Contra Rebirth doesn’t represent a revolution in the actual gaming scene. Just because it doesn’t care at all. Contra is here, with its destruction, challenging gameplay and devastating fun: perfect for those who can appreciate it, the others could as well seek for something else, but not without knowing that they’re throwing away an option to see how much fun a good game can deliver.

The framerate problems shatter and destroy the game's whole structure. Its unbereable slowness hampers the gameplay and ruins the typical Harvest Moon experience. Animal Parade could have been among the best in the series: with those problems, it's one of the worst.

Even on a technical level, the work is not flawless: although the city has postcard views and sets up an atmosphere of refined elegance, in fact, some graphical updates show the side of obvious, yet never limiting, uncertainties.

It is precisely when exploration takes over mild combat that Axiom Verge 2 shines the most, revealing a "two-sided" universe full of details and secrets that is certainly worth bringing to the surface.

It's a shame that some battles appear unnecessarily verbose at times. Also valuable is the extravagance of some characters, which manages to stand out in a context in which many of the supporting characters end up being poorly characterised. The problems lie in the limited exploration, in a universe that is too bare and also in a very angular progression system. Fans of the brand will be satisfied with the high rate of replayability, but Square Enix will not be able to expand the community of the series. It's not necessarily a problem. The important thing is to be aware of the type of audience Emerald Beyond is aimed at.

The formula is the one you already know, so if you have grown tired of the saga, this chapter probably won't get you back in the game. On the other hand, Syndicate has some interesting twist and turns in the gameplay, it offers an incredible Victorian London to explore and some very well built missions along the way that will keep the fans busy for many hours.

An addictive and funny multiplayer is the core of the new Twisted Metal, which delivers a dark story-driven single player as well.

As many other games developed by Level-5, Yo-Kai Watch is a well-rounded RPG, perfect to address a younger audience. On the long run, though, the battles become somehow boring and the narrative weakens.

Reinventing Windjammers in 2017 on Playstation 4 is a peculiar and highly educational experience.

Being enveloped by the atmosphere of Evil Dead: The Game, by the cold of dismay and the heat of blood is a real pleasure: the beauty of terror is more evident than ever and allows the franchise to get out of that vortex of negativity that has overwhelmed the its videogame incarnations. The problems on the content and gameplay front could compromise the longevity of the title, whose long-term success remains an unknown at the moment. The hope is that the developers work hard to constantly entertain a community of enthusiasts who can keep production alive, so that the blood continues to flow for a long time to come.

The first chapter is way better than the second, but it's an overall very interesting offer for all the fans of The New Order.
