Unfortunately what you get at the end of the day here, despite it's 'Wacky' tag is an extremely average mini game compilation.

It’s still strangely alluring, enough so that even after completion (which only took seven hours) I went straight back and played the first two levels all over again.

Buy this game. It's as simple as that. It's a masterpiece of design from concept to execution and is my game of the year so far.

Regardless of how many awards it wins though, it’s a fantastic representation of the sport.

The on-going appeal of NHL10's stats and progression system is something 2K10 simply cannot match, and couple that with the poor controls and slow pacing and you've got no decision on where your money should land.

It’s not groundbreaking in any way, but what it does offer is a solid MMORPG that can be just as engaging as the likes of WOW and yet is completely free. This game has quashed the age old myth that free games lack quality.

At the end of the day you get a pretty good game here, as mentioned it's an adaptation on Nintendo's classic Zelda series with a ninja theme, albeit a little dumbed down, but it's fun while it lasts.

This is a brave, thrilling and fun-packed game that sets out to entertain us with recreations of daring do from the last century. It really achieves those aims, but in also doing so while giving us a say in how we play it, it makes the game all the greater.

I really enjoyed playing Dirt 2. It breaks my heart really to give it a low overall score, but you just can't expect people to pay high prices for very little content. In these hard economic times value for money is as important as gameplay.

With a dark and sombre atmosphere, multi-layered, fluid and ferocious combat and deeply engaging stealth, Batman: Arkham Asylum is the game Batman fans have been waiting for, and more. It's simply a fantastically told, superbly acted and brilliantly realised action adventure.

Ultimately, it is a relief for me, as a huge fan of the series, a little disappointed by Escape From Monkey Island to see it back to its full strength, and not being milked with sub standard entries just for the cash.

Wolfenstein is not going to set the world on fire with anything new but what it has done is reaffirm my faith in the fact that old ideas can still be brought up to speed and used to create a fun experience that is well worth the money spent on it.

If your nerves are shot to pieces with the glut of zombie gore 'em ups out there Osmos will do a sterling job of rubbing those aching temples and making the nightmares go away.

I loved Still Life. It wasn't perfect but it was enjoyable for me at least. Still Life 2 could have been so much more. It had potential but is bogged down with so many unruly issues I find it hard to recommend to any but the staunchest and most patient of point'n'click adventure fans.

The war waging is brilliant, but diplomacy, speed, user interface etc robs the game of a better score.

SingStar Queen is a superb addition to the franchise. Ironically it’s not for the die hard fans, since they’ve already bought most of the songs from the SingStore, but for those fans that haven’t got Queen songs yet, it’s an absolute must buy.

At the end of the day this is just another lacklustre movie tie in really, it had some good ideas badly executed, but if you are a fan of the movie you may get a few hours enjoyment out of it.

It’s not the best DLC pack released for Fallout 3, but it’s certainly not bad.

To be honest this is pretty much a no brainer if you like Wii Sports, and that's most people really, the selection of sports is nice and varied, as are the methods of playing.

It offers no challenge for the solo player and is unplayable online, even after the hefty patch. If it wasn’t already hard enough for KoF to compete with Street Fighter, this release has made it even more difficult for it to do so in the future.

Madballs in... Babo: Invasion isn't going to blow anyone away. The name is fairly ridiculous and the whole Madballs fad is long-gone, but there beats an enjoyable shooter underneath the bland, uninspired exterior.

There's plenty of potential in the Officers franchise. Few games manage to capture WW2 this well at the tactical level. But a few problems with friendly AI and stability do drag the score down somewhat.

The main gripe of Battlefield 1943, however, is its staying power, considering just how shelled-out it is in comparison to previous entries in the series. It's quite superb in small doses, but with only two game modes, one of which has only one map, and both of which are only minutely customisable, there's no chance of losing a day to it.

There is nothing good to say about this game. I imagine it was pretty poor on the PSP, and it’s even worse with shoddy Wii controls added.

