The fast paced action, smooth gameplay and variety of units provide a much needed boost to the single player game play of the series. Even with some minor annoyances with the menus and on some loading screens the overall game makes up for it in spades, especially at a reasonable price tag on Steam.

PES 2012 is definitely a great game and deserves to be looked at by sports fans and soccer fans alike. Sure, the lack of an official FIFA license kind of sucks, but the solid visuals, good sound, and easy to pick up, but tough to master controls make this a virtual soccer game worth playing.

If you own a 360, you’d most likely be better off playing that version if you haven’t done so yet.

Street Fighter IV was already an amazing iOS game, and Volt just adds to that.

For this game to lift the championship trophy there is some fine tuning to be done in the gameplay and commentary areas.

Lock's Quest for the Nintendo DS combines the right amount of story and battle driven gameplay to satisfy most gamers.

I can't help but think if Rocksmith had come out years ago before any of the other music/rhythm games that use a virtual guitar it would probably be the premier guitar based video game. That being said, Rocksmith is quite a different game and can stand alone in its own genre, as there is nothing available on the market that competes with it. Ubisoft has hit the nail on the head with this innovative title.

All aspects from the presentation to the gameplay are packed full. Combine that level of detail with great gameplay, a ton of depth and wi-fi multiplayer options and, whether you're a fan of the Hot Shots series or new to it, you simply cannot go wrong, especially when it only costs $20.

Despite its flaws, The Oath in Felghana is the perfect game for the PSP. Enjoyable combat and dungeon crawling is its own reward.

Fans of the genre, old or new, should have little trouble getting into this old classic that should belong in any RPG lover’s PSP library.

For those diehard baseball fans who want to take their gaming on the road and lead their favorite team to the World Series, you can’t go wrong with MLB for the PSP.

That being said, if you are willing to stick with it, Wii Fit can make a great exercise tool for almost anyone.

The sound is fairly lackluster. But overall the game is rich and inviting, with a great storyline, lots of playable characters and an abundance of items for you to collect.

With great graphics, a more forgiving control scheme, great music and fantastic online play, videogaming snowboarders can't go wrong.

I'm very grateful that Square Enix decided to release the Director's Cut version of the game, and not the original (maybe I should thank the bugs for that?). Maybe now tri-Ace will get the respect it deserved since "Valkyrie Profile."

Phineas and Ferb for the Nintendo DS is a great family title that uses the stylus controls really well and adapts the television series accurately.

SmackDown vs. Raw 2009 sticks to what it should do best; provide a great wrestling experience for fans to play at home.

Kameo is exceptional and will entertain the whole family. The experience is awe-inspiring and is going to be a tough act for other adventure games to follow.

Metroid: Other M represents both a return to form for the Metroid series and an evolution of it at the same time. Save for the occasional directional hiccup, the hybrid first and third person viewpoints actually work very well. Combine this with the excellent narrative and well rounded gameplay and Metroid: Other M is a worthy purchase regardless if you're a casual or hardcore fan.

Still, the replay value is excellent, and the game is that good mix of simple to learn, but hard to master that will keep people coming back.

Quite simply Banjo Kazooie: Nuts and Bolts is not a renter, but a must buy in my eyes!

Empires at War is a poorly designed RTS that would have been laughed off the Gamestop shelves without its Star Wars skin.

For fans of the MLB game and Xbox 360 owners this is a must buy.

Considering this is EA Sports first crack at an MMA game, the overall results are good.

Dead or Alive Dimensions hits the 3DS in style. With great graphics, solid sound, and some stellar gameplay, including local or internet Wi-Fi multiplayer play, one cannot go wrong with this newest fighting game for Nintendo's new handheld gaming console. Players of all levels will no doubt have a great time with this game.

While the sound and storyline disappoint somewhat the addition of a pretty good online multiplayer component helps somewhat even though there should be more modes.

This is the future of driving games, folks. The environments go on forever, they are rich with detail and they are realistic. The sound effects are great and the music is good too.

Sure, the graphics and gameplay are not over the top, but this is classic Square...what is left to say.

If you own multiple consoles, there is no compelling reason to own this version of NHL 2K10 unless you are looking for some sort of novelty factor; however if you are a “one console owner”, then you can do no wrong by picking up this game as you can enjoy some of the gameplay aspects that this virtual hockey game has to offer.

I'll come right out and say it. The inclusion of Augusta and The Masters makes this an automatic purchase for golf fans on its own. EA Tiburon has painstakingly worked with Augusta National Golf Club to create an incredible representation of the course, the tournament and its storied history.

