantastic multiplayer experience. On top of that, it offers impressive visuals and easy-to-grasp gameplay without sacrificing challenge. Fans of the series will be more than thrilled with Air Riders.

Unfortunately, Nobody Saves the World is inferior to the studio’s Guacamelee! games. Using the different forms seems to be a bit derivative and the whole experience depends in completing myriads of small tasks, which at some point resembles a shopping list. It’s still a fun experience, thanks to its humour and lively visuals but this feeling is constantly intertwined with that of a chore.

While a bit light in mission variety and dull in writing, it is impossible to ignore the sheer brilliance behind the wonderful space flight & fight gameplay it offers. Sure, in VR it is simply breathtaking, but even in its standard format it is a highly entertaining experience which somehow manages to be accessible to newcomers but engaging to experts at the same time.

Romancing SaGa 2 continues the trend of excellent remakes of classic games. It modernizes the classic JRPG in many ways, making it approachable for newcomers while offering fans of the series a fantastic opportunity to enjoy it anew.

The new Hyrule Warriors offers a great combat system and excellent visual design, alongside a large variety of missions. Fans of the first game will find plenty of content to reimmerse themselves in Hyrule, though they may be left a bit disappointed by the lackluster storyline.

A prequel that the series desperately needed. It's not the epic story you've anticipated, but it delivers a strong punch, and with the addition of the Smart Spawn System and the Declassified missions, it is the fastest paced - most action packed Gears yet.

343 and Creative Assembly build the new chapter of the Halo Wars Saga on a stable basis and the multiplayer is enjoyable. However the short main campaign and the confined scope of the story don't let the game breath.

After 12 years it is great to see the return of a beloved strategy series. Homeworld: Deserts of Kharak offers a decent campaign along with great graphics and intense battles, but lacks on the skirmish and multiplayer modes.

Having the control of an A.I., inspired by HAL amongst others, is a novel idea, and completely in sync with the claustrophobic environment of the Observation. The mystery as well builds up quite well. Unfortunately, a less than satisfying ending, some quite disorienting free-moving sections and some vague objectives that will leave you scratching your head about what to do next diminish the experience.

Arise has a charming visual style in the vein of a more simplistic Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons, including a somewhat diverse time manipulation element. Nevertheless, the quality between levels is a bit uneven and the developer’s effort for symbolic touches misses the mark quite often.

Panic Button has managed to fit a beast of a game on the Switch quite successfully, but you can’t overlook the compromises that the developer had to go through when it comes to the overall visual experience. It is not a pretty version of the game, but it is a great Wolfenstein II experience nonetheless.

The new Volta mode is surely a welcomed addition that we expect it to grow in the following years, but besides that and the always superb presentation and overall rich content, FIFA 20 seems stale and not able to take some bold steps forward. Combine this with the aggressive monetization that comes with the Ultimate Team mode and what you get is probably the worst FIFA game in recent years.

It’s a unique mix of a complete overhaul in the graphics and sound department, boasting catchy music and charmingly beautiful visuals, that at the same retains untouched the level design and gameplay of the original. It will not please newcomers but those that grew up in the 8-bit era will surely enjoy the faithfulness of the remake. On another level it’s a great study about the evolvement of the platformer genre and the connection between gameplay and visuals.
