The few hiccups of platforming hell are the only elements keeping Deadlight from being a good game to becoming a great game.

From the originality of the story, to the illustrative comic book panel scenes and exceptional graphics, Turn On is a fantastic casual platformer guaranteed to help pass a few hours of your day with a smile on your face.

It’s pretty tough, and incredibly satisfying when you get a good time on any level. If you’re new to the genre or don’t really like indie platformers, you may as well stay away.

I will say there was a lot of ambition for this game, but so much of the content is crippled by the cumbersome combat system.

I’m thoroughly enjoying playing this game and I appreciate being able to keep the level of difficulty at a setting I feel comfortable with before each mission, which can be adjusted or decreased if you so choose. I just wish they had a bit more to offer to offer in terms of objectives.

If you love tower defense and can ignore some of the game’s quirks, Hero Defense is worth picking up, but there are not enough unique features to recommend this to the broader PC player base.

If you enjoyed the original Postal, then you can enjoy it all over again with some updated visuals, sounds and some added content.

This game is made for score-obsessed fans of shoot em ups, and endless runners only.

Despite how peculiar it all may seem, all of the elements of Soft Body come together and make perfect sense while you are playing it.

For hardcore genre fans Raiden V might be worth a look, but there’s a pretty thin amount of content on tap here, especially considering the price.

Blood and Wine is a massive expansion, and with content strong enough to stand on its own two feet, realising it’s merely an addition to what is otherwise considered one of the best games ever is just a cherry on top.

It was a wonderful surprise to find out how good the game was and how quickly I became engrossed it. You really feel like a solitary stranger in a strange land. This one has tons of atmosphere.

It hit every note that it needed to and didn’t try to be something it wasn’t. Maybe that’s the secret to Kirby’s longevity. It knows what it is and what it shouldn’t try to be.

Minor issues aside, Kick & Fennick is a delight.

This is a title I encourage players new to RPG’s to dig into and deserves a spot in everyone’s library.

Even though Shadow Blade: Reload is fun to play, and the graphics are well done, there are some obvious flaws that detract from the enjoyability.

This game could have been a great jumping off point to bring new fans to the series. However, this game does nothing to establish the back story or relationship of the characters beyond touching on Luffy and his brother, Ace, leaving any player new to the series scratching their head.

All said, if I were dying (okay, yes, we’re all dying, but I mean in the more expedited sense), the last thing I would do is waste any time playing a game so frustrating.

Downwell personifies the ‘gameplay is king’ mantra and it backs up its approach with a perfect suite of controls that are predictable and consistent.

Marrakesh falters in its volume of storytelling and willingness to let the player in on what’s going on behind the scenes and in between episodes.

If you’re looking for some weekend entertainment and enjoy run and gun, first person shooter style games in a futuristic setting – at $15, you really can’t go wrong.

Goliath has an appealing premise and a promising goal, but in the end it doesn’t live up to its own expectations.

If you enjoy other rogue-likes or roguelites, there’s a very good chance you’ll enjoy Neon Chrome.

Demetrios – The BIG Cynical Adventure is a quirky point n’ click title with a perfect blend of smart, mature, and pop humour that tells a refreshingly new story without pushing itself into the realm of slapstick exaggeration for the sake of a gag.

Like all of Vanillaware’s titles, Odin Sphere oozes with quality and polish, and because of this HD re-release, this one’s had extra polish time.

Dead Island Definitive Collection is the best way to get these two flawed experiences, ones that are enjoyable despite some poor design choices. There’s still nothing quite like Dead Island’s analog combat, but the game’s poor structure can’t be saved with a graphical facelift.

Perhaps Lumo’s greatest asset is the surprisingly fun throwback to a genre of puzzle adventures that seem to be lost in time.

A charming little indie action platformer with a distinct retro feel. While the difficulty is greatly reduced this time around, the game remains as punishing and rage inducing as ever.
