A game that tries to merge three genres but is too primitive and not varied enough to keep the player’s attention. [09/2015, p.47]

Please don’t just look at the score and “meh” Splatoon, because this online shooter is the best thing that happened to Wii U in a long time. It just needs some major updates, because on arrival it’s just 75% of The Game of the Year. [09/2015, p.46]

If you already have the previous edition of PayDay 2 (especially the PC version), you might see the Crimewave Edition as a robbery in broad daylight. If you don’t – it’s the best “robber simulator” there is. [09/2015, p.45]

Team17 did not promise much with this so called “remaster” (higher resolutions, controller support, achievements and improved audio) but still failed to deliver. Menus are in 640 x 480 stretched to fit whatever screen you have, Full HD during matches causes everything to be smaller, not more detailed, the game can’t keep the promised 60 fps and netcode is laughable. The fact that the Photo Mode is one of the emphasized features tells everything about how necessary this remaster was and how much effort was put into it. Yes, the textures are sharper, the lighting is better, but the difference is not breathtaking, because the game was already stunningly beautiful before. It’s not how I imagined Kratos’ assault on PS4. So why such a high score? Five years later it’s still an exceptional game and I envy everyone who is to experience this grand adventure for the first time. [09/2015, p.43]

DMC4SE does not improve the gameplay as much as DmC: Definitive Edition did, it does not offer the spectacle God of War is famous for, but I assure you that in no other game building combos is so much fun. [09/2015, p.42]

Galactic Civilizations III lacks the magic of its outstanding predecessor. The developers promise that it’s just a beginning, that new content is on the way, but right now you’ll be better off playing Sid Meier’s Starships. [08/2015, p.77]

It’s a port of a mobile game so in terms of visuals and innovation it can’t be compared with roguelikes built specifically for PCs (e.g. Darkest Dungeon) but I love Pixel Dungeon for its simplicity and surprising depth underneath it. [08/2015, p.75]

There’s absolutely nothing in Wander that could persuade me to revisit its servers. There’s no combat, no quests and experience points, no puzzles or any other challenges, no crafting. Just you and a totally dead world to explore aimlessly. [08/2015, p.74]

When the first shock of butchering helpless people passes it turns out that this forbidden fruit is nothing but a seed. I could point out that it’s a good thing that Hatred depicts murdering innocents as a boring, laborious, frustrating chore but after having played it I’m in no mood for jokes. [08/2015, p.70]

Lords of Xulima is ugly, some of its elements are too simplistic and the story is poor but you rarely find an RPG that tests you intellect to such a degree, making you count every coin you spend, thoroughly examine every piece of equipment, keep track of food supply, endlessly tackle puzzles, carefully manage characters’ stats, look for alternate routes and find out how to beat different monsters.
