Excellent career mode, tons of additional challenges and fast gameplay. Codemasters did great this year, but I would appreciate including more F1 legends. [11/2017, p.75]- CD-Action

The developers of Aztez had great inspirations and clearly understand what made them great, but that was not enough for Aztez itself to become great. The game is really solid in terms of gameplay mechanics but at the same time derivative and repetitive. I can only recommend it wholeheartedly to those who enjoy exploring and cracking open complex combat systems. [11/2017, p.74]- CD-Action

Hands down the most original (in terms of setting, at least) first-person shooter of 2017. Slaughtering microbes inside a human stomach or liver is fun, but numerous bugs and repetitiveness in terms of enemies and gameplay itself made it impossible for me to thoroughly enjoy the game. A brilliant idea for a simple, procedurally generated strategy game, held back by repetitiveness. [11/2017, p.71]- CD-Action

A window into the weird era of FMV games, a rich fountain of charming kitsch and a chance to experience the game which inspired the creation of ESRB, therefore changing the landscape of electronic entertainment. [11/2017, p.70]- CD-Action

A charming, well-designed puzzle game that you will probably forget minutes after you quit it. [11/2017, p.68]- CD-Action

Campaign consists of scripted battles for two players tops, fought against moderately bright bots on well-known maps. It really doesn’t offer much more than previous training missions. War Stories are simply a terrible waste of time. [11/2017, p.67]- CD-Action

A great hybrid of a puzzle game and a shooter that comes with wonderful visuals and a couch co-op, but gets repetitive by the end and sometimes annoyed me with uneven difficulty level. [11/2017, p.66]- CD-Action

Darkwood’s developers have an expert grasp of what terror is, where it lurks and how to frighten the player to make him come back for more. They couldn’t decide whether they’re making a story-driven game or a sandbox, but their effort is still worth recommending to everyone who enjoys good horrors. [11/2017, p.64]- CD-Action

The first episode is really good (in some aspects even better than the original Life Is Strange!) and despite being rather short (ca. 3 hours) full of positive surprises. [11/2017, p.62]- CD-Action

The Lost Legacy is a great, breathtakingly beautiful action adventure game and its only substantial weakness is that it fails to reach the stellar level of A Thief’s End while heavily relying on old tricks. [11/2017, p.60]- CD-Action

A simple and quite enjoyable tactical game perfect for short sessions. It could have squeezed much, much more out of the Wild West setting though. [11/2017, p.58]- CD-Action

Apart from brilliant, genuinely funny dialogues West of Loathing’s biggest strength is its simple but satisfying turned-based combat. [11/2017, p.53]- CD-Action

Player’s impact is limited in Miitopia, as you rather watch the gameplay than participate in it. Despite that the game is never dull, just like similar Tomodachi Life a couple of years ago. The difference is that Tomodachi Life was genuinely funny in an absurd way, whereas Miitopia often made me smile but never caused a burst of laughter. [11/2017, p.52]- CD-Action

Yakuza Kiwami is so much more than just a remake of the first game in the series. Sega rebuilt the original from scratch using a much more powerful engine, with the help of completely new artists, and enriched the script with tons of references to subsequent Yakuza releases. It’s not a perfect game but it does a great job at tying up loose ends from Yakuza Zero. [11/2017, p.50]- CD-Action

The game, heavily inspired by Steve Wilson’s “Drive Home” music video, deals with feelings we all experience at some point – grief and helplessness after losing a loved one. It does a great job for most of the time but stumbles at the very end, as the last 15 or so minutes are unnecessarily bloated and unbearably metaphysical. [11/2017, p.49]- CD-Action

Ubisoft acquired Nintendo’s license, added some Rabbids in the mix and entrusted the game to its Italian studio that never developed any large game on its own. What’s more, neither the studio nor both IPs had anything to do with tactical games. I still don’t understand how Kingdom Battle turned out so good. [11/2017, p.46]- CD-Action

By combining a unique method of connecting players, complex character creation and development, and solid combat mechanics, Absolver delivers something that no traditional fighting games can offer. What it lacks is variety. [11/2017, p.45]- CD-Action

War of the Chosen introduces tons of new mechanics along with various improvements. It refreshes the original game so thoroughly that the campaign is truly worth replaying and the whole package deserves to be called XCOM 2.5. [11/2017, p.36]- CD-Action

Without a doubt it’s one of the most original shooters ever created, but I must warn you that if you don’t get hooked on challenges, you’ll be done with the game in about 3 hours, because it’s how long the campaign takes. [10/2017, p.72]- CD-Action
