    A true classic. The Souvalou moves at a somewhat glacial pace and the graphics are hopelessly flat, but besides those shortcomings it's still a phenomenal action game.

    Even today I can play Xevious and still be entertained, and that is something considering the game just hit its twenty-year age mark.

    The lack of power-ups and somewhat generic level design makes it pale in comparison to some other fine shooters on the NES ("Life Force" & "Guardian Legend" for example), but this was one of the first shooters on the system and it's still worth playing.

    A fun little time-waster with some interesting level mechanics let down by some seriously dodgy controls and mostly uninteresting combat. It is responsible for adding some of the best (and cutest) characters to the Super Smash Bros. series though (the aptly-named Ice Climbers), so I can't hate it too much.… Expand
