  1. Fails as a sequel because we’re not in the 90s anymore. Gone are the days when characters could answer questions with questions and hypothetical situations and still sound clever and cool.
  2. ATL
House definitely put a smile on an insider's face, but outsiders can enjoy the ATL too. The only prerequisite here is the ability to laugh.
  3. If you're over the age of 11, there's obviously not much reason to see this.

B movies are fun because they're rinky dink. I got the joke and just didn't like the joke even though I respect Gunn for doing what he wanted to do.

With brilliant dialogue out of the 1940s and graceful visuals that add depth to the dark comedy, Johnson debuts with a smart, self-assured feature that portrays adolescence like no other film has.

The Beastie Boys have delivered the ultimate gift to their fans and the title couldn't be more perfect.

With this film, I believe that the strange and wonderful legend of Daniel Johnston will only continue to grow.
  4. The primary weakness is in the story itself, which at times seems like mere background for the snappy banter and knowing glances.

I never really expected something so utterly lame-brained. Though, the film is not as awful as I've heard, it's quite possibly the laziest script I've ever seen.
  5. Beautifully shot and filled with lovable characters you could watch for hours, Americano is an amazing journey that makes one yearn for travel.

As a director, Underdahl can't entirely decide whether he's making a Hollywood film, a film school film, or post modern film.

Affleck is dead on as the hapless Jim but the film is nearly stolen from him by Mark Boone Jr. who plays Jim's drug induced Uncle Evil. Kevin Corrigan is also great as Jim's brother Tim.

The last act of American Gun is quite possibly one of the most ridiculous and forced dramatic twists I've seen in years.

    It's just dumb.
  6. With its emphasis on dialogue and political machinations over explosions and kung fu fighting, it remains to be see whether or not V for Vendetta will actually find one (a wider audience).

The film isn't as funny as the highly publicized conflict over the sell of its distribution rights might have you believe, but does contain a series of energized and entertaining performances that stop it from being a complete failure.

Marull's Pilar is quietly powerful and agonizingly terrorized as the '50s-style wife muted and bound by duty.

The narrative that unfolds in the wake of Spence's journey recalls "Paris" but walks too heavy for a character study to gel.
  7. The true power of the film comes from young Marko Kovacevic, who plays the poetic child lost in a family and culture where poetry has no meaning.

It sadly really never lives up to the potential and excellence it's really capable of.

A film that normally someone like Adam Sandler would star in, but for some reason Matthew McConaughey decided to star and show that he's still not funny.

When Aja really starts in on the brutal slayings, he spares no one any comfort at all.
  8. Sometimes Duck Season is amusing. More often, though, it is boring and icky.

Not a film for everyone. If you are squeamish about children being placed in danger then do not see this film.

Fails to make use of its clever dialogue and concepts as it attempts to become something more profound.

Rogerson has crafted an emotionally satisfying exploration of the creative process through people who, before the program started, weren't comfortable with expressing themselves at all.
  9. Thanks to a compact story and some economical direction, it actually ends up better than it has any right to be.
  10. A wholly entertaining film, both as a musical experience and in seeing a fairly relaxed Dave Chappelle doing some of what he does best.
  11. Although it looks cool, appearances aren’t everything.
