It’s one of the hardest 2D platformers this side of "Viewtiful Joe" and while the game seems slightly short, it takes quite a while to play through it successfully.

The graphics are one of the best parts about the game. The backgrounds are absolutely gorgeous, and the animations have all been re-worked.

Sure, it could have been a bit better, but if you're looking for a fun action game that doesn't require a ton of thought, you'll have a good time with this.

Feels like "Castlevania Lite". It's got all of the story, the visual style, the whip, the weapons, and the enemies. What’s missing is the rich fulfilling satisfaction of the rest of the game – the RPG elements, the total depth that has been established since the PlayStation and Game Boy versions of the game.

Why is this version so much different than the Playstation 2 one? I understand there were different developers, but the games are so much different and the Playstation 2 version is so much better.

While Contra: Shattered Soldier is a short game, fans of the original will eat it up. It’s also a game for anyone looking for a challenge.

While the core of the game is pretty bland, the trick system is excellent.

This is a straight up card playing/building game.

One thing that Mace Griffin has going for it is its graphics. The real-time lighting on weapons and animations are just awesome.

A treat for fans of the original, but it won’t blow you away in any particular aspect.

The biggest and most important adjustment to the game is on the home run hitting. They are much fewer than in last year’s version and that is a huge plus.

A no-brainer for anyone that enjoys RPGS.
