The LEGO Movie 2 Videogame tries to tweak the formula of the previous game and despite providing some fun moments and being an accessible game with plenty of content, it doesn't fulfill its goals when it comes to deliver a competent, enjoyable game. Its uninteresting world, lack of connection with the movie and technical issues make this a passable effort that will disappoint those looking for a good experience based on the movie.- FNintendo

Swords and Soldiers returns to a Nintendo console and the result is a fun and addictive effort that gains a new level of amusement on multiplayer, though it could really use an online component. Thanks to its well-designed strategic component and to its simple and accessible gameplay, Swords and Soldiers on the Nintendo Switch can be a very alluring and enjoyable experience.- FNintendo

Heroes Trials draws heavily from some of the most iconic adventure game classics but despite its rather innovative plot and open world exploration, it doesn't really bring anything new to the panorama. Add to that a certain lack of challenge, an uninspired art style and a sub-par level design and the result is a passable effort that doesn't stand out in the Nintendo Switch catalogue.- FNintendo

Cursed Castilla does not try to open new paths, this is a simple, intense, action game based on extremely tough games of past ages. This is a simple effort that's fun and very challenging and doesn't go beyond that. As Cursed Castilla tries to follow the examples of some tough-as-nails classics, it also does little to set itself apart and as such, this fun and simple game is also rather limited in what it brings.- FNintendo

My Memory of Us does not follow the typical story-telling mechanisms and it dares to venture into a background plot that not many games would step into. Its original and unusual story-telling make this a rather unique effort which might not be the most exciting for players looking for a thrilling challenge but it does a very good job at delivering a unique experience.- FNintendo

Warplanes: WW2 Dogfight represents a genre that is mostly absent on the Nintendo Switch and it does a decent job at providing the player with a wide choice of airplanes and missions. The problem is that its gameplay is simply too clunky and uninspiring, which coupled with its very lacklustre visuals and almost non-existing sound component make this an overall very disappointing effort that will not do any good for aerial combat games on the Nintendo Switch.- FNintendo

ROCKETSROCKETSROCKETS has a very unambiguous title which pretty much says what the game is all about: rockets. While there is some fun to be had in these rocket-propelled battles, especially when it comes to multiplayer, the game has little to offer beyond that and its shallow gameplay experience quickly becomes too repetitive.- FNintendo

Once the appeals to nostalgia have been set aside, we are left with one disappointing and incompetent work which fails at being a proper tribute to that era of gaming - unreliable controls, frustrating gameplay and poor level design make Avenger Bird a game that simply does not fulfill any of its objectives.- FNintendo

Torna is a marvelous expansion of the no less amazing Xenoblade Chronicles 2. Adding to what the original game already does good, Torna manages to improve the combat system and acts as a very good buildup on the original game's plot. This is an especially recommended additional experience to those who enjoyed Xenoblade Chronicles 2, as it is designed to be especially appealing to fans of the original game.- FNintendo

X-Morph: Defense is a fun and addictive effort that combines elements of action games with those of tower defense titles to deliver a work that will keep players mired in its delightful details for a long time, whether for its gorgeous visuals, absurd humour and well implemented, if simple gameplay mechanics.- FNintendo

Atelier Totori shifts the focus of its predecessor onto combat and exploration, with the alchemy elements appearing less prominent. If the intention is understandable, the result is less positive and the game ends up feeling less interesting than it wants to be. The plot remains captivating and some of the more known characters are back but there are elements which have not improved when compared to its predecessor.- FNintendo

Super Treasure Arena is a very simple and minimalistic retro-styled action game with strategy elements. While at its core the game offers some fun, especially if played with friends (though without a dedicated multiplayer), it quickly becomes too repetitive and the lack of goals becomes impossible to ignore, not to mention the slightly unsuitable control scheme.- FNintendo

RemiLore is a simple effort and there's nothing wrong with that per se - the game features a good looking visual environment and some interesting ideas, the problem is putting them into practice without forcing the player into an experience that feels dull and repetitive...and that's exactly what ends up happening, as RemiLore does not have the assets to deliver an involving experience.- FNintendo

Nightshade adds another title to the visual novel segment of the Nintendo Switch catalogue and it stands out thanks to an involving plot with very sombre overtones, multiple endings, a good art style and exceptional voice work. Its occasional clichés are easily overcome in this work that is certain to captivate fans of the visual novel genre.- FNintendo

