1001 Spikes is a fun, varied and well-designed 2D platformer that makes use of old-school mechanics to impose a steep difficulty curve and a thousand and one obstacles that even experienced players will find challenging. A very welcome addition to the eShop’s library.

Xenoblade Chronicles X is a worthy successor to the previous title in the series and one of the most ambitious games to be released in the Wii U so far. A monument of content, exploration and complexity, this is a technically staggering work with visually breathtaking landscapes and the potential to spend literally hundreds of hours in its main and secondary missions. A masterpiece of the JRPG genre which is more than certain to gain a place close to the hearts of many who will dedicate themselves to explore this world.

This direct port of a previously-released game does not add anything remarkable other than the HD Rumble feature and as such, it remains the same magnificent game as the original: with a beautiful visual environment and very well implemented gameplay mechanics, Shantae and the Pirate's Curse is a wonderful game of the Metroidvania style that will keep players exploring and collecting for hours on end.

Blasphemous is a marvelous work of the Metroidvania genre with an art style based on pixel art and which features exquisite combat mechanics and an eye-filling visual environment marked by gloom and desolation. ARMS is clearly something that stands out amidst Nintendo's recent works. With its very creative approach, it eschews most of the labels used to categorize games and proposes bouts of physical fighting coupled with other sports and actions thrown into the mix to make something that is without a doubt more than welcome in Nintendo's catalogue. Its wide and varied content, intuitive gameplay mechanics, quality online modes and all the additional content that will be released for it make ARMS an essential game in the universe of every Nintendo Switch player.

What the Golf?, an unusual title for an unusual game. So unusual that it's hilarious, fun and addictive from one end to the other. In this golf (...sure?) game, it is simply impossible to suffer from boredom or from repetitiveness, thanks to its absolutely ludicrous levels, mechanics, creativity and structure. A real gem that should set a standard for others.

3D Streets of Rage 2 is the best conversion that could be made of Sega’s classic beat’em up. Everything that was good about the original was enhanced for the sequel and this new version for the 3DS eShop is nothing short of a near-perfect conversion of the beloved and iconic early 90s game.

Featuring twelve games, including some of the series' most iconic titles, as well as an enjoyable local multiplayer and a well designed online multiplayer (though not for all games in the collection), this might very well be one of the best collections ever made in the history of gaming.

Majora's Mask 3D is all that a remake of the original could ask for. Not only does Nintendo deliver the original's immersive plot, extremely challenging temples, multiple side-quests and the overall gloom and sorrow that surrounds the adventure, it still finds space for improvements, even at a handheld level. Let the inexperienced be warned, though: this will not go easy on the newly-arrived.