Irregular, often frustrating, boring, not technical enough for simulation addicts, not fun or crazy enough for arcade lovers, despite a few positive aspects The BIGS 2 gives off a lukewarm feeling by taking a middle-of-the-road approach.

It's a shame that ArmA II has suffered the same problems as its predecessors.

The control system can be labeled as interesting (sweeping the mouse around the screen to guide Guybrush around is one of the worst control schemes I’ve ever encountered) but thankfully this can be swapped for WASD keyboard controls.

As good as Trine is it left me slightly wanting due in part to its length-at about 6 hours maximum it’s very short for its price tag. If it’s a higher price, it should be full length.

Why Team17 didn't just make this game the first time around instead of last year's abomination, I don't know, but it was worth the wait. Fortunately, this time it's actually worth looking into.

What it lost in this pursuit of silver-screen-esque mayhem was subtlety and character. It's a solid First-Person-Shooter – one I would recommend to any fan of the genre – but it doesn't quite possess the same diversity as the first – something I never thought I'd miss.

BlazBlue is a finely crafted fighting game with some real depth to it. Polished art, great character designs and some solid mechanics make this addictive once it gets under your skin.

This is a good videogame adaptation and none of the flaws prevent it from being immersive and enjoyable to play. You won’t find another game quite like this. American Football and the fantasy world of Elves and Orcs make undeniably strange bedfellows and their unholy offspring may be ugly but it is entertaining.

The action in the ring is never short of brilliant. For fans of the sport it really does represent a loving recreation of the skills and strategies required for victory - and reservations about the role of counter-punching aside - Fight Night Round 4 is really very good indeed.

Overlord as a game has so much potential and I really hope they get another crack at it with a third installment, but they've certainly not done themselves many favours by playing it so safe with the sequel and not pushing enough boundaries.

Although the main quest line is not as long as previous content releases, Point Lookout has a large game environment, with lots of places to explore and several other side quests.

If you're the type of gamer who wants depth and complexity to their games then Rocket Riot won't be to your liking, but if you fancy a great multiplayer game that demands no more of you than two functioning thumbs, you're sure to have a blast.

The only additional gripe is the awful frame-rate (there is no reason whatsoever for the constant dips in performance). Sam & Max is, otherwise, enjoyable to play, offers sensible solutions to the puzzles and, at slightly less than 300pts per episode, is pitched at just the right price for the content on offer, unlike TellTale’s other series, Wallace and Gromit.

It’s just a shame that more wasn’t done to combat the repetitiveness as, with more variety, this could have lived up to its massive potential.

So far, so 1/10! But, despite the control issues, the awful production values and the Create-a-player mode being the most stripped down and useless creation tool I’ve ever seen (there aren’t even any stats to give your player), PDC still has that ‘something’ that makes it worthy of more than that.

Certainly there is some fun to be had here - mostly in brief stints as a party game - but the track list is not what it could have been. When combined with the lack of DLC or interoperability with World Tour, I find it difficult to wholeheartedly recommend Guitar Hero: Greatest Hits.

They really need to work on the game's AI to make the single player game fairer, and that wobbly reticule, if they are going to make another edition next year, but even then it'll still only be darts.

Overall the game is very simple to pick up and play, but it’s this simplicity that is the game's downfall. It quickly becomes repetitive, and there are several aspects of the game that will frustrate.

An addictive blast of fast paced fun which quickly becomes a boring repetitive chore.

It doesn't have the sense of a bustling metropolis like inFamous or GTA4 do, but then again, inFamous and GTA4 don't have shape-shifting, 50-story elbow drops or five-foot blades that grow out your arm. Prototype is a simple pleasure.

It's not the prettiest looking game, and it does have some minor issues, but the motion controls make all the difference, they do take a bit of getting used to, but once you get the hang of them it really makes it feel authentic.

A glorified track pack.

The continued concentration on stat-grinding rather than creating a game where player skill matters and the lack of real change in the sport really does make me believe that the Tiger Woods franchise needs to take a vacation next year while the whole basis of the franchise is rethought.

Volition's game is an excellent and worthwhile resurrection of an old franchise. One hopes its success results in Volition returning to an extremely well-loved space shooter series.

