    Dezatopia is a sidescrolling shoot'em up that features plenty of action but alas, it's plagued by a dreadful performance and an unintuitive control that takes time to get used to. The visual environment is very sub-par as well, and even though this is less relevant than the gameplay and performance, Dezatopia's soundtrack is far from enough to give any reasons of investing in this production.

    While its platforming mechanics are overall competent, there's virtually no improvement whatsoever over the original and the visible result is that of something which stopped in time one decade ago, even in the visual component. Having some new elements would be welcome too, but that has also been left out of this anniversary edition.

    Petit Novel Series: Harvest December may be aiming towards the Visual Novel genre but its lack of interactivity and consequent zero input from the player makes it not much more than an ebook. Its design is not compelling either, with a scarce amount of images that would keep the player interested and other than a long plot, it has no other assets that could captivate any player expecting a minimum amount of gameplay.

    Refunct has its advantages, it certainly helps the player relax and provides for a nice experience. Unfortunately Refunct is limited in what it gives the players: it is too short, too simple and its mechanics too limited for Refunct to be a truly enjoyable game. If Refunct made a greater effort at being a longer, more in-depth experience, it could be a recommended work.

    Wooden Sen'SeY shows some ambition but unfortunately, its badly implemented control schemes and physics make it extremely difficult and frustrating to play. Sadly, if these problems were addressed, this would be a much more attractive game but it's impossible going around such pressing control issues when the controls are so difficult to use.

    With plenty of characters, customization options and simple controls, the game is easy to get into but alas, the feeling of repetitiveness settles in too quickly and this Nintendo Switch conversion does not do a brilliant job when it comes to handheld experiences. Furthermore, its online component is very sparsely populated due to the lack of cross-platform functionalities and the price/quality relation tends to fall towards the negative side.

    Ambition of the Slimes could have been a more fun, dynamic and overall compelling strategy RPG were it not for its flaws and ill-conceived organization, which will result in very frustrating and repetitive combats and long moments of plain annoyance at how the game puts the player in combat with a very unforgiving system and difficult interaction.

    Devious Dungeon features a fairly interesting progression system, along with a healthy variety of enemies for the roguelike game that it is. Alas, it fails to deliver on the rest and the result is a game that is way too simple and unambitious for its own good, without any factors that redeem it from an overall repetitive and uninteresting experience.

    Warlocks 2: God Slayers starts off with good intentions and it features interesting, funny dialogues as well as an appealing visual environment and fluid animation. Sadly this is not enough to redeem it from its flaws and shortcomings, the most major of which a control system which quickly becomes cumbersome even for the simplest actions and which is unchangeable, as well as several gameplay problems that end up harming this game more than it would be acceptable.

    All the potential of Pac-Man and the Ghostly Adventures gets lost in an uninteresting mix of frustrating gameplay mechanics, camera failures and a short lifespan. Pity the iconic Namco character, who finds himself in an uninspired experience, surrounded by more captivating offers in the platforms genre.

    Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee is a conversion of a game that originally came out nineteen years ago and while the Oddworld series is undoubtedly an outstanding example in platform games, this conversion work falls way behind expectations. With few elements that will appeal to contemporary players, this will almost exclusively look interesting for fans of the original and brings little to the Nintendo Switch catalogue.

    Sonic Forces may have created some hype but unfortunately, it mostly falls flat on its face as it quickly becomes obvious that this game is an exercise in disappointment. While the action runs smoothly whether on a television screen or on handheld mode, the game's short and unimaginative levels, the absence of gameplay mechanics that had become a staple of 3D Sonic games, the unreliable controls and the mediocre soundtrack all add up to a very flawed game from which a lot more was expected.

    Destiny Connect: Tick-Tock Travelers presents itself as a JRPG with time traveling mechanics and there's nothing wrong with that. The problem is it doesn't fulfill any of its promises and other than a very enjoyable soundtrack, Tick Tock Travelers has very little going for it, as its poor visuals and plot demonstrate and very unhelpful gameplay mechanics further attest.

    Astro Bears Party is not a very ambitious game and it could perfectly fit within a bigger production. It still manages to bring some fun to a multiplayer session for a very short amount of time before falling into an overwhelming feeling of monotony, mostly due to its lack of content.

    Epic Dumpster Bear is competent at providing a hilarious, long-lasting and varied platforming experience that doesn't take itself too seriously. Beyond that, it's a rather standard game that doesn't rely on anything else, certainly not on its simple visual and audio atmosphere. While players looking for a funny platformer will be entertained, those who crave a more in depth and technically gratifying experience will look elsewhere.

    Warplanes: WW2 Dogfight represents a genre that is mostly absent on the Nintendo Switch and it does a decent job at providing the player with a wide choice of airplanes and missions. The problem is that its gameplay is simply too clunky and uninspiring, which coupled with its very lacklustre visuals and almost non-existing sound component make this an overall very disappointing effort that will not do any good for aerial combat games on the Nintendo Switch.

