Quarrel is a charming and challenging little wordgame for a very resonable price. It's cleverly designed and is a delight to play against friends over Xbox Live or in your living room.

You're going to have a blast with WipEout 2048. The intensity, controls, level design and music make this a must-have for all racing freaks looking forward to Sony's new hardware.

Payday 2 is a real gem of a cops and robbers game when everything clicks. Overkill manages to capture the atmosphere of classic heist movies and the gameplay is about a whole lot more than just shooting cops. Artificial intelligence is a joke though and the game is pulled down by quite a few bugs that can be anything from annoying to totally game breaking.

Ghost Recon: Future Soldier is a game that excels with its fantastic campaign, although I'm somewhat dissatisfied that I can't move dead bodies, which is possible in other games featuring stealth. Anyway, you will definitely have a great time with this game if you like tactical shooters.

More a missed opportunity than anything else, The Unfinished Swan is a pleasant fairytale story with a some good ideas and one or two magic moments. In the end though it is easy to come away with the feeling that this was a brief and very linear experience that just hinted at something that could have been truly great.

A nice mix of a handful different genres, where tower defense and Angry Birds are the most prominent ingredients. As you can probably imagine, the use of so many game mechanics at the same time can get too messy from time to time. The game is still worth checking out, though.

A repackaged version of Marvel vs. Capcom 3 with added characters, gameplay balancing and slightly improved netcode. For newcomers to the series, getting into this will be a harsh and unforgiving journey, but for fans it's a must thanks to the added characters and slight balance tweaks.

This is probably the first actual 'mature' videogame, dealing with issues such as insecurity, infidelity and marriage anxiety. Atlus manages to cleverly marry a narrative-based story with clever puzzle based platforms levels and delivers a highly enjoyable, but odd, game. Yes, the story turns weirder than a Hunter S. Thompson novel about half way through, but even that turn doesn't diminish the overall package. This is as close to a must-buy as it can get.

The shift mechanic is the real star here, and transforms even the most ordinary sequences into thrilling race experiences. But there are flaws, such as logical mis-steps in the storyline and generic presentation. They don't matter too much though, especially in the multiplayer mode.

Prototype 2 is one of those games that makes you feel like the ultimate badass. Radical Entertainment knows how to do destruction in a great way. They might not know how to tell a good story, but they sure know how to make an extremely entertaining experience.

Mario vs. Donkey Kong: Mini-Land Mayhem delivers exactly what it should, and is yet another challenging puzzle games for the Nintendo DS. Fun and well made, but without much innovation.

Thirteen steps forward, two steps back? Final Fantasy XIII-2 resolves most of the main problems that the first game had, while introducing a number of new ideas, of which a few feel underwhelming or completely out of place. The characters, visuals, story are engaging and the narrative better told. It will be a hard sell for skeptics of the first game, but for fans it's an essential play.

Golden Sun: Dark Dawn delivers many hours of fun for role playing game lovers out there, and both the main story and the sidequests get better as the game progresses. The story may be a little jumbled at times, but the combat mechanics more than make up for it.

If you are a The Sims-fan this is a no-brainer and you probably already playing this. For the rest of us, not already commited to this game, the expansion adds to the already massive micro management of The Sims 3 which in turn disturbs the flow of the game and at times becomes rather tedious, almost a chore. Don't let the cute furballs fool you, this is The Sims 3 and if your not into this game before then this expansion, solid as it may be, will not make you a believer.

The game mechanics are even better than the third game, but it still lacks quality in the story and this time even in the AI. Play this with your friends or get ready for gears of frustration.

Baldur's Gate is still among the finest RPG's out there and this is truly an enhanced version of the original. It still has flaws but overall it is a big improvement and the developers has made the game available to a whole new generation of players.

Yakuza 4 isn't as compelling as the third game, nor does it introduce a lot of new, interesting features. But it's still a fun romp, and sometimes when I walk down the streets in Kabukicho it feels like I'm back in Shinjuku, and that's a rare feat. Not for everone, but fans of the series could do worse.

Last year I raved over Madden NFL 11 and loved most of the features in the game. This year is either a transition year with small adjustments or my great score from 2010 was a product of my absence from the series for over ten years. If you are a hard core NFL fan that craves every small adjustment Madden NFL 12 may be for you but the rest of us can wait for a price drop or just go and play Madden NFL 11.

A real classic that shouldn't be missed if you can't play Metal Gear Solid HD Collection or the older versions with better controls. You'll need the classic controller as well to enjoy this properly as well.