It isn't for everyone. But it is definitely a lot more user friendly than other examples of its genre, and, for the price, is potentially a good introduction to this sort of game.

Despite many new entries into the fitness genre, EA Active remains above its competition. EA Active 2 brings a host of new exercises to the mix, great new motion accessories that are more accurate, a very welcome heart rate monitor and robust online integration. The only drawback I find is that versions on other consoles take better advantage of newer motion technologies.

It has some of the best action-RPG gameplay you can find anywhere with a fantastic soundtrack, a lengthy adventure, tons of monsters to kill and lots of places to explore.

Aside from some minor issues, Driver: San Francisco is a good game with the potential to become even better thanks to what looks to be a solid offering of online game modes. The actual story in the game is a tad far-fetched but interesting enough to warrant attention. While there's more to do in single player than just the story, the extra events aren't all entirely unique.

This is a game that is definitely worth the purchase price and I think that it is a must have DLC title for the PlayStation 3.

This game has a little bit of everything for gamers who enjoy puzzles, fun combat and two player co-op pleasure. With so much excitement I can almost guarantee that you will love this game.

Aside for the difficult perceptive due to the lack of a better camera system, Aqua Aqua deserves more good points than bad.

Mirror’s Edge for the Xbox 360 is an enjoyable game and has several heart pounding moments scattered throughout its’ nine levels.

Overall, the puzzle gameplay is well-designed and it takes some strategy and a bit of mind flexing to get your Mini Marios going in the right direction.

In what could have been a disaster, Fuse Games has taken the Metroid name and applied it to a really great looking and great playing pinball game.

From the solid graphics and sound, enticing gameplay, to the great presentation, Ghostbusters fans should eat this up, and those not familiar with the movie should feel free to do so as well.

With just about everything you can expect from the series brought over onto the DS, this game features the high production values and classic JRPG gameplay coupled with the rewarding puzzles and unique Djinn battle system.

MLB 09: The Show continues a long run of consistently well done ball games for the PS2 but it still pales in comparison to the next-gen version.

The core of the 2K series lies in gameplay and 2K7 really excels in this department.

With fabulous graphics and great sound to match, Prey manages to put forth one hell of a gaming experience. However the short game time combined with a laggy and rather limited online features prevents this game from becoming one of the great titles of the year.

The game will be forever known as an arcade treasure in years to come with its stunning landscapes that will send many racers around the world to find and to drool over the cars they wish they could have.

Heavenly Sword is one heck of a ride, but unfortunately like a summer blockbuster it comes to an end way too quickly.

Unfortunately, Dragon Age II feels like a filler title to get from Dragon Age: Origins to Dragon Age III and to somewhat satisfy fans in the meantime.

With the many improvements made in Smackdown vs. Raw 2009 I feel that you will get what you expect and more from a wrestling game on the Wii.

Glowfish is beautiful and, more importantly, requires strategy to tackle the stronger enemies. Even while requiring some thought, Glowfish can easily be understood by a new gamer, providing a lot of fun for everyone.

Tiger Woods PGA Tour 11 offers some decent improvements over last year's game. It strikes a good balance of making the game a bit more realistic but still accessible for the more casual player.

The portability of this title increases the fun factor up a few notches, not to mention the online aspect of the game.

For those casual gamers, or families in their tweens and early teens, this game may just be what the doctor ordered allowing you to finally take the plunge into the music/band based game arena.

The game is a simulation/RPG monster that will fulfill any baseball fanatic's dream of playing in the minor leagues, big leagues, or just managing a team.

The multiplayer game, as with other 2K sports tittles, is pretty much a smooth and lag free experience online.

The music is amazing and sets the mood brilliantly, the gameplay is well thought out and effectively conveys the feeling of flight while keeping it fun enough for a video game.

Blue Dragon is a good RPG; it is just not a great one.

Tony Hawk's Proving Ground is another solid addition to the franchise and is the best Tony Hawk game on the DS to date.

Overall, even though there are some minor AI issues, the enhanced graphics, Wii-remote specific control features and the addition of online multiplayer madness makes this title a worthy addition to any Wii owner's library of games.

It is a great introduction to making music, especially on a portable handheld machine.

The real problem is that the game makes my brain sting. What I mean is there are so many plot twists, story fluctuations and paradoxes that I found the game almost like work rather than play.

Overall, Skylanders: Spyro's Adventure is one of the more innovative gaming experiences I have played on the Xbox 360 to date. Its cross-platforming abilities, slick looking toy figures, and enjoyable gameplay all make for a game which should not only please long time Spyro fans, but will surely satisfy the games younger target audience.

