The solid game mechanics and brilliant level designs make for a relatively good time, though the overall linear track that the game takes tends to drag the experience down a bit.

A good game, but it isn’t nearly as good as the original Deus Ex. While I feel the changes that were made only improved the quality of the game, the overall drop in length, the incredibly stupid AI and the slight graphic downgrade really hurt it in the end.

The controls are a bit unusual and take a bit of getting used to, the storyline is a bit on the dull side and the graphics are really, really dated and should be reconsidered at this point. However, the gameplay is still rock solid.

I don't doubt that the violence used in this game is used at least particularly for shock value – but what happens when batting someone’s head off becomes boring? Will Manhunt 2 feature the ability to rape a victim – will some other game in the immediate future? It’s a fair question.

I won’t deny that this game is the veritable oddball in the Final Fantasy family – the guy at the table with numerous facial tattoos and body piercings – with the rest of his family being straight laced and true to the expectations of society – but that is why I enjoyed it so much.