There is really no reason not to buy MotorStorm RC on Vita; the price tag is merely 5 euros and if you are in the least interested in racing and just a tiny bit competitive you will have many hours of fun. This is mobile arcade racing as it is supposed to be.

Theatrhythm Final Fantasy stands tall on the merits of the soundtrack – picking up solid tunes from the first 13 numbered games. Combining the best-of practices of other rhythm games and blending in some light roleplaying elements freshens up the mix. With a lesser game franchise behind it, or with less epic music, it would likely fall flat. With three varied playing styles, lots of incentives to perform better, makes this a hard game to put down. From the sheer nostalgic moments induced by the soundtrack, to the high-intensity tapping required to master the harder difficulties - this is a monumental experience.

Tomb Raider Trilogy is an essential collection for PlayStation 3 owners that neatly wraps up Crystal Dynamics' work on the core franchise so far. Anniversary ends up being the shining gem of the collection, and despite some flaws it still delivers an immersive experience.

Tales of Xillia doesn't so much innovate as it does refine the stable foundation laid by the previous games, at least not from a gameplay mechanics standpoint. Where it really shines is in the characterization, the world building and the mature, dark story. Choosing to play as either the young care-free Jude Mathis or the supernatural Milla Maxwell determines partially how the story is perceived and told. Tales of Xillia is one of the finest games to come out of Namco's Tales Studio and easily rivals, and in some cases clearly outshines, the competition within the JRPG genre this generation.

Stealth Inc. is packed with great level design and has a nice balance between tactics and reaction speed.

The main focus in EA Sports Active 2.0 is the training itself, and not the game aspect. The different training options are varied, and give a really good excercise, but the best part is that I want to keep working out even after the session is complete.

A brave restart of a game that arguably should've never been made. For a series primarily resting on the solitary player experience, it manages the transition to a multiplayer environment beautifully. There's enough content, races, classes and things to do to keep both new players and old MMO-foxes occupied for a long while, and all of it well realised with the worldbuilding skills of the Final Fantasy teams.

Killzone: Mercenary fills an important void in the PS Vita game library. Finally it has a great exclusive first person shooter.

Skullgirls is a joy to play, and the price tag of 1200 is amazing, seeing as it contains just as much as its full-priced counterparts.The only negative point is the lack of characters, which shortens the games longevity, but that doesn't stop it from being amazingly fun. Skullgirls are here to stay.

The highly anticipated return to Dunwall gets tainted by the fact that Dishonored's sum is greater than its parts. When these parts are separated from each other in uneven trial the brilliance is somewhat lost. Great concept art sketches, though.

Some games are larger than the sum of their parts, but in this instance the individual parts are greater than the sum. If you can disregard the lowly story mode told in a painful and often embarrasing manner, this is a rather good arena-based rpg/fighting game hybrid that requires a good mixture of reflexes and tactics. Also, the music and character selection is a love letter to fans of the Final Fantasy series.

A charming and beautiful minimalistic puzzle platform game that offers both a gripping and amusing story through its great narration.

Grid 2 will speak to fans of the original game, but it doesn’t really do anything brand new or different. But in the end, sometimes we don’t need a revolution, just something that’s bigger, faster and prettier.

Taking inspiration from games such as the Call of Duty-series, this is less of a flight simulator and more of an action game played in the air, and is all the better for it. The somewhat tedious flight missions are mixed up with much more entertaining helicopter-missions and the online modes for both competition and co-op work well.

El Shaddai is the most visually interresting game I have seen so far. And beyond the visuals lies a game with great controls, balanced difficulty and an excellent mixture of fighting, 2D and 3D platforming. I love it when developers do something different and actually succeed.

Mario will always be Mario, but the constant coin-chasing has ironically enough led to some inflation. It's a great game, but we won't remember it as one of those immortal Mario classics.

A slight step forward for a franchise that has struggled just behind the competition for almost a full console generation. Better ball and player physics plus improved player graphics for the top tier players brings something extra. Arena atmospheres are also great. Sadly the last PES of a generation is slightly marred by choppy frame rates.

Marvel vs. Capcom: Origins offers two great fighting experiences with mechanics that hold up even today. It might stand in the shadows of the sequels, but for those of you who want to see what it looked like the first time Gambit beat up Mega Man, you can't go wrong with this game.

Julian Gollop is back with yet another masterful turn based strategy game, and if you can see beyond the weak story and the gimmicky 3D effects - that don't to much to enhance the bland graphics - you'll find a spiritual successor to his old games. Laser Squad: Shadow Wars would have been an equally good name.

