For an action fix, particularly Horde mode, Gears of War 2 is recommended.

It's not really a better game than the original, as the controls are still a little bit wonky, but it is more creative, and you have to give props to the developers for giving us some humorous reasons to play the same (excellent) game again.

One of the biggest surprises the game has is the user-friendly interface. It’s very easy to give commands to your character. One problem does arise though, which is the reaction time of your character.

Metroid has been taken into first-person shooter territory and has done so with a rock-solid multiplayer experience.

While the British humor leanings of Fright of the Bumble Bees might not be everybody’s cup of tea (and crumpets), and doesn’t have the same hilarity level of both the Sam & Max and Strong Bad games, it is funny enough and continues the Telltale Games propensity for creating yet another very enjoyable point & click adventure with a smartly written story and tough-enough puzzles.

If you’ve enjoyed the first two episodes of Sam and Max’s capers, then Sam & Max: The Mole, the Mob and the Meatball will be just as pleasurable to play, although be forewarned this is the shortest of the three so far.

The Bright Side of the Moon has a stellar and hysterical script, which taken in the entirety of the season, simply cannot be topped today.

Longtime Sims gamers won't mind heading back to school again with plenty of new educational experiences and places to socially explore with a revisiting of those school days gone by or experiencing it in tandem with current college life, depending on the age of the gamer.

A must-own for MLB fans.

As fun as it is for fans, novice players should give it a pass.

All in all, Saints Row: The Third is a ridiculously fun game, giving you a good 30 hours of main story activity for a run through.

Deep, fun at long stretches, accessible and you just might learn something about economics – Railroad Tycoon 3 is a recommended title.

Battlefront are an admirable group whose games all feel like labors of love, and you can feel developers’ blood, sweat and tears all through Combat Mission: Shock Force.

All in all, Grid is a lot like candy, delicious in small doses, but too much could leave you feeling sick.

The uniqueness of the setting and the Platoon/Full Metal Jacket inspired cut-scenes and soundtrack add a lot to the experience.

I really liked playing Spider-Man: Shattered Dimension because every level seemed to have something different to do, and failing that, at least it always looked radically different from level to level.

While the single player campaign isn’t a drastic improvement over previous versions of the series, the multiplayer goes the distance, providing one of the best experiences available on Xbox Live.

Play for a little, get a hit of Mario nostalgia, challenge your brain, and continue with the rest of your day. Mario vs. Donkey Kong: Mini-Land Mayhem makes for a great gaming fix.

The single-player is great and the multi-player is even better.

Madden 25 has traveled a long road from its Sega Genesis beginnings to today's modern iteration. It's certainly not perfect, but once again gamers get a solid football title with all kinds of entertaining modes both offline and online.

An old game in new clothing, which, fortunately, is a not a bad thing. Sure, some of the sound effects are recycled from the earliest C&C titles – send out infantry to be slaughtered and tell me I’m wrong – and it does not bring anything significantly new to the genre but is sure is fun.

All of the above adds up to a game that is fun, with enough depth to the action and strategy to keep Mario Strikers Charged in regular rotation, particularly when I need a game to cleanse the palette during and after the 4th Quarter.

The game’s straightforward interface, light sense of humor and cute graphics might be sufficiently charming to engage and possibly teach a thing or two to players who are moderately interested in electoral politics.

As much as Dead Space should be a big mess for mixing genres and borrowing so many ideas and gameplay mechanics from other games, it manages to stand on its own as an extremely good game, especially for a new IP.