Give it time to circulate and new content will come pouring in, but what's there is by far the best in the series, and I can say that because the advent of seamless city exploration, fully integrated character traits and less dumbfounded AI in The Sims3 would make it difficult to return to its predecessors.

Along the way decisions were made to cheat the player and in doing so this is one racer robbed of most of its fun. That really is a crying shame.

A real mess.

As frustrating as it can be to constantly have to keep your eye out for sources of electricity, the power it gives you is particularly enthralling. With an intriguing story and original, if painfully skillful, enemies, the game offers engagement through both narrative, likeable characters and respectable challenge.

If you are looking for a tycoon style meal then chow down on this because you won’t find a better restaurant management game out there.

The core element of the game is solid and all that needs to be done is some polishing. Hopefully, the next installment in the series will do just that and then we really do have an undisputed champion.

No one is going to cough up cash for two games that, to be honest, can be played with bits of paper if you have the time and inclination to make them.

Suddenly, it’s not nice any more. It’s a joke. £25 worth of bland. It’s like buying a surprise celebrity and getting home to discover it’s Dale Winton.

Despite the rough edges, Killing Floor can be considered a resounding success.

Expertly crafted resourcing and development tools prevent stagnation of the game's simple conquest objective, and the sheer scope of ships, maps and difficulty levels – not to mention co-op – is likely to keep this gem afloat for some time. RTS fans rejoice.

Between this game and the Watchmen equivalent, we're seeing the arrival of an ugly baby. Film marketing folks are going to be releasing a lot of this kind of thing over the next few years. Get used to it. Ignore them. Who knows, eventually they may give up and go bother someone else.

What Battlestations Pacific delivers is something that is all too rare these days. This is a game that's fun and action-packed without treating the customer like a fool. The blend of realism and arcade fun is beautifully balanced - think of this as the warfare equivalent of Project Gotham Racing.

As a multiplayer game, it can provide some entertaining moments with some like-minded friends. As a single player RPG, it is deeply flawed.

So you’re left with a game that provides surprisingly enjoyable family-friendly fun, but one that doesn’t last longer than four hours (five if you’re a child) and misses opportunity after opportunity.

After creating this masterpiece, Bethesda has a mighty task creating something just as good. I can’t recommend Broken Steel highly enough. If you have Fallout 3, you need Broken Steel to go with it.

Not only a contender for the worst game of the year, but also the worst game of all time.

Elite Forces is a bit of a strange game really, somewhere between a RTS game and an arcade shooter, it's certainly more accessible than most RTS games, so maybe could be an introduction to the genre for beginners. The games flaws do let it down though, and coupled with the fact that there are only twelve missions, and no multiplayer game it may not hold your attention for too long.

Not since Escape from Butcher Bay have I see melee combat so superbly integrated into a first-person game, and so it's clear that ACE Team has put their heart and soul into bringing Zeno Clash to life.

Bearing in mind that Cogs is a budget game from the Steam network I would still have to say that I could only recommend it to the minority who actually like sliding tile puzzles if they ever come down from their hilltop monasteries, and maybe at a push, trainspotters.

If you haven’t played Butcher Bay before then that will surely be the highlight and the graphical overhaul really disguises the fact that the game is nearly five years old. However, if you’re a fan of the franchise and looking for a true sequel, then it’s ultimately a let down.

Tales of Valour just doesn't add enough new content and what it does add is pretty much useless. This one is only for the die hard COH fans.

Fans of turn Russian developer 1C's Fantasy Wars title will feel at home here and novice players may be attracted by its simplicity and omission of in-depth resource management, but Elven Legends does little to break new ground in its genre.

Neversoft is getting better at these Guitar Hero games. But if the developer can't get its note charting in order - and give us the option to choose which guitarist's track we want to play (rather than constantly moving between them) - then Guitar Hero 5 may not be as well received as World Tour.

Overall this is a great value game, which will last longer than most other arcade games you buy either from the PlayStation Store, or Live Marketplace. There is something frustratingly addictive about the game, meaning you want to come back for more and beat that high score you’ve just posted.