A strong heritage results in a bland mix of mini games. To only include three competitive games (which happens to be the best thing in this compilation) is just insane, especially when the majority of the others goes from "pretty okay" to "horrible".

This HD remake offers a lot of bang for your buck with hours upon hours of gameplay. Although it's just the main game that truly delivers a good combination of story, fan service and combat. The other two titles doesn't even come close to the level of the original, which is a shame.

Starhawk is a very basic but entertaining MMO shooter with a strategic base building twist - jet fighters turning into battle mechs is rarely a bad idea. The single-player experience is almost laughable, but the online multiplayer experience is addictive.

Skylanders: Giants makes the beloved franchise bigger than ever. There are more Skylanders, bigger Skylanders and more game content than ever. While it doesn't do anything to break the mold, it's a really good game for children and parents alike.

Devil May Cry HD Collection is an absolute must for fervent action enthusiasts, and showcases Capcom's pedigree. The HD quality shines through in almost all aspects, except perhaps the menus and the film sequences, but this is proof that quality never goes out of style.

F1 2013 is a very well made simulation of one of the fastest racing competitions in the world. While the game is demanding at points there are enough assists and tools to help a newcomer get better. This is a game that will make you gasp at the sense of speed and grip your controller through tight corners like not many others can.

SoulCalibur V fits the bill if you want a quick duel against a friend via the online or offline mode, but to be honest the unbalanced character roster, bugs and lazy design is offputting. Project Soul promised us so much more, but the end result is disappointing.

Twisted Dreams is the ultimate mash up between modern game design and old school platformer. The common usage of power-ups is left behind when everything is unlocked from the very beginning. Instead it's your way of playing that has to evolve in sync with the gradually higher difficulty on later levels.

The game mechanics are solid, bosses are satisfying creatures. The Suda 51/Mikami/Yamaoka trio clearly have a lot of ideas on their plate, but the games' infantile humor and macho bravado goes a little too far, and the end result lacks the magic that's promised in the beginning.

Because of its name it's fitting that MotorStorm: Apocalypse is somewhat of a rebirth for the series, and the racing feels fresher than ever. It may have lost a bit of its identity whilst borrowing so much from SplitSecond, but the apocalyptic city setting is so strong that it doesn't matter. The best MotorStorm game yet.

Sonic Generations is a great history lesson about the series descent from greatness. It starts off fantastic and the 2d-part is good overall, but the 3d-versions of the tracks are filled with the same problems the series has had in the later half of its lifespan. On top of that there are way too few levels and the quality of them is anywhere between great and horrible.

Spec Ops: The Line is one of the better shooters of 2012, and shouldn't be missed. With an interesting and well told story the game offers a journey through a horrible situation that shows how fast a civilized society can crumble under extreme circumstances.

Kirby has always managed to be fun for both kids and adults, but his latest adventure is only for the young ones. Never before has the pink little creature felt so average.

Sanctum 2 brings improved balance between it’s FPS and Tower Defense mechanics, making it one of the most engaging and intensive additions to this hybrid genre.

Revelations takes the Resident Evil series back to its origin and delivers a true survival horror experience. It´s delightful to see that someone at Capcom still knows exactly what made the series so great in the first place. At a first glance it might not look so impressing, but this game is definitely better than the sum of its parts.

Despite a few minor shortcomings it's very hard to say something negative about Quantum Conundrum. It's a very charming game that manages to strike the same chords that the Portal games did, and does it well.

The dark fantasy world of Soul Sacrifice has a wonderful tension to it and the game has a wonderful narrative, however it’s core mechanics are not what they should be. For a game that focuses so much on fighting it’s also kind of disappointing that only the boss fights are worthwhile.

Virtua Tennis 4: World Tour Edition is a good tennis game at heart, and the series has been criticised far too much in the past. However, the Vita edition doesn't bring too much to the table, but feel free to check it out if you absolutely need a game of tennis on the go.

Penny Arcade Episode 3 shines through as a well-written and truly funny, fantasy comedy. However, it loses some of it's momentum due to a lack of variation in the actual gameplay elements.

Duels of the Planeswalkers 2012 is the most accessable version of Magic to date. Experienced players may feel limited by the premade decks and the slightly flawed single player modes, but it's still good fun and well worth its price.

A terrific and terrifying launch title that actually tries to make use of the new hardware in a meaningful way, while also keeping high production values. I recommend all new Wii U owners to take a look at Zombie U.

The Sims Medieval tries to reinvigorate the series, and ends up losing most of what made the previous games great, instead taking the game off into a very different and overly simplistic direction, shedding all freedom for no real benefit.

