While the game's missions could be more varied and Project Nimbus could certainly use a bigger variety of vehicles, fans of games involving enormous robotic-like bodies will enjoy this work, even if few outside this niche will feel attracted.

Slender: The Arrival makes its Nintendo Switch debut six years after the original release and the result is a mixed bag: its sound atmosphere is still as breathtaking as it was and does an excellent job at keeping players on their toes; visually speaking, the game is showing its age. Overall the game's short lifespan, repetitiveness and generic plot mean this experience is rather average and doesn't fully stand out.

The game's art style stands out but it can actually interfere with the gameplay, the difficulty quickly becomes frustrating and the game's short experience add up to a work that will not leave players fully satisfied with this choice, especially fans of the fly'em up style.

Its journey, through a heavy, grey and gritty world, acts as a good example of how a dramatic connection between the player and the game can be achieved, and while the experience could certainly last longer, this is a work that will be very welcomed by players of all tastes.

Shakedown: Hawaii brings forth a fun, well-humoured and visually satisfying 16-bit inspired world to a game that despite its good intentions, does not fully tick all the necessary boxes to achieve its entire potential. Mostly because the game feels like it ends too quickly, even though there is still plenty to do but the overall feeling of repetitiveness and a certain lack of challenge make it less compelling and involving than it could be. All that said, this is still a good effort that will keep players enjoyed.

Super Mario Maker 2 could hardly be a better return of Nintendo's feat of Mario-based level design. Thanks to its wealth of content and options, simple interface, multiplayer component and sense of immersion, Super Mario Maker 2 is on a perfect track to become the main reference when it comes to games about platformers' design and one which will appeal to all kinds of players.

Slay the Spire feels like a breath of fresh air that joins elements from card-based and roguelike games, which in principle may not sound like a winning formula but Slay the Spire gets it all right thanks to its combat system, lifespan and unpredictability of each experience. The result is an addictive experience that players of all tastes should enjoy.

Aegis Defenders has several points in its favour, such as well-designed gameplay mechanics, a quality plot and its good audiovisual environment, but as it becomes clear, a good game is more than the sum of its parts. The game's puzzles quickly start feeling repetitive and its difficulty level comes off as exaggerated, which contribute to put Aegis Defenders in the territory of games that could have edged towards a much more memorable status.

Blaster Master Zero 2 delivers a fun and challenging action game which nearly every player can enjoy. With its well designed levels and gameplay mechanics lying on a quality audiovisual environment, Blaster Master Zero 2 is a welcome arrival to the Nintendo Switch catalogue.

The Princess Guide may have creative and ambitious concepts and ideas and there's no doubt that it has several good aspects in its favour. Unfortunately the game also reveals some flaws when it comes to putting its ideas into place and the result is something that feels rather confusing, without a proper explanation of how the gameplay mechanics work, and with a too repetitive combat system.

My Girlfriend is a Mermaid?! goes along the visual novel conventions but doesn't dare to try anything groundbreaking or that would allow it to stand out among its peers. As such, the game features good examples of character animation and soundtrack but its humour gets repetitive too quickly and the protagonists are not as attractive as fans of visual novels would expect them to be.

Our World Is Ended. has interesting points in its favour, like its good looking visuals, vocalizations and a well implemented interface but these positive elements end up taking a second place to its rather weak characters, countless plot clichés and overall erratic advances in the game, not to mention its repetitive humour.

Vectronom is a simple but challenging work that makes a successful union between rhythm & music and puzzle-solving gameplay, along with a very well designed visual environment. Accessible but compelling, as well as addictive, Vectronom provides an experience that anyone can enjoy and which would only benefit if it lasted longer.

Fate/Extella Link lands on the Nintendo Switch with the deserved distinction of being the most content-full game of the series when it comes to characters and their variety and a myriad of customization options that will make the delights of Fate fans. On top of that, the improvements made to the combat system and its sharper controls make Fate/Extella Link a game that fully deserves its place in the collection of every single Fate fan out there.

Refunct has its advantages, it certainly helps the player relax and provides for a nice experience. Unfortunately Refunct is limited in what it gives the players: it is too short, too simple and its mechanics too limited for Refunct to be a truly enjoyable game. If Refunct made a greater effort at being a longer, more in-depth experience, it could be a recommended work.

Blazing Beaks can be best described as a roguelikegame that's full of mysteries and secrets, and one which works marvelously whether on a solo or multiplayer level. It also features a delightful looking art style, so its randomly-generated levels can be enjoyed thoroughly in all their glory. It's a game that works like a charm and plays like one too.

Niddhog 2 improves on the original game's experience to deliver a fun effort that stands out the most when played on local multiplayer, while its single-player experience feels rather empty. Nevertheless, Niddhog 2's combat system and its fluid action and gameplay mean that any party or group of players that picks it up will feel satisfied for doing so.

Beat Cop is a fun and zany action game that puts the player in a cliché 1980s action movie setting and does a fine job at that. Its missions can get confusing and repetitive at certain moments but the game's mechanics and environment are noting short of delightfully funny and are certain to keep the players laughing and enjoying the experience for some time.

Golem Gates successfully joins elements of Real Time Strategy games with those of card-based strategy games for an effort that provides a good level of strategic complexity and an interesting art style, as well as laudable online functionalities. It's also an accessible game, although it can feel too easy once the player has crafted a good enough deck of cards.

Dusty Raging Fist is a beat'em up for the Nintendo Switch that has a lot in common with its classic predecessors of previous eras. What it doesn't do in terms of breaking new grounds, Dusty Raging Fist delivers a simple, enjoyable experiences, with a captivating visual environment and a good three-player co-op mode, while some aspects of the fighting techniques and leveling up of characters could use some improvement.

The Banner Saga 2 is an interesting and varied game in the tactical RPG genre that comprises a visually stunning world and a great variety of environments. It doesn't fully supplant its predecessor, though, as it becomes visible that this second entry acts more like a bridge towards a next game and it sends off the idea that there's plenty of potential that should have been developed at a greater level.

Team Sonic Racing is a fun, competent and well executed kart racing game that could benefit from being more ambitious but overall, it does very well what it proposes and acts as another good example of a game that gathers a cast of characters from one of SEGA's most popular universes.

Darkwood has the merit of knowing how to scare its players and keeping them on their toes throughout the whole experience, accompanied by how it allows the player to take decisions during the game. The game suffers some harm from technical issues, however, and its visuals aren't the most stunning, which make it a less enjoyable experience than it could be, while nevertheless demonstrating why it is a decent survival horror title.

Assassin's Creed III Remastered on the Nintendo Switch is an adaptation that's not without its problems, especially when it comes to hit detection, framerate and unsolved bugs and technical issues. GIGA WRECKER Alt. brings a good dose of action, platforming, exploration and puzzling to a metroidvania style of game. Cinders is a visual novel based on the classic Cinderella story while reflecting a more modern take on the original and as a game that offers four different endings, it works: its concise, appealing writing, quality illustrations and compelling finals make this a motivating experience for fans of visual novels. Pity for its rather short length, which means that players have even more reasons to reach all possible endings.