A marvelous plot and very involving world co-exist with unnatural controls, generic puzzles and a sub-par level design, as well as with gameplay mechanics that are not fluid enough to create momentum. Players who can overlook its flaws will be able to enjoy its qualities but others will find it more difficult to adjust themselves.- FNintendo

Armello is not trying to bring down the giants of strategy games but that doesn't mean it doesn't stand on its own feet and Armello features plenty of options, an attractive visual environment and a competitive level of difficulty. On the downside, its plot isn't very appealing and its tutorials and rules can feel excessive but the game offers enough to keep players enjoying themselves.- FNintendo

Mario & Luigi Bowser’s Inside Story is not a new name but this 3DS remaster is still a welcome effort thanks to its top-notch RPG mechanics with lovely visuals and sound, as well as its trademark humour and fun. While the new Bowser Jr. element doe not operate a revolution, the game's overall experience is nothing short of fun and it fits very nicely in the series' legacy.- FNintendo

The Bug Butcher draws on the much beloved 2D shooters of the 1980s and 1990s to deliver an experience that is not only visually marvelous but also brings simple and fun gameplay mechanics and a completely absurd and well-written humour. The game is set to be enjoyed for a long time and any fans of the genre and beyond should definitely check out this piece of work.- FNintendo

Trials Rising is a very fun effort that is indissociable from the high difficulty level of the Trials series. The level editor is a major plus which makes the game's lifespan stretch for longer but at the same time, this release on the Nintendo Switch is riddled with technical problems that should be fixed as soon as possible through updates.- FNintendo

Super Hydorah is a fitting tribute to 16-bit era 2D shoot'em ups. Obviously, this implies a sharp difficulty level, which can become frustrating at certain moments but the game's variety when it comes to weapons and routes is a very attractive factor. What Super Hydorah amounts to is this is a marvelous 2D shooter and a very nice surprise on the Nintendo Switch catalogue.- FNintendo

Little Dragons Café starts from a good principle and its no-pressure approach, coupled with an open and varied world are worthy of praise. Unfortunately it gets too dull and repetitive too soon and the lack of pressure in taking decisions ends up harming the game's sense of direction- Not only that, the game's visual environment needs a lot of improvements and overall, it just doesn't do enough to captivate its players.- FNintendo

I Am the Hero tries to bring back the 16-bit sidescrolling beat'em up and for a game that features such a good art style and amount of attacks and combos, its overall experience falls short of what is to be expected. Repetitiveness, poor controls and performance issues end up harming this effort, which could have risen to a much higher level if they had been properly addressed.- FNintendo

Rival Megagun joins the growing numbers of retro-styled shoot'em ups on the Nintendo Switch catalogue and adds a whole new dimension to the experience: a gameshow component, after shooting aliens. This makes for an interesting main game mode, despite the game's appeal being rather limited for solo experiences. Overall the multiplayer component is more attractive than going solo and it's only legitimate to expect that the game's online community will grow in the near future.- FNintendo

RIOT - Civil Unrest features a rather original premise that pits the player in civil strife scenes based off real world events and it does a decent job at that, especially as it allows the player to play both as the rioters and as the forces of order. Unfortunately the game suffers from too many unnecessary problems, including (crucially) issues with its control system and the lack of a tutorial doesn't help. The promise of future updates, on the other hand, is a plus.- FNintendo

Red Game Without a Great Name and Green Game: TimeSwapper are based on original ideas which don’t quite fully live up to their potential due to the control system and to some frustrating and repetitive moments. This is not to say they don’t have anything in their favour but their short lifespan is very much conditioned by these factors.- FNintendo

If this production is certain to appeal to like-minded fans, it's less likely to have an impact with those that are not so keen on the genre, especially when it brings nothing that's really new and when many of its combats are based on chance.- FNintendo

Travis Strikes Again: No More Heroes is an example of a game that's heavily based on its creator's views, and when said creator is Suda 51 the result can only be an effort of unique and eccentric details, with plenty of humour and challenging combat moments. On the downside, Travis Strikes Again features a level design that feels too simple and its combat can easily become repetitive, making it harder for outsiders to develop a taste for Suda's latest opus.- FNintendo