TERA is a fantasy MMO-game that eschews the well worn concept of MMO-combat for something draws more inspiration from games like Devil May Cry and God of War than World of Warcraft. Visually stunning, though a bit heavy on the fan service side, TERA delivers fast paced combat and a rich world to conquer, either by force or through politics. All in all, an enjoyable experience.

Hamilton is in for a great adventure in this charming and playful game. Not even the University of Chicago gave Indiana Jones this much of a challenge.

The latest entry in Namco's Tales of-series to reach the Western markets feels suitably old-school. It's eerily reminiscent of the best JRPGs the PlayStation 2 had to offer, and delivers a nostalgic experience to when role-playing games were more than flashy graphics and interactive cut-scenes. With a high focus on quick, tactical combat, interesting characters and a well-told (but slightly predictable) story, Tales of Graces F is a solid experience. It's the game every PlayStation 3 owner was waiting for at the generational switch from PlayStation 2.

Just Dance 4 is the obvious choice when you feel like you want a party game to play with your friends. It has developed a lot since last time, the songs are really good and its choreography is very entertaining and easy to pick up. Dance Central has to look out.

You can tell that the developers are fans of Transformers because the whole campaign is filled with love and respect for the source material. The lacking multiplayer prevents Fall of Cybertron from reaching the highest peaks, but it's still a really great game.

A monster collector game that draws on the Dragon Quest series fauna of iconic monsters. Being more complex than Pokémon, this is a game to be played primarily for the joy of breeding and raising little monsters, as the story offers little interest. If you like Dragon Quest and Pokémon, this is the a game for you.

A fun and lighthearted action RPG for kids ages 5 and up where you control Spyro and his friends as they battle the evil Kaos. The unique toy based character system, where each game character corresponds to a unique plastic toy, makes playing at your friend's house easy, though the cost of buying all the optional figures is substantial.

Luigi’s expansion is as big as a whole new game filled of playful and innovative level design. The significantly higher difficulty level is welcome and feels like atribute to The Lost Levels, and if you’ve ever liked challenging platform games New Super Luigi U is a must have.

With its outstanding design and smart puzzles, Insanely Twisted Shadow Planet takes you on a ride through creator Michel Gagnés vivid imagination. The end result is a Metroidvania styled game that's well worth its 1200 MS Points.

I’ve had fun with Crysis 3, but not as much fun as I had with the two games that came before it. This is not a bad game by any means, but it is the least good in the series so far.

LEGO Harry Potter: Years 5-7 is a game experience as refined as it is typical. You get to follow Harry Potter and his friends as they finish their epic fight against Voldemort in this light hearted adventure puzzle game. It will delight LEGO and Harry Potter fans alike, but if you were already bored with the previous game, this is one to skip.

A joyful and intriguing experience. I love how the developer trusts my instincts and completely lets go off my hand right from the start. Super cute creatures and wonderfully warm environments makes it a particularity good choice for the younger audience.

Despite some glitches, this is a very polished game that is drop dead gorgeous and it actually offers a great game beneath the beautiful surface.

Rome II is bigger and more than its predecessor on all fronts but more is not always better. While the battles are more cinematically grand than ever, the strategic map is bogged down by more illusion of choice than previously. There is lots of fun to be had here but several annoying design decisions do their best to try and keep me from having it.

Beneath the oversexualized surface with bouncing breasts and moaning girls, we can find one of this generation's best fighting games, no matter if you're new or old to the concept. Team Ninja has enhanced the mechanics in every single detail and it hasn't felt this good to counter-attack a well-placed punch as in this game. The really new stuff may seem to be few at the beginning, but they will have a strong impact when you have learned the difference.

Call of Juarez: Gunslinger lifts the franchise after the failure that was The Cartel. When you find yourself in a duel with sheriff Pat Garrett, you’ll forget everything about Battlefield and Modern Warfare. At least for a while.

Twisted Metal offers tonnes of action, both online and offline. The story mode is lacking, but the co-op mode makes it an enjoyable experience for those who have enough patience to overcome the somewhat complicated controls.

I'm going to go as far as to say that Popcap Games have created a nearly perfect puzzle game and for 800 Microsoft Points, there's no reason not to invest in Zuma's Revenge.

The customisation options are the main focus in this portable golf game, but apart from that the game treads on very familiar ground. I'd hold out for an inevitable Tiger Woods game if I were you.

