For Honor is a great example that Western developers can make some great innovative twists on a primarily Japanese-built genre. It’s so safe for AAA titles to resort to going action, open-world, or FPS, but this is a real risk that Ubisoft is taking on a brand new IP and I hope it pays off for them. This is the best combat system I’ve had the pleasure to experience since the death of character action games. I hope to see you on the battlefield, even if you fight for Valhalla or the Emperor.

System Shock is an upgraded classic with dated elements that needs quality of life improvements, yet despite everything is still a fun treat for immersive sim fans.

Metal Slug Tactics combines the fundamentals of a Turn-Based Strategy with the mechanics of the series’ Run & Gun action for one of the most fun strategy games I’ve played in a while.

R-Type Final 2 is a boon for hardcore fans of the franchise and lovers of Japanese shmups in general, especially on the Xbox platform, but should probably be avoided by gamers with short tempers or who are unwilling to learn through repeated failure.

Lone Echo II boldly crafts a stunning and near-perfect space sim, but repetition and lack of replay value aren't enough to pass on Oculus' last Rift exclusive.

SaGa Frontier 2 Remastered is an above-average remaster and a solid JRPG for both newcomers and fans of the series to dig into.

Arknights: Endfield combines fluid combat, elaborate factory building, and Death Stranding-esque building to create a gacha RPG like no other.

Dune: Awakening delivers one of the most intense and immersive survival experiences I’ve enjoyed in years.

Observer takes place and memories and turns them into frightening things, dragging the player into realms of terrifying visions that stir up a nameless fear.

Mobile Suit Gundam Extreme Vs. Maxiboost ON is a fantastic arena fighter that is sure to not only grab Gundam fans who are already in love with the franchise, but arcade players who are looking for that next addictive fighting experience.

GrimGrimoire OnceMore is a visually gorgeous title with tight real time strategy gameplay, come for the strategy and a stay for the clever story.

Assassin’s Creed Nexus manages to successfully pull off a fully-fledged VR game set around its fast-moving traversal mechanics with minimal motion sickness. They have, in a way, set a new standard for comfort options.

While Metroid Prime 4: Beyond is incredibly fun as a straightforward shooter, its more guided nature and excessive handholding may deter hardcore fans of the series and genre.

Gori: Cuddly Carnage was an indie game that meow-ed its way to the top despite its technical frustrations.

Invincible VS blends the best parts of Marvel vs. Capcom, Mortal Kombat, Injustice and Killer Instinct into a wildly fun, gory 3v3 tag fighter that feels built for Invincible fans, newcomers, lapsed players and FGC pros alike.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens gives you everything you expect from a LEGO game, for better or worse.

Unravel puts all its cards on being cute and charming while having repetitive, lackluster gameplay. If you're looking for a very casual cute game, you might forgive its shortcomings

If you're hankering for a Metroidvania on the Nintendo Switch, Blaster Master Zero is it for the time being. Luckily, it is one of the better ones.

If you're looking for an adorable game with tight platforming, a unique lighting mechanic, fantastic graphics and level design then Candleman if for you.

Outriders Worldslayer is a great time for fans of the base game with a dedicated squad of friends to play with, but players looking for a single player experience, or something more than ‘just Outriders’ will have a rough time.

Sonic Origins is a definitive anniversary title that delivers everything I want from a series’ remaster. While a few more customization options and restored songs would’ve put it over the top, technical updates polish these four emeralds for a new generation.

Days Gone Remastered brings the dead to life on PlayStation 5 Pro without compromising image quality for performance on top of a brand new Horde Assault game mode and all of the base games DLC.

Not Tonight: One Love elevates the game to ridiculous heights, which makes it absolutely worth picking up.
