It might not be up to the standards of some of the RTS classics like Starcraft or Age of Empires, but there’s a surprisingly decent, intuitive and challenging game hidden away there.

Deathsmiles is a very fun but short game.

As much as I enjoyed the first game, the sequel just packs even more of a punch and is an even better experience for your money. If you’re looking for something challenging to play on the go, or in short bursts, then this is definitely the game for you.

E.T. Armies on the one hand should be applauded, not just for being one of the first games to be exported from Iran but for also for presenting us with a perfectly playable first-person shooter. The hammy dialogue, cliched character tropes and general familiar feel of the gameplay is easy to overlook thanks to some impressive run-and-gun action. However for anyone who is a veteran of the genre, some control issues, repetitive game design and a barren wasteland of a multiplayer mode will have you running back to Call of Duty before you’ve even come close to finishing the campaign.

Ska Studios deserves not to be overshadowed by From Software’s legacy, instead the team should be praised for delivering a stunning game in its own right.

A joy to play. If you are a fan of old school side scrolling platformers like Metroid and even Aladdin, then you will definitely enjoy Shantae. Everything from its graphics to its difficulty is straight from the 90s, but luckily for us brought into the future.

The simple arcade gameplay is addictive & fun but the lack of variety, lack of available multi-player (currently) & visual bugs hurt the overall package.

Overall, there isn’t much going on in Sheltered, other than it being a not-so-straightforward survival simulator/resource management game. Sheltered doesn’t have much else to offer in terms of gameplay.

SwapQuest overall is a success, albeit a pint-sized one. It effectively fuses two unlikely genres into a unique and engaging experience.

When a beat ’em up ignores the basic rules of the genre, and then presents the game in the poorest fashion, it makes it impossible to recommend in any way. Especially on a console that’s home to Super Smash Bros.

Smooth performance, excellent sound and masterful gameplay mechanics. The only thing that could push this title to a perfect 10/10 would be additional content, such as more enemy types or technique pickups. If you love throwing knives at things and dying as much as I do, you belong with us down here in the abyssal depths of Devil Daggers.

a game that had a lot of potential, and while it doesn’t quite live up to all of it, it’s still a very intricate, detailed attempt at bringing to life one of the biggest battles of that period.

Mind Zero on Steam is a rather poor port of an unpolished dungeon crawler. The initial game had promise, but ultimately fell flat with gameplay that is underwhelming and often tedious. But, even so, there is fun to be had if you’re a fan of dungeon crawlers, or even of RPG’s set in present-day Japan. The story is genuinely entertaining, with characters that are fun to interact with. The soundtrack is fantastic, and really sets the mood, too.

The gameplay is sluggish on heavily populated arena’s, the music and voice overs feel like they are harassing you towards the end and the maps and ships just feel really repetitive.

If you grew up playing Q*bert, the Rebooted package is both a revitalization of a formula that you already enjoy, as well as a nostalgic trip down a colorful and snake-infested memory lane. For everyone else, however, it doesn’t have the lasting appeal of a contemporary puzzler.

I score this game [70] for bringing back memory’s, being an enjoyable fighting game with hours of online potential, just a shame I couldn’t play as some of the original characters on release.

This is another thing that will put people off giving it ago if you can see past the needless loss of clothes and take humour in it you would enjoy what Senran Kagura Estival versus has to offer. A quick fighting beat em up which takes dynasty warriors and dead or alive and mixes them into an anime fighting game with boobs, lots and lots of boobs and if that isn’t your thing this really isn’t going to be for you.

Sparkle 2 is not a game that is going to keep you entertained forever, but as a stand alone puzzle game it’s a great time filler amongst the other titles that you may be wanting to play.

This is a decent game that has clearly taken a lot of inspiration from Hotline Miami in terms of design and gameplay. It does offer some unique ideas, like the ability to switch between characters and I also really enjoyed the moments that changed things up a bit.

There’s more than enough fun and excitement to keep you entertained, and had it not been for throat slitting rabbits, it would have been a fantastic family game. Unfortunately it is lacking a little longevity, with unlocks coming fast even without coin multipliers, and little variation in actual gameplay apart from the extra paid cosmetic packs. But for £3.99 you can’t complain at a 5 hour game.

If you don’t have much experience with this genre then this is a great place to start. I loved almost every aspect of the game and if I had the time I’d probably play for the platinum trophy. I highly recommend this one and can happily endorse the price.

A fine twin-stick shooter that’s best enjoyed in short bursts. The game is pretty lengthy, but the sameness of most of the missions starts to wear thin, especially if you don’t play on the hardest difficulty level in the latter half.

The presentation of Punch Club is great, with 16-bit like graphics, nostalgic references and chip-tune soundtrack. The colour palette used is vibrant and suits the game perfectly. The first time I reviewed the game I said that the story was a bit empty but the DLC has certainly added a bit more depth and variation, which is nice to see. It will be interesting to see if the game has any more content planned for the future. I would recommend this game and with the new DLC it gives even more reasons a new feature that make it worth checking out.
