Aside from its painfully short single player campaign and “sometimes good, sometimes bad” controls, Star Fox Zero is a very fun game.

With beautiful graphics, simple and concise controls, and a decent array of weapons to choose from, Alienation only really falters from a tired plot and lack of character customization.

Melty Blood Actress Again Current Code should be a much better game than it is, as the base game is very solid. It’s disappointing to see a strong base and nothing supporting it.

Hitman Episode 2: Sapienza showcases all of what Hitman can be. It makes the first episode feel tepid in comparison as its open map and brilliant level design offer up a lot more opportunities and ways to execute them.

The Collider 2 is a twitchy reaction game that looks gorgeous and is a lot of fun to play. Collider 2 expands on the foundation laid by Collider while still fulfilling the motto of the game publisher’s name – Shortbreak.

Tables are designed well, being easy enough for casual pinball players but challenging at the same time to satisfy those who have played pinball games. It does tend to lean more towards the easier side, but not by much. Easy to play, creepy tone, and addictive gameplay all combine in this set, making it the perfect way to get your pinball fix and celebrate Alien Day.

If you enjoy twin-stick shooters, rogue-likes, or both, Good Robot is absolutely worth your time and money. It’s quirky and fun, with a dry sense of humour found in the news bulletins that had me laughing out loud whenever I stopped to shop. Do yourself a favour and at the very least, take a quick look at the trailer to see if this game is right for you.

If you are a competitive RTS player, I recommend you play Ashes of the Singularity and decide for yourself if it’s the game for you. There is certainly a lot to dig into for a hardcore player. However, if you are a more casual player, Ashes of the Singularity probably won’t engage you for long enough to learn the ins-and-outs of all the systems at play.

Eclipse isn’t going to bring Black Ops 3 owners who have stopped playing the game back into the online arena, but it’s certainly good enough to keep things moving until DLC number 3 drops.

    Koi
Koi’s simplistic approach is ultimately its downfall. The game offers little to no challenge, is fairly shallow and is way too short even by today’s standards. It feels like so much more could have been done with this game.

Cornerstone: The Song of Tyrim is very fresh and has the nostalgic essence of some of the best platformers from the 90’s. This game is a great way to introduce a new generation of gamer to the classic platformer style, but the lack of voice acting and frequent bugs make this a game better suited for the casual gamer.

While the single player affair is pretty lackluster, SpeedRunners is definitely a gem in terms of multiplayer. It’s a game that will get you to group up with buddies regularly, and one that will make you sweat due to how intense matches can get. It’s really a must buy if you enjoy platformers.

Accurate in its execution and complex in its politics, 1979 Revolution may have its flaws, but its faults do not overshadow its success of a nuanced portrayal of a history and its people.

ADR1FT is great for people who love combing through every possible nook in a game. It definitely rewards those who practice due diligence, but is a little empty for those looking for a little more gameplay.

LOUD on Planet X is an interesting concept, but it ultimately falls flat. The great soundtrack and cool art style is hampered by a lack of interactivity with the music, limited replayability and competitive spirit that other games in the genre have.

As enjoyable as a lot of the sections are, too much of the game focuses on the poor combat, and I found myself constantly wishing the next area was either another boss fight or a cool platforming section.

One could argue the mystery of the story is enough of a draw but in this gaming age, players expect certain things like being able to save at any point to be a standard option to them. As a first effort game from an indie studio, LKA is to be applauded for tackling such an ambitious project and telling a story that goes beyond the stock ones regularly used by games with far greater resources available to them.

If you enjoy roguelikes but want something you can play for half an hour at a time and actually see progress, I strongly recommend Leap of Fate. It has great value, an interesting story, and fun gameplay. If it had a multiplayer component so I could team up with a friend, I’d be giving it a nine out of ten for sure.

Bravely Second doesn’t change much from Bravely Default. There are small additions that only improve the already near-perfect gameplay, but the story gets off to an awful start, and takes a while to build up steam.

In the end, whether or not you enjoy Unepic will depend on whether or not you enjoy reference humour, and if your enjoyment of the exploration outweighs your frustration with the mediocre combat. Depending on which platform you’re buying it, the game costs anywhere between $9 and $15, so if Unepic sounds like something you’d be interested in, you may want to give it a try. Otherwise, this is one quest you’re better off skipping.

The supernatural and mystery aspect of it was enticing enough to continue playing, I just wish that the characters where more interesting or fleshed out (I’m talking about you, Chiharu!). All in all, I would recommend it if you like Visual Novels or anime and don’t mind playing an interactive story.
