Tales of the Abyss won’t be going toe-to-toe with "Final Fantasy XII" any time soon, but is a fun and entertaining tale in its own right.

American Conquest is a solid RTS that will entertain many a history buff and the casual gamer alike. Though it does have its share of issues, the game is still worth checking out.

The game’s two biggest failings are that it’s too short and too easy.

Offers a few new welcome twists to the racing genre. The fully-realized island of Oahu is fun to drive around in and beautiful to see, and the many different missions make the game fun for different types of players.

The bottom line, however, is how much enjoyment will be gained by picking up OutRun 2: Coast 2 Coast – and it's a lot. Those that find the Project Gotham or Gran Turismo franchises a bit intimidating have a game to pick up and play for a long time.

Remember playing Lemmings "back in the day"? If you do and can't be bothered to search out any of the free versions for the PC or if you want to be able to play it "on the go" then this is for you.

GT Legends may appeal more to hardened racers, but it may tempt the more inexperienced group of gamers too.

There's no revolution going on here, but NBA 2K8 is as solid as ever.

This one has a better story that makes playing through it worth the time investment.

Pac-Man: Championship Edition is a surprisingly fun retooling of the classic that may even find fans in those that didn’t care for the original. It’s just a shame it’s a tad feature-poor and a little pricey.

Stats-addicts and control freaks, rejoice! Baseball Mogul 2007 has most of what fans of sports management sims look for, and does it all without wasting your time, thanks to a fast sim engine!

In the final analysis, Suikoden V brings the series back to basics in terms of what made past titles appealing, after a radical departure in Suikoden IV.

A good game that should have been better. Hopefully there will be a sequel to bring more game modes in, but the Pokemon theme needs to be turned down if not tossed completely.

Dragon Quest Monsters – Joker delivers some much-needed freshness to the monster collecting genre, but don’t expect it to be Dragon Quest IX. It’s just pure monster-collecting fun.

ATV Offroad Fury 4 is another great extension of the series that manages to keep things fresh with tight handling, improved physics, and an assortment of gameplay modes including tons of multiplayer options.

It’s not perfect, it’s not available on next-gen systems, but for control freaks, it may be the most exhaustively complete sports SIM ever released on a console.

While some PS2 owners will be glad their old platform is getting some port-down love, the game just isn't getting any better from a graphical standpoint.

The story is very good, but the gameplay execution leaves me wanting. A solid adventure game, but it seems to be coasting on the strength of its star.

Cars is a good adaptation of the Pixar film, providing a fun kart racer appealing to the younger crowd, with racing AI good enough to captivate older racing game fans.

This is yet another solid Castlevania game, but the series is starting to tire out thanks to a lack of worthwhile change. What changes this game does make simply don’t cut it, and while Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin is still a decent title, it happens to be far too much like the last decent title in the series.

If you've never played the first Tomb Raider, this is a great way to go about it. If you have, this is a great way to get reacquainted with it.

It’s a Doom RPG from cell phones with a fantasy theme ported to the DS. Odd? Sure, but it’s a good, unique dungeon crawler that’s surprisingly addictive in spite of its somewhat simplistic nature. If you’re a fan of the genre (or simply curious), it’s certainly worth your while to try it out.

It's a great core game with a few mediocre elements surrounding it.

This is one of the few games released for the holiday buzz that seems to measure up to being a game, not an advertisement.

I know a lot of people will feel there are better uses for their new game system than a minigame collection, but I also know that many of these same people will be having a blast with their family playing Wii Sports during the holidays.

As an arcade space shooter, Xyanide doesn't break any new ground, but it is a solid entry that is fun. The flaws aren't enough to diminish an otherwise fun time with the original Xbox.

Easily is the best installment yet for the main series, bringing its style of arcade racing to PlayStation 3. While the suck is lackluster and there aren’t many new vehicles or tracks, it does offer intuitive new motion-sensitive controls and great online gameplay. Ridge Racer 7 doesn’t reinvent the wheel, but it definitely gives it a good spin.

Running the game smoothly without a good system is going to be hard, but at least you’ll be treated to some imaginative gameplay.
