Short but intense, filled with secrets and with a long and encouraging lifespan, Cursed Castilla EX might get too hard for the less dedicated players but those willing to invest some energy in it will be duly rewarded.

It can be too predictable at some points and its longer lifespan feels unnecessary at some moments but the overall result is still on par with the high standards that the series has left its players used to.

Yomawari: The Long Night Collection is a collection set of two horror games that while unrelated by their plot, feature very similar mechanisms and gameplay. And this is certainly an added value, as the two games feature a very involving environment, full of details that make them ever more appealing and will put the players at the very core of this disturbing adventure that makes the Nintendo Switch catalogue ever more attractive for horror fans.

Players should not be deceived by Ittle Dew's apparent similarities with The Legend of Zelda series. The references are merely for comic and background effect and this is, in reality, a very satisfying puzzle game that will delight those with enough mental energy to invest their time on it.

Art of Balance’s Wii U premiere is a fine candidate for a fun, compelling and absorbing puzzle game. Its levels are wide and varied and its multiplayer modes will gather friends for long hours. A very welcome entry into the puzzle sector of the Wii U catalogue.

Rather than a game, KORG M01D is an exquisite musical composing tool that fits perfectly within the 3DS. Its price tag is yet another point in favour for a title that is set to captivate its target-audience. Nevertheless, it should be pointed out that M01D might still seem too intimidating for those with few skills in the field of music-making.

Sega managed to take one of its 1980s arcade classics and turned into an attractive conversion able to keep the gamers happy and entertained. With gameplay that adapts perfectly to short gaming sessions and a very competent transition from the arcade to the handheld format, 3D Super Hang-on crowns it with a perfectly smooth 3D effect. This is an effort that deserves to be experienced.

Rather than the classic tension buildup, climax and return to an apparent normality, Lone Survivor prefers to let the players question themselves constantly over what is real and what is not and not giving them the chance to feel safe once the worst seems to be over. A magnificent and intriguing effort, worth of all attention by those brave enough to explore it.

The Assassin's Creed series is teetering on the brink of saturation. Credit to Black Flag for escaping that fate thanks to its interesting and innovative mechanics. Naval exploration brings in several additional hours of gameplay, which along with its competent plot contribute to make Black Flag the best Assassin's Creed game since the second chapter of the series.

Thanks to its remarkable character development, well written dialogue and overall quality of the plot, Oxenfree is certain to strike a chord with fans of story-driven games, even if its length is rather short but that ends up being minimal when faced with the game's surprising developments.

It could certainly use some improvement regarding its single player appeal, as it becomes repetitive too quickly and its difficulty level does not quite stand the test. All that aside, Pokkén Tournament is worthy of praise and a good example on how to bring one series to a different genre.

Boxboy is a fun and addictive puzzle game that is certain to keep players around it for some time, not just because of its mechanics but also because it introduces new ideas and challenges at a very high pace. It only suffers from its washed away visual style, which could have used more work, even for a game of this genre.

The return of Guitar Hero is a very welcome renovation of the series. Guitar Hero Live and its new television-like mode are a great help to the feeling of immersion and the design of the new guitar are great additions to a formula which was getting saturated. While the multiplayer mode could be more ambitious, Guitar Hero Live is a very recommended title for fans of music games.

Xenoblade Chronicles 2 is an exquisite game that will surely satisfy the fans with its enormous lifespan, visual style and abundant possibilities. That said, the game starts rather slowly and its user interface could certainly be friendlier, which can only lead to the hope that such situations will be corrected soon through downloadable updates.

Project X Zone 2 is a smash fest of several high-profile series that meet together in a gorgeous-looking tactical RPG. An indispensable game for those who follow the series featured here, it could prove to be too repetitive in some moments but dedicated players who will be attracted by the giant amount of fan service on display will have plenty to do.

Stealth Inc 2: A Game of Clones is a sequel that goes beyond the original and understands that a puzzle game needs to be more than just a collection of levels that have to be finished. Its varied mechanics and a (decorative but inspired) storyline make this a worthy title in the Wii U’s catalogue, for both fans of puzzle games and curious minds alike.

Splatoon 2 takes what made the original such a remarkable game and improves it in nearly every way: the campaign mode is better, so is the audiovisual environment, the gameplay does not lose a single trace of appeal and the local multiplayer works wonders. While the online multiplayer experience could be better and the campaign's ending feels a bit disappointing, Splatoon 2 has earned its place in Nintendo's refreshing series.

Velocity 2X brings a very high-paced shooter with platforming elements to the Nintendo Switch and one which manages to both welcome new players and put up a significant challenge to veteran players. Starlink: Battle for Atlas is an ambitious action and exploration game for the Nintendo Switch that brings with it an array of toys which will be required to fully unlock every element in the game. Featuring a great degree of customisation, lengthy exploration and even the presence of Nintendo’s own Fox McCloud, its visual environment feels like a bit of a let down and the overall cost to obtain everything will be higher than for other games but this is certainly an interesting and worthy adventure to engage with.
