Need For Speed is definitely a step in the right direction for the series, at least. With genuinely intelligent AI and the removal of rubber banding, as well as a cleaner lens, the next game from Ghost could well restore Need For Speed to its former glory. At the moment however, it is still unable to catch up to a game released two generations ago.

It takes the more addictive elements from popular puzzle franchises and combines them with finesse.

One thing I really like is the music in the level selector, it sounds weird at first but after some time I started to enjoy the tunes this game was blasting into my ears.

The game can get incredibly challenging, but that only makes the experience even more rewarding. The game has a unique art style, that works really well. I would certainly recommend this game if you want something you can play for long sessions, or short bursts, and offers a challenge.

Battleships has both a solo campaign and multi-player option. Although the multi-player option works well, we found we were too busy with the AI controlled missions and their various challenges. How often can you say that about a game that has both single and multi-player modes?

I hold Trillion in high regard. From the art to the music to the characters to gameplay, I enjoyed my time with it. While it’s certainly not high budget, offering some bland, yet fitting and serene songs, awkward character models and animations, it carries the spirit of oldschool JRPGs and their sense of growth.

Overall Sword Art Online Re: Hollow Fragment is a game for true anime fans. For those looking for a traditional RPG, I suggest watching the first part of season one of the series before diving into this game as it will make more sense.

A great title that remains true to the source material, and one that fans of both the Escapists and the Walking Dead will love. Whether the daily grind of washing dirty clothes and working out in the gym will be for everyone else is another question, but this unusual and unique take on one of TV’s bests is at the very least a fun and challenging RPG.

Party Hard is not a bad game by any means, but it’s just not a particularly fun one. Without that addictive ‘one more go’ feeling that other games of its ilk employ so effectively, Party Hard becomes much more of a chore than a game about murdering a drunken party should.

Sparkle 2 is not a game that is going to keep you entertained forever, but as a stand alone puzzle game it’s a great time filler amongst the other titles that you may be wanting to play.

An average game to play. It has its moments of brief fun, usually with friends but its repetitive nature means it does become boring a little too quickly. Not to mention the lack of online play which seriously limits the game potential. However, for the price that it is and the game time you’ll get out of it, it’s certainly not something that can simply be overlooked.

I think it’s an ideal game for younger audiences and the more casual players. With its extremely modest price tag of only £3.49 I think it’s worth giving a try.

Lifeless characters and generic planets feel disconnected from the Metroid universe with only really combat reeling it back in.

There are some mild laughs and interesting puzzles, also the retro feel is nice if a little simple but the gameplay is bland and repetitive.

A valiant effort for a small indie company. Despite the simple gameplay, the novel graphic styles and various homages to classic games were enough to keep me interested until the end.

Even with intergalactic, hyper speed travel feeling like rush hour on the highway at times, Rebel Galaxy has plenty to celebrate.

It’s hardly the spiritual successor to Jonah Lomu Rugby that we have all been (patiently) waiting for, but despite its issues and its relatively budget presentation, Tru Blu Entertainment’s, Rugby Challenge 3 stands comfortably as the best virtual recreation of the sport this generation and a perfectly enjoyable rugby video game in its own right.

Despite its mild pacing issues and occasional technical glitches, Game of Thrones is a wonderful representation of the gruesome HBO series and captures the harsh, unforgiving nature of the show that continues to shock all of us. It’s reinstated the GOT mottos: ‘there is no such thing as a happy ending’, and, ‘don’t get too attached to characters…because they’ll probably die…horribly’.

A fantastic game, one that’s criminally underrated and will go unnoticed or berated for its ‘awful’ visuals and gameplay. Whatever they may say, the game is a blast to play, and helped alleviate the tedium of the recent releases. Not every game has to have an amazing story, they just have to be a good and fun game.

I personally had fun with it and was impressed with the overall presentation, however the repetitive gameplay leads me to feel that it is still quite overpriced.

A fantastic narrative experience condensed within an hour. The story tackles adulthood, disability, family obligation and depression and crafts them into a real, believable experience. Good luck driving home.

The Delusions of Von Sottendorff and his Square Mind is a solid puzzle game at its heart and one which I do recommend that people look into picking up if you’re looking for a new puzzle experience. It’ll have you working your mind multiple times throughout the course of the game as you attempt to progress the levels, however for me it is just a little slow to thoroughly grab me.

I wouldn’t have expected that I would enjoy this game quite as much as I did, but I have to say, it was probably one of the best games of it’s type that I’ve ever played, not to mention that it’s absolute proof that with a little bit of TLC, even a fairly old game can be re done and still manage to look, feel and play better than a lot of recent games.

There is fun to be had with Ninja Senki DX and the inclusion of additional game modes adds a lot of replay value for those who enjoy it. However due to the repetitive nature it’s a game I can only really enjoy in short bursts.

Never quite reaches the heights of its inspiration. It does look fantastic and its unique form of action is something to behold in the hands of a master player (not mine, unfortunately), but all those minor issues do add up, including a few framerate drops in certain areas. Iola’s adventure is still worth your time, but it’s not quite the great game it could have been.

Retailing at £18.99 / $25, P.O.L.L.E.N. just doesn’t seem to offer enough content or mechanical diversity to justify a full-price purchase. Like a valuable trinket, it’s polished and pretty to look at, but doesn’t represent anything that hasn’t been done before.

If you’re new to runners, maybe start with a cheap or free phone app like Temple Run, but if you’re a gamer who enjoys the fun of a runner, it’s definitely worth buying.

SwapQuest overall is a success, albeit a pint-sized one. It effectively fuses two unlikely genres into a unique and engaging experience.
