I enjoyed the atmosphere, assassination-based combat, enjoyable bow shooting mechanics, varied character classes, and cool maps. The whole concept is great, but Hood needed more work, because numerous minor flaws and a sole game mode make it look like an early access title. I also believe it was possible to squeeze much more out of this darker twist on the Robin Hood setting. It is not an excellent game right now, but it is enjoyable enough to be addictive, and I’m looking forward to future updates, hoping they will unlock Hood’s full potential. [08/2021, p.76]

It’s definitely a great opportunity to get acquainted with The Settlers, if you haven’t had the pleasure yet. TSHC’s main feature is the ability to run all games on Windows 10 effortlessly, but there are also some other improvements, including widescreen support and multiplayer via Uplay. The score I gave is rather low, because after all these years I did not enjoy all the included games and you can separately buy the ones you’re interested in. [01/2019, p.60]

Destruction AllStars is flashy, fast and enjoyable, looks good and runs smoothly, but severely lacks varied, engaging content and therefore quickly becomes boring. [04/2021, p.44]

Thanks to its Warhammer 40,000 setting you won't confuse Necromunda with any other FPS and the design and scale of the environments are impressive. For a simple, old-school shooter, it also offers surprisingly deep and fun character development and weapon customization options. It’s a game of contrasts though, and I can't hide my disappointment with terrible enemy AI, mediocre bonus missions, poor character models, rough animations, crude visuals, and god-awful equipment screen. There are some outstanding stealth games like Metal Gear Solid 2. There are some very good ones like Deus Ex: Human Revolution. There are some decent ones like the new Thief. There are some weak ones like The Dark. And then there’s Neon Struck. [07/2015, p.65]

It’s not the new Generations (that we’re all waiting for), but faithful fans of the series should be moderately happy with it if they can endure a subpar level design. [12/2016, p.77]

I had an impression that the developers were not sure what game they’re making. As a result their jumble of (sometimes good) ideas turned out to be a safe and tasteless mush – you will neither get excited while fighting off pirates, nor relax while fishing. [10/2018, p.85]

Extreme off-road racing in the vein of early Dirt games, with impressively diverse scenery, surprisingly wide range of licensed cars and disappointingly poor audio. [05/2018, p.49]

Although obviously not a high-budget title, Resistance is probably the best Terminator game I’ve ever played. Gunplay is fun, there’s a lot of gear to use and upgrade, you can unlock new skills, and stealth elements make the whole experience pretty varied. The graphics are rather basic though (the PS5 upgrade with 4K resolution makes little difference) and I ran across some sound issues, but in general, I had fun. [08/2021, p.45]

    Dex
Dex really surprised me. Under its modest externals I found a decent, complex RPG game incorporating everything that makes cyberpunk an attractive setting. [08/2015, p.56]

Concord is a bland, personality-less hero shooter that was a good few years late to the party, yet failed to build on the achievements of its predecessors and insisted on doing everything its own way, with very poor results.

I’m glad Cawthon is looking for a new direction for FNAF, but Sister Location has a poorly outlined story, its gameplay is not all that engaging and additionally it lacks tension present in previous games. [13/2016, p.68]

Retrofuturistic, totalitarian world created by Compulsion Games is fascinating, as we see bits and pieces of Kafka (a clerk rebelling against the system), Clockwork Orange (extreme violence), Douglas Adams (humor) or Half-Life (architecture) floating around. What failed is the execution, which turned We Happy Few into an unintentional parody of stealth games. The enemy AI is so lame that I repeatedly had an impression of starring in a lost episode of The Benny Hill Show, especially since the combat system is crude and production values leave a lot to be desired. Unto the End is a minimalistic, very intense and ultimately exhausting adventure that requires patience. Enemies are always faster than our sluggish hero and almost always unpredictable, so even a lone foe can pose a challenge, while a stronger one will kill you with one strike. Not all encounters seemed fair, by the way. [03/2021, p.45]

Before I wrote this review, I spent 30 hours with Back in Action and I don't even know when this time flew by. I regret that the remake is not as complex and deep as the original game by Sir-Tech but some things are just gone and will never return. [April 2012, p.64]

I’m not surprised Sims fans are upset with this pack, as it was released in a truly abysmal state. Tartosa might be the most beautiful area in the whole game, but the expansion is almost unplayable, as many of its elements are either disappointing or simply broken.