    Bit Dungeon+ brings dungeon crawling and roguelike elements to the Nintendo Switch along with a nostalgic art style and some fun combat moments. Unfortunately the game quickly feels like it's too simplistic. Adding to that, its skills system is quite difficult to understand and frequent glitches and a soundtrack that is unremarkable, at best, make Bit Dungeon an effort that is overall difficult to appreciate.

    Shadows 2: Perfidia tries to create an atmosphere of horror but the result is only a half-success: if the soundscape does a good job, the visual landscape is far from that and it turns out to be uglier than it is scary. It's not a remarkable feast of gameplay either, very simplistic but with a well implemented sanity mechanic. Shadows 2: Perfidia is not something that will raise the hair on everyone's neck but for those who are interested in a decent work of a horror-themed audio environment and a good use of a sanity mechanic, it can be a fun purchase.

    Tangram Style has no ambition and it shows. An overall dull and technically flawed experience, which will wear out the players’ patience and which does not in any way maximize the game’s potential lifespan derived from its very high number of puzzles, Tangram Style is only to be considered by those specifically looking for something like this.

    Legendary Eleven tries to capture the spirit of football's previous eras in a moment when the World Cup is about to start and while the intention is good (it certainly manages to do part of it), the execution throws its ambition on the ground. Due to a control system that makes the players feel like they are not in control at all and to a series of bugs and other technical flaws, the experience of Legendary Eleven is harmed beyond the levels of what is acceptable and the result is a game that is completely inadequate to what it proposes.

    While its gameplay is obviously based on the games that inspired it, Alphadia does not provide anything groundbreaking which could set it apart from other games of the genre and the lack of development of the characters or of any other of its elements condemn it to being a rather shallow effort which would greatly benefit from one or two new gameplay mechanics.

    Castle of Heart may seem appealing when looking at its still pictures but once the game starts moving, a more unpleasant reality kicks in: it's hard to control, the difficulty level is forced and at the same time, unchallenging and the game suffers from several design flaws that make this experience really difficult to enjoy.     Last Encounter joins the ranks of roguelike games on the Nintendo Switch and as a twin-stick shooter, it does a good job at presenting ideas regarding the ship's upgrading and an approach to combat that forces the player to think carefully. Unfortunately not all goes well, and the weight of the difficulty and limits to upgrades will erect a wall that becomes difficult to overcome. Dedicated roguelike fans will find it more bearable but the wider audience will quickly lose motivation.

Its platforming mechanics and controls are very well executed but the cumbersome details which impose endless grinding and the need for drawing skills beyond what is expected in the videogaming medium make this a work that is very difficult to enjoy, not to mention redundant.

    RIOT - Civil Unrest features a rather original premise that pits the player in civil strife scenes based off real world events and it does a decent job at that, especially as it allows the player to play both as the rioters and as the forces of order. Unfortunately the game suffers from too many unnecessary problems, including (crucially) issues with its control system and the lack of a tutorial doesn't help. The promise of future updates, on the other hand, is a plus.

    Nippon Marathon presents itself as a party game full of content and with a comically absurd concept which are two factors worth pointing out.     If at its core, the game itself remains good - it is, after all, the same as FIFA 19 - the product being sold under this name is simply not what EA should be presenting to its consumers. While updated squads and jerseys fit perfectly with the idea of a regular update to a football simulation, charging a full game's price for nothing but an update is simply unacceptable.

    Contra Rogue Corps marks the return of the Contra series and its premiere on the Nintendo Switch. Disappointingly, Wheels of Aurelia does not mange to fulfill all its promises and the game's interaction ends up feeling short and the way the dialogues are carried out does not live up to the game's premise.

    Moonfall Ultimate has some ambition when it draws inspiration from several renowned hack and slash and beat'em up games. The problem is, while its plot is minimally interesting and engaging, the game doesn't really present anything else that will strike a chord with the players and the combat system, its life and soul, is simply too dull, uninteresting and overly simplistic to give any trace of fun while paying Moonfall Ultimate.

In some moments, Twisted Fusion is even borderline unplayable, which coupled with its subpar visual environment, an enormous amount of bugs that should not have passed quality control and low precision platforming, lead to a game that needed a serious reworking before being made available.

It does not succeed at all it could, unfortunately, as its heavy and cumbersome gameplay, losses of fluidity and several technical issues end up plaguing the experience, whose plot is also too generic and unremarkable to make this a memorable horror game.

Explore the Dungeon Because I DON'T KNOW! tries and fails not only at being a decent playable effort, but even at portraying a popular animation series for its fans. If anything, it provides an example of what not to do in a game.

    Poisoft Thud Card is a card game that is simple enough to learn quickly and behaves like most card games do. Unfortunately it quickly becomes dull, as its lack of content stands out after a while and the fun provided quickly runs out. For a game that is supposed to fill empty moments with fun bouts of play, Poisoft Thud Card does the opposite.

    Back in 1995 joins the crowd of retro-inspired indie games on the Nintendo Switch catalogue. Unfortunately it gets nothing right. It tries to follow a different path than most retro-based games by taking an audiovisual line based on the 32-bit generation but fails at everything it attempts: a poor audiovisual environment, a clunky and unnerving gameplay and controls, and a plot that barely adds up, not to mention completely dysfunctional enemies. Any players longing for gaming experiences of the early days of the 32-bit generation should look elsewhere.

