There is really nothing wrong with the GBA rendition of the popular TV show but really nothing that jumps at you and screams "buy me" either.
-
A game that shouln't have been as bad as it is. If you take away the frustration and boredom, this game might have worked.
-
Nintendo PowerWhether you compete with your friends or play by yourself, you must watch all five of your rivals take turns, which accounts for a lot of downtime. [Jan 2005, p.139]

Game InformerIf you play Fear Factor: Unleashed, you deserve to find forgiveness in the heart of no man. [Feb 2005, p.125]
-
The game grasps at replay value by locking up the medium and hard difficulty levels, forcing you to win an easy game to unlock medium, and a medium game to unlock hard. Not that that's difficult or anything, it's just there. Besides that minor point, you'll almost inevitably be finished with this lackluster game before you have a chance to settle in.
-
A franchise marketing attempt gone bad. I played most of what the game had to offer in about 40 minutes, and when I finally sat down to beat the game, I was rewarded with an extra feature. Yes, that's right, this extra feature was an added difficulty level. Whoopee.

Can I describe Fear Factor: Unleashed in one simple word? Sure I can: crap.
