There is a little bit of “Medal of Honor” here and some “SOCOM” as well, but really this game has an identity all its own with a unique mood and feel. It isn’t the most challenging war title I’ve ever played but it is one of the grittiest.

Assault Squadron easily stacks up with any space shooter I have played on the PS3 or 360 in the past few years, both in visuals and in gameplay.

Transformers: War for Cybertron is not only the best Transformers game next-gen gamers can play, it is also one of the most fulfilling and challenging action-shooters I've played in years and a definite purchase, especially if you have any love of the Transformers franchise.

Despite its delectable appearance, Restaurant Empire is not a game for the feeble-minded or faint-hearted. You have to have the stomach to do what it takes to keep your restaurant profitable.

Definitely a niche title and in this case its more of an update to last year's game than a full-blown package, and an unpolished update at that.

While American Wasteland may have the gameplay nailed down, it falls short of being great on the Nintendo GameCube. If you really want to experience the true greatness that is Tony Hawk's American Wasteland then you'll need to play it on another system.

An extremely fun and addicting puzzle game, which is just as fun as or more so than any previous version of the series.

In the end, Singularity is an awesome FPS wrapped in an engaging piece of science fiction.

The only thing keeping this game from having a top score is its lack of single player content (at least by PC standards) and some buggy issues with multiplayer. But otherwise this is a really solid game that combines both first-person and strategic gameplay flawlessly.

I have played Madden on PlayStation and Xbox and this is by far the most fun and interactive way to truly enjoy this game.

Excellent sounds, graphics, and gameplay are rooted in Call of Duty 2: Big Red One.

R.U.S.E. isn't doing anything particularly groundbreaking in the world of RTS, but in the world of console gameplay, it is doing well to stand apart.

While I was really impressed with the implementation of the Lockdown Stick and Floor General play calling, I was turned off by the sub-par graphics, robotic animations and otherwise glitchy visuals.

There’s a lot to like here: a wide variety of buildings and themes to mess around with, casino design, landscaping, and just plain wandering around looking at the pretty lights.

If customizing is your thing, the CAW is the single most amazing thing about XIX. You could get lost in the myriad options it offers to you.

Pool Paradise is the definitive pool simulation for next-gen consoles. While nothing will ever replace the actual art of playing “real” pool, this is as close as it has ever come. The controls are intuitive and the interface is fun and accessible to young and old alike.

For older teens and adult gamers, it may get a bit dull or annoying in certain spots. However, if you're under 13, or looking for a way to have fun with your kids while playing a video game, you won't be disappointed.

If however you are looking to play an exciting and intense action-strategy combat game with a bit of historical significance, there is a whole lot of quality gameplay to be found here despite a few flaws and oversights – none of which a good patch couldn’t fix.

Frustrating at times, but totally original and completely hilarious throughout, Shadows of the Damned is one of the cleverest, naughtiest, most brilliantly constructed games I've played this year.

Graphically SingStar doesn’t need to offer much. While singing the songs, the music video is played in the background. The menus however look sharp and are simple to navigate. The music videos are great quality, and there’s nothing that would turn you away visually.

As with most of these dancing games you either “get” it or you don’t. For those that do, you won’t find a more comprehensive or fun dancing game out there.

Overall, though, Avernum: Escape from the Pit is a rather good game. It captures the feel of 90s RPGs better than pretty much any other game out there, and scratches the nostalgia itch that players who grew up in the days of Black Isle might have. It's not without some minor flaws, but they don't do much to subtract from an otherwise excellent package.

Neversoft and Activision have built on the successful design of Guitar Hero 5 and given it a fresh new look and replaced all that aggressive rock and pounding metal with fun and energetic pop music and the smooth sounds of classic rock from the past three decades that will certainly appeal to younger gamers and their parents.

Downhill Jam might not make the most of the dual screens or the touch screen functionality, but I can’t imagine a better system to enjoy this type of game on. The sheer level of customization, stat tracking, and online potential will keep you skating throughout the holidays and well into next year.
