On the PC you read the battles better and more immediately and have an easier time, translating the desired action onto the screen. You really become a better fighter in this incarnation. In a genre where milliseconds can make all the difference, this ultimately makes for a more enjoyable experience in total. Ninja Theory really did go the extra mile for the PC, giving DmC the last little push it needed to become something really special.

Shovel Knight is all that we once held dear at the tail-end of the eighties, distilled into one beautiful new game.

Lies of P: Overture adds a beautiful chapter to a fantastic game. The only criticism you could levy against it, is that it's not as essential to this game's world as it should be.

Although highly formulaic, this open-world adventure is incredibly engaging because both the action and the completion of numerous tasks, including the extensive character development associated with them, feel excellent.

JRPG fans who subscribe to the school of thought that imagination can triumph over any of the logical inconsistencies this particular genre regularly brings with it, will welcome this as the new king of their genre. Everyone else will find this to be competent in the gameplay department, visually and acoustically arresting - and completely confused in terms of story.

Every frame is stunningly composed, the voice actors as fitting as they are talented. On PC, even the tech has come a long way since The Walking Dead, which helps to get totally wrapped-up in this extraordinary murder mystery. This close to the release of Beyond: Two Souls, there's also something to be said about characters that are believable and relatable, without having to bank on star power and performance capture.

Ultimately, Cyberpunk 2077 is one of the most remarkable games you can buy for the launch of the Switch 2. Firsty, because the port proves what Nintendo's console is technically capable of. And secondly because this is just a massive, excellent RPG that has matured nicely, indeed.

On Wii U this stays an essential buy for everyone that hasn't played it yet. It is a very, very accomplished game and great for all the reasons the original was a few months ago, but you don't have to buy it again for the WiiU. Also, it doesn't do much to prove that conversions to this platform are necessarily better than their 360 or PS3 counterparts. It's still 'just' one of the best games in recent years as it was back in summer.

Ender Magnolia is an excellent Metroidvania, that is definitely worth your time. Sure, you need a certain level of stress resistance when you come to the boss fights, but then again, who plays games because they’re cozy.

The resource management is pleasantly challenging, and the story poses interesting questions. However, the emotional component is crushed by inconsistent, far too pragmatic dialogue and decisions.

There's a good four years of development time on display in Battleblock Theater and even though the light-hearted but mischievous brand of carnage tries its best to ensure you that you are only partaking in a boatload of puerile nonsense, you really notice every hour The Behemoth has put into this. The fighting might not be up to scratch, but the measured level design shows a degree of polish worthy of this genre's masters. So, it's up to you to decide, if the style and its over-sugared, over-caffeinated Saturday morning cartoon sensibilities float your boat. What you can't do anything about, though, is the fact that The Behemoth has mastered three different genres with only three games.

That's exactly what such games are all about, and it's outstandingly implemented here. If you liked Shadow Tactics and / or Desperados 3, don't think twice and get Shadow Gambit, you won't regret it.

With the Apollo Justice Trilogy, Capcom has released what is probably the most successful Ace Attorney collection for the current console generation. Both the design of the 2D and 3D models in the RE engine and the bonus material are impressive. An excellent example of how to bring back aged games in a successful fan package for the current generation.

A well made The special thing about the latest collection is undoubtedly that it brings us in the West a brand new game. One that is a good deal better than the first part of the series. For this reason alone - and for the sake of completion - it is worth buying the collection for fans of the series.

Great performance, but visually and stylistically a bit lacklustre. In terms of gameplay, however, The Lost Crown is beyond reproach: Precise, challenging platforming, cool puzzles and multi-faceted combat make this new Prince of Persia a treat for Metroidvania fans.

Even though Ninja Theory didn't finish as spectacularly as I would have hoped after the first half of the campaign, this game leaves you in the soothing certainty that you can count on Dante again. For the most part DmC is a pretty damned exciting and good-looking title that exactly knows where it belongs and what it wants to be. And because the Cambridge-based developers are quite the storytellers, this technical and elegant slasher works on even more levels than just the combat, something that was never really true for the DMC's of old.