But poor storytelling, dull mission structure, lack of variety in the location and a lack of polish left me wanting much more.

There are some good ideas in here and with a bit more bug fixing and tweaking before release this could have been a decent offering. In the end Stormrise has so many problems that it is impossible to recommend.

But if you like your games with a challenge, if you want more depth, and want a multiplayer experience that doesn’t degenerate into strike attacks, then unfortunately Legends of WrestleMania is unlikely to be for you.

So, the movie and the game have something in common: they try hard and have some cool, fun moments, but lack the necessary substance or flare in order to make the time between each thrill worth enduring.

If you fully explore the world, and don’t use game guides to find all 100 Ingots, you have more than four hours of game time here. The storyline is much better, and because of all the choices that can be made throughout the game, the replay value alone gives this game extra score. In my honest opinion, any Fallout 3 owner must get this DLC.

The gameplay itself is pretty average for the genre, and the graphics do make it a bit difficult to spot some of the objects you are looking for, but it's plus points more than compensate. The games storyline holds the average gameplay together well, the overall presentation is pretty good, and to top it all off is the games budget price.

At £5.99 on Steam I find it hard not to recommend this off the wall piece of budget brilliance.

There are mutliplayer modes which should keep you coming back to this title for a while.

This PSP inception of the franchise will definitely be remembered as an important part of it, rather than a bastard child desperate to cash in.

Despite some glaring issues with this game I still enjoyed it immensely. It's fun, addictive and relaxing.

One of the Achievements to nail in Epilogue is to complete it in under two hours. So, you’ve paid 800 points for two hours of additional content that, on balance, isn’t really all that good, and does little with the narrative save to clumsily set up Prince of Persia 2.

It fails to reach perfection, but Empire Total War is the definitive strategy game. I can't think of any other game that even comes close to it.

Fast and fun once the controls are mastered.

I found Phantasy Star Portable to be nothing other than a disappointment, it has redeeming features but too many flaws to make it enjoyable.

On the whole the writing is poor quality and the dialogue risible, embarrassingly so at times. It doesn't quite make Gears of War seems like a quality drama but it's not far off. At least Gears of War features memorable characters.

So to summarize, Blood on the Sand doesn't suck. After Bulletproof it didn't look to have much of a chance, but the game plays to its strengths by not being anything too serious or demanding, giving way to a simple, solid, unpretentious and surprisingly enjoyable third-person shoot-'em-up.

Shellshock 2 is truly a bad game. It's short, it's ugly and it's uninspiring. Just what Rebellion were thinking before releasing this travesty is beyond me, because it doesn't have a leg to stand on in comparison to most PS2 FPSs, let alone anything the current-gen consoles have to offer. Leave this one alone.

Under the Ashes is immediately framed as being little more than build up to Tomb Raider Underworld: Lara’s Shadow. With spokespersons from Crystal Dynamics clearly more excited by Shadow than by Ashes, you’re maybe going to be left with a sour taste. Did you just spend seven quid for a quite enjoyable jog to a cutscene? Quite possibly.

But for my money, it's time well spent, as it succeeds more often than not in recapturing the spirit of some of the more highly regarded CRPG titles of the earlier part of the decade.

I really enjoyed playing Dawn of War II and If you're considering taking the plunge into realtime strategy this is a good place to start.. It is very accessible and Relic has obviously worked hard to release a very polished product that’s immense fun and has a multiplayer side that is entertaining to play and varies enough from the main game to give great value.

Yet while the game has plenty of niggles such as duplicated left-right mirrors, texture shimmer, dull lighting and the like the truth is that it plays better than any other racing sim I've played on console. There are better racing games out there for the current crop of consoles, but there isn't a better handling one whose aim is simulation.

Rockstar has embellished the world it created with GTA4 with a story that is not only original in its own right, but functions as another element of Liberty City as a whole. Rather than just a few new missions and weapons, TLAD adds a whole new dimension to the experience, setting a high standard for what DLC should be.
