Pokémon Legends: Arceus is the step of innovation that the series needed. At the end of the day, though, that installment feels more like a grand experiment than the franchise's standard going forward.

Katana Zero has been a surprise for everyone since it always kept a low profile and in the midst of the number of high level pitches that we have is able to carve a niche and get up as one of the best games so far this year. Perhaps its biggest problem comes in the sense of the duration that does not end up being exact to obtain the development of the whole plot and that certainly can be exploited more. Otherwise it is an indispensable this month and perhaps this year because without much pretension shows that the heart of a video game is in what is in itself and nothing more.

If you were eagerly awaiting the new installment of the franchise, we tell you in advance that you are going to enjoy it, especially if you are a fan of fighting games. Also, if you want to enter this interesting genre, I think it is a gateway that will make you feel welcome to the most brutal combat.

Dragon Quest VII Reimagined is a great experience. HexaDrive has delivered a remake that all fans of the genre and the series can enjoy. Some changes make the experience more enjoyable, with better pacing and a more direct structure. However, it's also true that some of these decisions remove some identity from the original Dragon Quest VII. Interestingly, those entering this world for the first time might not even notice.

Thanks to a spectacular puzzle design, a visual style that mixes two-dimensional art with super-realistic 3D graphics, music that fills your ears at all times, as well as a story that might seem simple at first, but quickly overflows and touches on complex themes of the human condition, The Plucky Squire becomes one of the most special experiences we have been able to enjoy in 2024 and of course, another great example of why independent video game development remains crucial to the well-being of this special form of entertainment. All Possible Futures and Devolver Digital managed to live up to what was initially promised and the great expectations that were generated, delivering a true must-have that will undoubtedly be on many lists of the best of the year.

Neva is a great example of the artistic value of video games. It is a work that reinforces Spain's position in this industry, and it is an adventure that is able to connect on a personal level with each player. This is, without a doubt, one of the best experiences of 2024.

At the end of the day, it is a video game that is worth it, as long as you keep in mind that it is a turn-based tactics genre that is gradually becoming more popular thanks to how much fun it can be today. And if that's paired with Marvel characters, it's clear fans will want to check it out.

For its part, the gameplay of Grounded presents us with a cycle that constantly rewards us with new items, construction plans, and improvements that make exploration extremely addictive. You can spend days building your main base, collecting materials, and knowing the garden like the back of your hand before you even look for BURG.L for the first time, or embark on an expedition that's as complicated as you like. While there is room for improvement on a couple of elements, the base experience is extremely solid, and one of the most fun I've had the opportunity to experience all year.

It's a real surprise for the franchise.

Nuclear Throne is simple, chaotic, addictive, challenging and fun; a game that you can take for a pair of minutes or many hours trying to beat its difficult random levels. A very good design of weapons, characters, enemies and abilities give us a very good game that the hardcore gamers could enjoy.

While its shooting system is traditional, The Outer Worlds 2 shines when it comes to customization and role-playing. Obsidian has created an adventure that feels alive, adapting to your style in real time. Each confrontation has multiple approaches, and it's always interesting to find less obvious routes, all depending on your style and goals. While The Outer Worlds 2 doesn't revolutionize the genre, it does offer a first-class experience that all fans of these experiences can't afford to miss, even if the end result isn't as impressive as Avowed.
