The control system needs some improvement, though, and the voice acting is far from the best ever done, but the narrative and exploration suit well those who are looking for a sci fi adventure in the Wii U's eShop.

Castlestorm displays certain qualities which are more than welcome and that shake the ground a bit in what is overwhelmingly a niche style. Nevertheless, its record would be far more interesting if its technical flaws and repetitiveness were solved.

Nihilumbra does a perfect job at creating a nihilistic setting which will plunge the player in a gloomy, depressive spiral. Its visual and sound environments fit the game's plot without any flaws and the initial difficulty level allows the player to finish the plot-driven part of the game without problems. Things get more complicated once the player reaches the following segment, where the difficulty level hikes dramatically and the whole experience becomes much harder.

Reventure consists of a simple but by no means plain adventure which performs very well on the Nintendo Switch handheld format. While at first the adventure seems to follow a very standard formula, it soon becomes apparent that there's a lot more to Reventure than it looks at first and while the game doesn't stand out for its visual environment, its gameplay mechanics help it carve its own territory amidst its adventure game peers.

LOST ORBIT: Terminal poses several score challenges to the player while featuring a simple and accessible gameplay. The incentives for players to use their skill in order to seek higher scores are the main asset of LOST ORBIT: Terminal, which could provide a more fluid experience if it had shorter loading times but the overall verdict is of a game that knows how to get players to engage with a score attack challenge.

Dimension Drive is a demanding, merciless 2D shooter that will force the players to draw from their patience, persistence and concentration in order to succeed. Fans of the genre will be delighted with this punitive game, while newcomers will feel alienated by how abrupt the difficulty curve can be.

The game offers a varied and fun experience, despite its occasional moments of frustration which will require some preparation from the players. A detailed graphical environment and a very fun multiplayer mode ensure that Chariot will be appreciated by players of all tastes.

Nintendo finaly gets its Minecraft, delivered onto the Wii U's eShop and how does it add up? It's Minecraft, nothing else to add - and it doesn't build up on the other versions available. It's the same unlimited and never-ending building game but it doesn't fully make use of the Wii U's capabilities.

Picross e8 represents another chapter in the series where the fundamentals remain the same. Other than an increase in the difficulty level of the picross puzzles, very little has changed compared to the previous games. This has its advantages but also disadvantages, as the formula feels stagnated but the qualities remain untouched.

Mars Power Industries is a simple and friendly puzzler that keeps things within a very accessible range - while not very overtly ambitious or grandiose, it knows its job and does it well. Its simplicity extends to the audiovisual environment, which is far from breathtaking but luxurious sights and sounds on their own don't make a fun game. Mars Power Industries is a welcome addition to the puzzle game sector of the Nintendo Switch catalogue.

Thanks to its quick gameplay mechanics and variety of goals, it will easily get the player into trying again and again in order to reach a higher score. It doesn't stand too well on a long term basis or on a more in-depth experience, however, as this is a game that mostly appeals when played in quick experiences.

Hexologic has a simple job and it does it effectively enough. This puzzle game picks up the concept behind Sudoku and advances it to a more fun and compelling level, helping to build a fun and accessible game while not taking its premise too far. It could be longer, as it feels too short at some moments but it's undeniable that fans of puzzle games will have a very fun time thanks to Hexologic.

Neurovoider takes a bold step forward and brings RPG and shooting elements into a roguelike game, a recipe that works surprisingly well. Action-packed, frantic and nerve-wrecking at times, Neurovoider could use a more balanced sense of progression and difficulty but it's certainly on the right path.

In Other Waters is a text-based adventure that may not catch everyone's attention at first but the game creates a space for itself with its stunning visual environment, relaxing and immersive soundtrack, and ways of spending long hours exploring and analyzing the bottom of the seas. An enveloping experience with a pedagogical component and which can be played using the Nintendo Switch touch screen is without any doubt a very welcome addition to the console's catalogue.

Mighty Gunvolt Burst represents a significant improvement over its predecessors and brings a fun gameplay, creative mechanics, an appealing visual environment and it's overall an entertaining piece of work. It may not represent the most multi-layered game ever made but it certainly gets a lot of things right.

Severed is a simple and quick-to-learn game that puts the players at the centre of a rather harsh story that is further advanced by its visuals and navigation. While there certainly is room for improvement in the way the story is presented and on the level of interaction with the Wii U's potential, fans of dungeon-crawler types will find plenty of assets in Sasha's adventure to be reunited with her family.

Hammerwatch is set to strike a chord with fans of retro-style adventure games that feature plenty of action and a solid multiplayer experience. While its solo mode may not be the zenith of the experience, the local multiplayer mode has plenty to entertain its players and the game's overall fluidity and competent visuals add up to an experience that will find its place with many players.

Waku Waku 7 may not be the most mind blowing fighting game ever made but it certainly is full of charm thanks to its unique, albeit short, cast of characters and wonderfully executed animations. While sometimes it stumbles upon technical issues, the gameplay is satisfying and it's another game to add to the growing list of classic titles in the Nintendo Switch eShop.

With its immense amount of content and a very healthy lifespan, Party Hard is a game that should be on the radar of everyone looking for something with plenty of action and with some unique gameplay elements, with its experience being spoiled only by a long learning curve and a few AI issues.

Its plot could be more involving and it feels too long on several moments, while the characters certainly won't become the player's darlings but Golf Story's redeeming factors can cover part of its shortcomings and create an interesting mixture of an RPG and golf.

Badland: Game of the Year Edition is a successful example of how a game designed for mobile devices can be interesting to play on the Wii U. The Alliance Alive is a successful effort at justifying why the 3DS is still relevant. Thanks to its wide and varied world, well implemented sense of progression, in-depth combat system and rich visual component, this is an RPG that should feature in a great number of 3DS systems, even as the console is past its prime.

Darksiders Warmastered Edition marks the return of the Darksiders series and its arrival on the Nintendo Switch after landing in other platforms. It's true that it doesn't bring anything new compared to its original version but what is here is a game that features a fun gameplay, very good boss fights and a very nice-looking art style, it just needs to fix its occasional crashing problem but for those who are not familiar with the Darksiders series, this will be a good introduction.

The versatility of the Kirby franchise is only surpassed by Kirby's capacity to absorb enemies and their respective abilities. Triple Deluxe, however, does not go all the way through and is rather an example of a classic Kirby game transplanted to the 3DS. Level design starts to show some fatigue but Kirby and his enemies are as delightful as ever in their colourful ways and 3D depth perception effects.

Atelier Ayesha: The Alchemist of Dusk DX lands on the Nintendo Switch as an improved incarnation of a game part of the Dusk Trilogy within the Atelier series and this work does a lot of things right, starting with the quality of its plot and its developed world. Not all works as it should, though, and the game's performance issues and its rather boring final stretch mean that it's below its full potential but RPG fans and Atelier series followers have good reasons to visit Atelier Ayesha on the Switch.

Quell Reflect is simple and direct, direct drops of water through glass surfaces, using as least moves as possible to reach the end of each level. Addictive, relaxing, demanding but within the limits of reason, this is a fine puzzle game worthy of all the time put into it.

It's very well designed and it can help those without programming skills with their first steps in this world. It also does its job with very well implemented touch controls, but it will not be a significant challenge to players who already have programming skills and its 38 levels might feel too short.

6180 the moon is an original and well thought game that blends puzzles and platforming around a concept centered on the action shifting from one screen to another. While in some moments this might cause a certain confusion when the player has to switch focus back and forth between the television and the Wii U GamePad, the levels are well built and the difficulty, while not being too high, will pose a satisfying challenge.