Another year, comes another Madden game. While this years version once again delivers, and certainly does the NFL proud, it is still however a Madden game. The core game remains the same and despite all the enhancements, Madden NFL 12 looks and feels very similar to last year's iteration. Hardcore fans will inevitably purchase the game, but for those fringe fans who already own Madden NFL 11 it is hard to recommend dropping another 60 bucks on a game that plays almost identical to last years. That being said, on its own Madden NFL 12 is a stunner and is an upgrade, albeit slight, over its predecessor.

The game offers an intriguing story which spices things up very well, but it does so without doing anything revolutionary.

Although you will have to read a lot of text, the story pulls you in and the plot has its fair share of twists and turns.

Despite all the neat game play elements offered in Prototype they just don’t manage to come together to form a truly compelling package that would put it amongst the elite games of today.

The refreshingly new approach to the game play in this one makes it among the best baseball games I’ve ever played!

This classic RPG has finally come to North America and will keep fans of the series and newcomers happy and busy for some time as they travel the Realms of Revelation.

This game takes all the best aspects of "SSX" and combines them with some Tony Hawk style gameplay to create a happy medium. While Cool Boarders 2001 can't hold a candle to "THPS," there is a very solid game here.

A faster framerate, new party modes and an improved play selection screen help this title remain heads and tails above the competition.

Guilty Party is an excellent game and boasts solid graphics along with some great voice work and sound effects, but to be forced to play Story Mode to unlock the much more entertaining Party Mode is a downer.

BlastWorks: Build, Trade, Destroy is a game that seems like a really simple shooter, but yet when you look at all the innovation behind it, such as absorbing your defeated enemies, you learn that this game is much more then it is.

On its own MLB 09: The Show is a great game and stands as the best baseball game on Sony's handheld machine. However, when compared to last year's version, MLB 09 feels awfully similar.

Toy Box mode really made Toy Story 3: The Game top notch and without it this title would have been another cash grab to get kids to buy movie games.

Lara Croft Tomb Raider: Anniversary for the PSP is an excellent compliment to the original classic and is fantastic port from the PS2.

New Play Control! Donkey Kong Jungle Beat is a solid Nintendo title that I would recommend to Donkey Kong fans and newcomers alike.

Overall, it's a bit of the same old with a few more bells and whistles.

The graphics are quite stunning and the sound does not disappoint. The storyline is engaging and the voices are superb and almost too realistic.

The cool thing about games like this is the never-ending factor – you drive around Springfield forever exploring all the ins and outs.

Hardcore RPG/strategy gamers should love Fire Emblem Radiant Dawn. Along with some stylized visuals the game has simple and streamlined gameplay including very basic control which really makes the game easy to pick up and play.

The extensive Pokedex and library reference guide are almost worth the price of admission alone. Add to that, the capability of the Transfer Pak to access Pokemon from the Game Boy versions and things really begin looking up.

THQ has done a pretty good job at brining the whole WWE experience home once again.

At the end of the day fans of 2D platform games and newbies alike should absolutely love Wario Land: Shake It!.

I suggest you get some chew and have some shine, then have a seat at your computer and throw up some dirt.

The great difficulty is a good challenge to the hardcore shooter fan, and the extras are well worth the effort.

Alice in Wonderland for the DS is a unique yet delightful game for Nintendo's dual-screened wonder.

I approached Top Spin 3 with open expectations and walked away rather impressed.

Overall, Ghost Recon Shadow Wars for the 3DS is one of the better Nintendo 3DS games available at launch. This turn-based Ubisoft experience is an enjoyable ride from beginning to end. While the pace of the game can take some getting used to, the results are satisfying and any fan of turn-based or Ghost Recon games will inevitably want to pick this one up if you are one of those 3DS early adopters.

Excitebots: Trick Racing is a fun and exciting racing game that provides quite an enjoyable experience with some added mini games and crazy stunts thrown into the mix.

The new challenges in this sequel are creative, addictive and pretty enjoyable and the addition of the multiplayer content is a great bonus.

As far as NBA Live 09 on the Xbox 360 is concerned it continues to fall short of being considered an elite basketball game.

Taking all the great game elements from the original board game and enhancing them and adding online play makes Risk: Factions a wonderful Xbox LIVE Arcade title.

Overall Bound in Blood is one of the best western shooters we have seen in sometime.

The graphics leave a little, well actually quite a lot to be desired, but with the addictive and entertaining gameplay and quality sound, you'll probably let that slide.

This game is based on a great idea but it suffers from poor execution. Gameplay counts and this one misses the mark big time in that respect, which is the reason for why I scored this game as I did. A real shame considering the pedigree of Sony exclusives. This one could have been so good.
