In many aspects Valhalla resembles most of Ubisoft’s games, but fortunately progression feels a lot more natural this time around. The game’s not perfect but I had lots of fun conquering new territories, plundering churches, and pillaging coastal villages while following a mature story and enjoying gorgeous, believable medieval Britain. Anyone who dreamed of exploring Skyrim on the go or during prolonged toilet sessions, will instantly forgive a slight downgrade needed to ensure fluidity (the game almost always runs at 30 fps). Apart from some visual trade-offs and a bit of exclusive Nintendo content (e.g. Link’s outfit) it’s the same game you know and possibly love. [01/2018, p.50]- CD-Action

Like a Dragon is the eighth installment of Yakuza, but a new protagonist makes it a great opportunity to get acquainted with the franchise. Even though the new turn-based combat system may become tedious at some point and I was disappointed with the lack of thrilling boss battles, it’s one of the best games in the series. Ichiban Kasuga and his friends are a really awesome bunch and I very much enjoyed experiencing Yokohama through their eyes. [01/2021, p.70]- CD-Action

I liked almost everything about this outstanding roguelike – the atmosphere, the wonderful visuals, the unbelievably exciting combat, the unforgettable narrator, the challenge it poses, the uncommon replay value. [03/2016, p.52]- CD-Action

An illegitimate child of Binding of Isaac and Nuclear Throne – a wonderfully animated twin-stick shooter with randomly generated world, vast choice of weapons and pixel graphics. It’s a shame it didn’t inherit Isaac’s atmosphere and Nuclear Throne’s pace. [06/2016, p.44]- CD-Action

Thumper’s oppressive atmosphere is amazing. Soundtrack, abstract visuals, breathtaking speed and palpable collisions build tension you would never expect from a runner/rhythm game. It’s a very interesting experience, but every time I removed PS VR after playing Thumper, I was completely worn-out by this intense, perpetual assault on my senses. [13/2016, p.77]- CD-Action

Conversations with your comrades are more meaningful and have a stronger emotional charge than combat or solving problems. Citadel is a great way to bid Commander Shepard good-bye. [CD-Action 06/2013, p.58]- CD-Action

The 2020 edition is as engrossing as always... but also as irritating as never before – in part because of the quite appalling match engine. [01/2020, p.46]- CD-Action

An awesome, extremely trippy game of a kind we rarely see these days. The speeds are so great here that you need to achieve total unity with the game to avoid obstacles. [08/2017, p.71]- CD-Action

It’s much more friendly towards newcomers than the arcade classics and yet it doesn’t put off the veterans of the genre. A sequel worth of its predecessors. [07/2020, p.76]- CD-Action

The Lost Legacy is a great, breathtakingly beautiful action adventure game and its only substantial weakness is that it fails to reach the stellar level of A Thief’s End while heavily relying on old tricks. [11/2017, p.60]- CD-Action

A very well done fighting game – nuanced and demanding, but also fun in simple instances of waving some big swords around. [13/2018, p.70]- CD-Action

Griftlands’ middling, insubstantial story and dull dialogues draw attention away from the game’s undeniable strengths: excellent negotiation mechanics and a pretty good combat system. [09/2021, p.42]- CD-Action

From the very first seconds of the introductory cut-scene, from the very first notes of the soundtrack HLD sucked me into its masterfully crafted world, alternately engaging me with its intensity and soothing my nerves. Hyper Light Drifter is an instant classic. [06/2016, p.58]- CD-Action

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge might not be the most remarkable beat ‘em up ever made, but it was developed by people who understand and love the genre, and therefore it is immensely enjoyable. And, of course, the Turtles-induced nostalgia rolled over me like a tsunami.- CD-Action

Avalanche Software made us wait a long time for the effects of their efforts, but today I can only take my hat off to the team behind the game and admit it was worth it. Hogwarts Legacy is not just an amazing gift for Harry Potter fans, but above all an excellent action RPG that provides many hours of fun. It brilliantly fulfills a child’s dream of a journey to the world of magic, for which the credit goes primarily to the gameplay and world designers, because what the writers delivered is sadly no better than fan fiction.- CD-Action

Similarly to Resident Evil 4 back in the day, Village will attract a new generation of players and redefine the franchise for the modern age. I guess it’s time to stop looking back and counting on the series to return to its roots. Capcom is well aware of those roots and willingly draws from them to create something new but still infused with Resident Evil’s spirit. Village is not perfect, but neither was RE4, and once again it’s easy to turn a blind eye to the flaws, because overall it’s an amazing game. [07/2021, p.56]- CD-Action

Vessel of Hatred is better than the basic Diablo IV. The game has been overhauled in many aspects, making gameplay more rhytmic and dynamic. However, there are still some elements that need polishing, and Blizzard – aware that most people play alone – introduces mandatory multiplayer.- CD-Action

We got used to developers promising huge worlds to explore, but there’s no other game where the world is so overwhelmingly vast. I honestly don’t know how much time you have to invest in Xenoblade Chronicles X to see everything this game has to offer. [02/2016, p.60]- CD-Action

The developers decided not to tamper with core gameplay and most of the additions they introduced feel forced and water down the experience instead of enhancing it. It’s a solid platformer but it failed to surpass the original Guacamelee! [11/2018, p.84]- CD-Action

Requiring creativity and spatial imagination, this puzzle game draws you in from the very first minutes. If only it told its story better and dared to be more difficult and bolder, it would be nearly perfect.- CD-Action

I parted with Soma with the same feeling that came over me while I was watching “Matrix”, “Interstellar” or “Inception”. Once again someone came up with something no one thought of before and took me for an amazing ride into the unknown. [12/2015, p.40]- CD-Action