    It's baffling how Sonic Boom: Rise of Lyric draws inspiration from such good sources but fails at delivering almost everything it promises. Burdened by technical problems, a lackluster plot, confusing exploration mechanics and empty settings, Rise of Lyric needed a complete overhaul before being released.

    Yet another attempt to emulate Flappy Bird’s incredibly addictive/frustrating (scratch as appropriate) mechanics, Frenchy Bird brings its experience to the Wii U and with a stereotypical French treatment to its visual and sound components. Unfortunately, this is far from the ideal format for a game of this kind and there’s plenty of other similar titles on the market.

    ARK: Survival Evolved is an experience that has the right idea and concept to do well. Unfortunately this gets throw away by a very poor visual execution, which botches the game's quality and renders it nearly unplayable. It's a pity, as there are several ideas in this game which could flourish in a different environment.

    Ultra Off-Road 2019: Alaska for the Nintendo Switch is a driving game based on courses with difficult obstacles and conditioning factors but unfortunately there's very little here which provides a worthwhile experience for the player. Repetitive, unchallenging, with a poor and flawed audiovisual performance and without any appeal whatsoever, this is a game that should not have made its path to the Switch eShop.

    Chasing Dead is an uninspired and disappointing FPS with a zombie theme that doesn't break any ground in the midst of hundreds of games of the same genre. While some sections are well-presented and the use of real actors to narrate the plot is laudable, the players are left to their own devices with very little orientation, the visual execution harms the gameplay experience, the control system takes rather long to get used to and the enemy AI is chaotic and makes no sense.

    Jett Tailfin may seem like a decent proposal, given its Mario Kart inspiration and the amount of tracks, characters and background...but this quickly gets lost in a sea of faulty controls, a camera which does more harm than good, frequent slowdowns, poor artificial intelligence and a shoddy visual environment.

    Cartoon Network: Battle Crashers could have been a more appealing game thanks to the use of popular characters from Cartoon Network shows but unfortunately, none of this is fully explored as the game features a gameplay that pales next to any other game of the kind and the high price demanded for it only harms the game's standing even more, making it impossible to recommend to anyone.

    Steel Rivals comes off as a game which was not finished and simply not ready for a home release. This is a technically blotched effort that is unable to keep a minimum standard of visual stability, let alone offer a fun and compelling challenge. Add to this the dearth of visual stimulation, the disproportionate gap between the characters' capabilities and the complete lack of help or explanation given to the players and the result is a game that is simply not fun to play at all.

    There is nothing positive to highlight in Vroom in the night sky. Its gameplay mechanics are completely superficial and the game offers no depth of play, its audiovisual environments are outdated by three generations and the HD rumble function does more harm than good. Next to all those negative aspects, the very poor translations are nothing but a funny detail.

    The burden of mundane, everyday tasks does not seem like an attractive premise for a videogame. Yet, this is what Life With Horses 3D mostly consists of. Uninteresting and difficult to control racing and management activities, plagued by bothersome duties and outdated graphics which will only put away any enthusiasm for this game, Life With Horses 3D does not stand out in any field.

    It's refreshing and even praiseworthy that there's a game for the 3DS built entirely around its Augmented Reality capabilities. Sadly, there's very little substance to support this effort and Bubble Pop World ends up being a failed attempt to follow the legacy of Bust-a-Move. Overall, this is an uninteresting title, which does not motivate the player to discover the potential of AR technology.

    Even after trying very hard, it’s impossible to find something worthy about Angry Bunnies. This Angry Birds clone is a very unpolished and flawed piece of work, which although displaying a certain degree of effort on level design, does not compel the players in any way.

    My Exotic Farm does not stand out in any of the fields it tries to follow: farm managing and animal care. Had it followed one of these, it could perhaps stand on its own legs but as it is, My Exotic Farm isn’t more than a tedious and repetitive piece of work with very little content to speak of.

    Fishdom H2O: Hidden Odyssey ends up not rising above the waterline, as its fun factor is too short-lived and its gameplay quickly becomes too repetitive. The proliferation of similar titles on the World Wide Web, where games about looking for objects are very common, makes Hidden Odyssey a passable title, only recommended to those who are enthusiastic about staring at aquaria.

    A strategy game without much strategy to speak of cannot make it far. This is the case of European Conqueror 3D, which intends to bring the player to the war theatres of World War II, but rather ends up becoming an extremely dull war of its own between the players and their patience to put up with the extremely slow pace of play and stale audiovisual environments.

    Shiny the Firefly may have an excellent artwork but it immediately becomes a dull and repetitive experience that fails to captivate or pose a significant challenge. Based on the game's art, this could be taken further and into more promising fields but faced with a gameplay that is all but compelling and interesting, there is little choice left other than leave Shine the Firefly in the (digital) shelf.

    Riding Star 3D is a collection of failed experiences, repetitive challenges, flawed controllers and outdated graphics. It's hard to see how this game brings any added value to the 3DS catalogue, as all its elements are simply unworthy of exploring.