Overall Rhythm Thief & the Emperor's Treasure is a must-buy for all 3DS-owners. You will be treated to a great adventure that you'll want to play over and over again and more crazy minigames than you ever dreamed of. Now I'm waiting for a sequel.

Shadowrun Returns is a faithful reinterpretation (and in a vague sense, sequel) to the SNES game from 20 years ago, maybe a bit too faithful. Though most aspects of the the wild and unruly Shadowrun world is included, the promise of this game lies more in the open embrace of the mod community than the included adventure.

Alan Wake's American Nightmare is highly entertaining and has an interesting twist that ought to be fleshed out into a full-length game. In other words this is an excellent appetizer until we get the real sequel. Hopefully this won't take too long.

This year's iteration of FIFA Street takes the series in a new direction, and i like it. A lot of the arcade-style gameplay is gone and have been replaced with something that feels more authentic without losing the playfulness and fun that the series is known for.

A polished version of last year's game with an excellent new mode based on the WWE-side of the classic Monday Night Wars. Sadly the gameplay is a bit too reversal heavy and the contact engine is still a bit iffy but otherwise a positive case of not fixing what isn't broke.

A multiplayer centric WW2 shooter that puts great emphasis on realistic mechanics and ambiance. Unfortunately realism does not always translate into fun, resulting in a game with little appeal except to the hardcore fans of the era.

Da Vincis disappearance is not only a very good DLC for its prize tag, but also a perfect ending after the original ending, so to speak. The single player story is of greater value than the multiplayer material, but the four characters and the new Protect Mode makes it worthwhile even if you don't care about Ezio's adventuring. They could have thrown in one or two more maps, though.

ShootMania is a difficult game to rate. The pre-made game modes that come packed with the game are kind of disappointing and not that fun to play. At the same time, the tools for creating own content such as new game modes, maps and weapons are fantastic in every way, and gives us players everything that is necessary to create splendid game-play in an entertaining way. If you like creating or modifying things, this is the game for you. If you just want a good shooter game on the other hand, you should probably wait and see if the community will create any amazing game modes before you buy ShootMania Storm.

LEGO Star Wars III: The Clone Wars offers exactly what you expect – no more, no less. Despite new game mechanics, such as RTS-parts and more spaceship battles, this game clearly shows that the LEGO franchise is in desperate need of something new. It's the visually most impressive LEGO-game of them all, but then again – we say that every time, don't we?

Diggs Nightcrawler is a really charming story presented in an awesome way. Though some game play elements are kind of bad, the funny characters and a smart integration with the Wonderbook makes up for most of the flaws.

The Dream Machine is probably the best browser game we've played, and lives up to all expectations one might have of a modern adventure game.

Paper Mario: Sticker Star is a worthy successor in the Paper Mario-series that will probably satisfy both veterans and newbies. Most of us will unmercifully get stuck within a puzzle or a dead end, but do know that there's no shame in looking for answers on the Internet.

Doesn't quite live up to its own potential, and is ultimately bogged down by some poor gameplay decisions. It borrows and repurposes core gameplay ideas from previous games, adds a few new ideas into the mix – but the end result doesn't quite shine as brightly as it should. At worst, it feels like a hodge-podge of ill-suited ideas glued together in the most superficial ways. But the storyline delivers a good conclusion to the previous side tracks and builds up a lot of anticipation for the next main game.

Thieves in Time resembles a mini game collection made for PlayStation 2. The rough graphics, ridiculously long loading times and at times tedious platforming moments are justified by a well told story and lovingly created mini games.

Sonic & All-Stars Racing: Transformed for the PS Vita might not be quite as good as its siblings on home consoles, but it comes really close.

WWE All Stars contains arcade-style wrestling that borrows freely from regular fighting games, introducing concepts such as juggling to a genre that doesn't quite benefit from it. The inprecise controls are frustrating, and overall the game offers a decisively average gameplay experience.

Tiger Woods PGA Tour 13 is a great golf game that takes the series in a new direction. More direct control of the shots and better physics makes it a lot more demanding, but also a lot more fun.

As a grindhouse-esque story House of the Dead: Overkill - Extended Cut doesn't impress much. Neither does it as an on-rails shooter, or as a fun experience. However, with a friend this can remind you of gaming sessions of old at your local arcade, and that's at least something.

The first Zone of the Enders serves more like an introduction to the mythology. The real meat of this collection is the gorgeous and fast-paced Zone of the Enders: 2nd Runner. Complete with all the additional content only previously available in the original limited special edition release, it's still a treat to play. And of course, there's that demo disc of Metal Gear Rising: Revengance.
